Metal Transmutation

After running for a few minutes, I finally found a safe cave where i stopped to recover energy.

"Okay, that was intense!" i let out an excited shout. i'd spent the most of my life being frail and weak, a blockhead orphan always looked down upon. This... this new body...this new strength...this new life...is the best i could ever hope for!

'I will do everything and anything to keep this life and in this dangerous world I am sent to, i will become the strongest lifeform, find the World's Key and conquer this world!

Anything that stands in my way or wishes to kill me and take this life away from me can only meet with one end...DEATH!'

A smile crept up on my face before slowly turning into low chuckles, then evolved into a hysterical laugh.

"HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

After a few minutes, Matt let go of his emotions and checked his stats…

A few upgrades... I see

But none of that caught his eye as all he could see now was his new skill " Metal Transmutation" had been added.

"Exactly what I needed !" Matt said in relief.

As a life form with 80% of his body as metal, this was an essential skill as it would enable to heal his injuries and upgrade his body parts. Matt couldn't wait to put the skill to use as when the skill reached a certain level, he would be able to transmute ores and forge them into weapons or as his body part.

he checked his body and saw a lot of scratches and dents, there was even a hole in his stomach.

"Ahhh….how I've suffered" he sighed in exasperation, then focusing all his attention on his body, he said "Activate, Metal Transmutation, First Form, Heal!"

A faint light burst from his body and the dents and scratches began to mend themselves, disappearing like they were never there.

"That cost a whole 50 energy!" Matt exclaimed, feeling frustrated. "this skill is definitely a …. huh?"

Matt paused…for a split second, he heard a scream.

Replaying the sound in his brain, he was able to determine the direction it came from...

As he was about to head out, he paused and brought out a bunch of monster cores.

'I only absorbed 5 cores...

i should probably absorb a little more... judging by the distance of the sound, that would be a little into the Rank C monsters territory, it'll be dangerous to head with my current strength.'

He began to absorb the cores frenziedly until a few minutes later

"Ughh, to think rock monster cores would lose their effectiveness this quick!"

Taking a frustrated glance at the 4 remaining cores in his hand, he tossed in his storage compartment.

The storage compartment was little bag attached to his back, he could keep certain small items in it.

he took another look at his stats..

'Wow! So many upgrades!' Matt thought 'I even got earth element affinity, that's probably due to the Rocky Beasts cores...I'm even at advanced Rank D, but it seems it will take more than just Rocky Beasts to take last step into Peak Rank D. I guess I'll have to kill a few agility-type monsters!'

"With that done, Its time to move!"

At the other side of the forest, a group of warriors were being chased by a pack of blue wolves with lightning coursing through their body. The warriors were heavily wounded but they were doing their best to keep the wolves from a young lady in their midst.

"Randol, take the Young miss and escape far away, we'll hold these back for now!" One of them exclaimed.

The one named Randol gripped the hand and nodded grimly.

"I promise to protect the Young miss with my life! Young miss, let's go" He said with determination in his eyes.

The 'Young Miss', with tears flowing down her cheeks, nodded and followed Randol as the other warriors sacrificed their lives to hold the wolves back.
