Re:born: Arc 1: the game starts.

" I won't lie and say it's gonna be easy, it's a risky operation if we get caught it will be game over for us, so you two are in ?" Lupin asked Matheo and Shamel.

The two in question shared a glance, then they looked back at Lupin.

"We are in, " the two said at the same time announcing their answer.

that earned yet another grin from lupin.

"then i assume you got a plan ?"Fujiko asked,"Fujiko asked, as this will be a difficult process they will infiltrate a Russian mafia, and in normal cases, this is branded insanely impossible, but that principle doesn't run in their small gang remembering all the crazy works they did till now.

" well we are pretty lucky two days from now our dear Afanas planned a masquerade party in one of his mansions in Moscow, it would be perfect timing to infiltrate his home and steal the gun " explained lupin as he moved toward the table he was working before, showing them the mansion's construction plan and where the gun was supposed to be at.

he pointed at the location of the gun, which was on the second floor of the manor. " the gun is in a chamber in his study room, here comes our first obstacle, unfortunately for us, the door won't open without his fingerprints, here your turn comes, Fujiko, you know what to do " he said handing her a golden envelope, the other in the room gazed at it.

"h-how the hell did he get an invitation? "Matheo muttered to himself in disbelief.

" the next step, Jigen Goemon, while Fujiko trying to get the fingerprints you two will disguise as the guards, the patrols are done through shifts every 30 minutes there will be a change of guards outside the room you two take the chance we have 2 days to join them " his two partners nodded silently at that accepting their roles.

"later on I will follow you two with the fingertips, the real problem will be the cameras, Aflans will put guards on stand up if we are caught by the cameras the mansion will close on itself literally we won't find a way out that's why we need a professional hacker, who will hack into the cameras and put a false clip on the CCTV ..."

Lupin said before he completed what he was saying Matheo cut him off.

" No need for looking for a hacker, that I can do it," he said confidently, earning a look from the others in the room.

Shamel eyed him speciously like he didn't believe that he could hack.

" what? you don't believe I can do it, oh man how do you think I survived in the Angelo Famiglia

this long, have some faith in me will ya " Matheo said playfully, but he was clearly offended that Shamel didn't believe in him.

" Remind me again because of who we are in this situation in the first place " Shamel commented dryly, earning a glare from said person.

" Yes I can do it, do " he announced then he turned his head to Lupin as he asked, " do you have the plan of the security ?"

Lupin nodded as he opened a window in his computer and turned it to Matheo.

" Great another obstacle out the way ...so all we need now is the distraction, " Lupin said while playing absently with a Rubix cube.

" Why would we need a distraction it will get in the way of the plan if they suspect a thing we will get caught, and it's not like they are expecting us, "Shamel said, but his last statement earned him total silence and a smirk from lupin.

" What did we miss ?"Matheo asked, eyeing the others.

"I'm Lupin the third, I don't go steal things unannounced, " Lupin said with a thumb pointing to him with confidence, it seems like he already sent the card announcing that he is going to steal the gun.

"you gotta be kidding me .." Shamel whispered in disbelief, even Matheo's thoughts at the moment are in the same line this man is crazy.

Shamel looked at the others to see if someone is protesting this but found that they are all calm like this always happen.

' how exactly i will trust them, this lupin ...is so reckless '

" So what are we gonna do since they are expecting us to come and all? " Shamel asked.

Lupin stayed silent at first, then he looked up to Shamel.

"I think i have the perfect idea for that "

At that moment Shamel felt uneasy at the attention, he won't like what was to come.

' who thought being a hostage would bring this much luxury ' Sayuri commented mentally as she admired the beautiful view of the garden down from the window.

she truly didn't expect this at all, they are not treating her as a prisoner, which is weird, they gave her a spacious room and delicious food, and they provided her with some books if she got bored, no interrogations, no torture, no threats even the guards are nice to her treating her like a guest, this situation doesn't add up.

they didn't question her about the place of cobra's legacy, it's already been three days since she was captured and brought here by that man, she assumed he had a high position in this organization and he doesn't seem like someone who can be outwitted easily she has to act carefully around him, speaking of him she didn't see him around, wasn't he eager to know the localization, she really doesn't know how to feel about this situation.

Or maybe they are just giving her a sense of security and trying to make her lower her guards and trust them to disclose the information like any kid her age would do, but that doesn't seem possible as there are easier ways to extract it from her and they are mafia for god sake torturing kids are like breath for them, she is not complaining it's not like she doesn't like this situation, on the contrary, she is grateful for it she is pretty sure her small body won't handle the strain, the only probability that came to her mind is that they need her safe and sound for what she doesn't know, she doesn't have enough facts to arrive to a final conclusion just theories and what if's.

besides, the only reason she got herself captured in the first place is to gain some time for Lupin and the gang so they can get the gun, and get the mafia organization off their backs while they are at it, she planned to bluff and try to give them false leads on the location and the last restore is to let them fell into those traps, till Lupin's gang catch to them, she already left the coded version of the coordination of the place hopefully he can decode it if he doesn't find it we will be all in trouble, I got to escape alone, that will be quite impossible for me with this body and the high-level security she thought looking at the wall, and the armed guards passing by.

"I hope you are enjoying your stay here Sayuri, my men didn't give you trouble did they now, " he asked while taking steps toward the table where she was sitting.

she decided to play along as she replied trying to get his name " No they are quite Nice Mr ?"

" Oh it seems I forgot to introduce myself earlier, I'm Marcello di Angelo, a pleasure " he introduced himself, earning a nod from Sayuri.

'where did I hear his name again? '

"Sayuri, do you know how to play chess ?" The man asked the girl who was again lost in her thoughts, she let her guard down again, what was wrong with this man and why her intuition don't act around him, maybe he doesn't present as a danger to her.

" Yes, " she replied at the odd question.

" That's great then you won't mind playing a round with me while we are discussing, " he said as he went to grab the chessboard sitting on the round table he took the chair across from her, and with that, the two begin their round.

( 15th July 1998, the masquerade party, Afanas Vlasov's mansion, Moscow, Russia )

multiple luxury cars are parked outside the big building, there are guards scattered around the area patrolling.

the guests are arriving one after the other wearing fancy clothes and masquerade masks, Fujiko was one of them wearing a pretty red and black dress with a matching mask over her eyes, she made her way toward the front entrance, and they allowed her to enter after checking her invitation, while she was walking a voice come from her earring.

" Fujiko, did you enter ?" the voice belonged to lupin as he asked.

"Yeah it was slightly easy, it seems that Afanas doesn't want to take you seriously, there isn't even a metal detector " she whispered her reply as walked to the banquet.

the other kept silent for a moment then he said.

" Well, he loses, anyway Shamel, how is it going with you, "asked lupin Shamel who is hiding in one of the restrooms disguised as Lupin he will serve as a distraction when the operation begins.

" oh I'm doing great minus the fact that in a few minutes you gonna get me killed by your stupid plan why did I agree to this in the first place " replied Shamel sarcastically fixing his tie.

" oww you are scared "came the taunting voice of Matheo, he was in a van behind the mansion in front of him computers, he was in the process of hacking the security system of the mansion and displaying false images on the cameras.

While the two were fighting in the background, a man approached Fujiko at the banquet. It was no other than Afanas, the host of the party and their target, as the woman noticed him coming she informed the others using the voice transmitter.

" Afanas is coming, get ready !" she exclaimed cutting their verbal fight immediately, the two got back to their work, and Fujiko grabbed a glace of wine from the table and greeted Afanas

With that, the two entered into a conversation before he invites her to dance Fujiko put her glass of wine on a tray held by the butler that passed by and Afnas followed her example.

" Would you allow me to have a dance, Miss? " Afanas said, his hand extended to the woman.

Fujiko gave him a polite smile and accepted his offer as they stepped inside to the center .

" We got the fingerprints, Goeamon ,jigen I'm on my way, Matheo get to work we only have 30 minutes " Lupin called the two, he was actually the butler in disguise.

With that Lupin left the banquet heading toward the study room with the instructions of Matheo .

He met Jigen and Goemon on the way. The two are dressed in the guards suits like they planned beforehand .

Opening the door the three entered the room and with that their operation began , as they began searching for the door that led to the secret chamber , as Lupin compared the room to the buldings 's plans , in no time he found it was behind the library typical hiding place .

After copying the fingerprints and putting it into the scanner the door finally opened to a golden room where Vilsov Afanas was hiding all his valuable properties.

" this is it "

without wasting time Lupin took the gun they were here for , it was a golden one with a figure of a snake in it handle .

" let's get out of here "Jigen said to the two ,but before they could leave guards bursted the room

" Umm guys i think there is a small problem " Matheo said from the transmitter .

" Oh yeah tell me about it " Jigen commented looking at the men that filled the room .

" Ara we got caught, " Lupin said, lifting his hand to the air.

" There is someone who is blocking the signals __" Matheo tried to say but he was cut off .

meanwhile, Shamel was running away from a bunch of guards after they spotted him while cursing Lupin, after all this was all part of the plan , he will distract the cctv's workers will focus on him that way they won't suspect the fake footages , unknown to him the plan is already crumbling to the ground .

Just as he turned to the right he bumped into other guards , he was stuck in the middle with no way to run .

' This is the end ' he thought to himself .
