Part 4: Chapter 84: All roads lead to Sonia.

Tau wandered the streets of Pretoria aimlessly. He had been to Iraq over the weekend of the 26th of October but found no trace of her. He had no intel about her whereabouts, the military camps so well guarded he could not get close.

His search brought him to South Africa. His first night he stayed hidden as Xenophobia madness broke out around him. Being a foreigner was not perfect timing for a search.

South African blacks were out to kill any outsider. He found himself amid it the moment he stepped on the paving just outside the Gautrain station, in midtown Johannesburg. People were flinging rocks and burning rubbish. A fuming mob targeted and stripped foreign businesses from their products. Some barely escaped.

The next day he made way to a taxi rank but realised his mistake as a brick hurled at him. He missed it by inches and ran away, getting behind the police who tried in vain to disarm the mob. Screaming, wailing and gunshots caused a cacophony in the enclosed space.
