The Thirty Eighth

One of the things I found strange was the fact that she pulled a black sword out of her arm and even weirder was the stance she took with it. Although I can't talk much since I wield a scythe and don't take a normal stance either. Although I can use a sword I feel much more comfortable with a scythe when fighting ever since I wanted to hear Father call me a walking calamity one day. It felt like time had slowed to a stop and every moment felt like a minute. After a few more short breaths I charged at her and swung down with my scythe to check her reaction speed. She however, blew my expectations out of the water and took a dump on them because before I could even react she was already behind me the moment before my swing got near her. I just barely managed to get away from her at that moment.

This process repeated itself for what felt like an hour but was only a few minutes. It felt like she was just toying with me. She wasn't even taking me seriously at all and at the moment I realized this I decided to go full power and prove to her that she didn't have time to play around. I backed away from her for a moment then activated one of my new skills called annihilation. I slashed the air and a ripple effect happened that caused many red slashes to form in the air.and fly towards her. 'Take that and see if you can still toy with me Nora!' I yelled that out in my mind since I wouldn't say something like that out loud because it would be disrespectful towards Father. However much to my dismay she uttered one single word and all of the slashes disappeared into thin air, 'Endless'.

I couldn't believe what I just witnessed, I knew that she was powerful but not this powerful. I should have appraised her before taking this fight but there wouldn't be any challenge if I did that. Stupid stubborn me. I took a second to calm myself down and prepare my trump card that would take her out in one strike if I managed to land it. I lunged at her much faster than any of the times I did before and yelled to the top of my lungs as I closed in on her, "Guillotine!"

My scythe collided with her sword and she was knocked back into a wall causing a giant crater. That should have done some serious damage and settled the match. I looked towards Father and his expression didn't change so I knew something was wrong, no I felt it. The ground started shaking and then I very clearly heard her voice say something. "You call that a 'Guillotine'? That was child's play, let me show you how it's really done." I couldn't even react before she popped up right in front of me using the same skill I used on her earlier on me. She destroyed my scythe and knocked me against the opposite wall before I blacked out.

[POV Change back to Nemesis]

Sadly that was the result I expected. Nora trained in a much harder environment than Divinus but wasn't treated any differently. Jealousy might have been a strong factor in this fight however but in all honesty I don't think she really cares. Observing the two of them fight was an obvious result waiting to happen. After Divinus was knocked out Lydia rushed over to heal him and everyone else was surprised with the result. I walked over to Nora and picked her up to put her on my shoulder.

It looks like Divinus wasn't training hard enough even if he is a battle maniac he still got wrecked. Although it may have to do with Nora's abilities as a Voidwalker that gives her a strong advantage and the fact that she isn't part monster like Divinus. In reality if Divinus had evolved more than he may have stood a chance against her. The fights against the mirror golems will most likely be an eye opener for everyone to show them how serious they need to be when training. I may be nice, but when it comes to Teaching I am the strictest person I know. Although Elaine might enjoy that rather than be disheartened by that.

After that I told everyone we would head home and Nora would be joining us. When Divinus woke up all of us were headed home but I was stopped by Divinus for a second. He yelled out to declare that one day he would win against Nora in a rematch, to which she replied with a genuine smile. That one action surprised everyone including me. When we reached home Elaine went to the kitchen to prepare dinner and I took Nora to show her my room with Divinus and Sicarius following us.

[Nora POV]

After my brother stopped Father from walking for a moment I couldn't believe my ears when he yelled out that he wanted a rematch in the future. I knew that because he is my brother he would become much stronger very quickly if he tried hard enough. I just smiled at him because I was excited to see the day he became much stronger and gave me a worthy fight . At first when I defeated him in a fight I was honestly disappointed because he was related to me so I expected him to be much stronger than what he was. I will say that my void gives me an advantage over him but I will use my skills to the best of my abilities even if I held back in that fight I still overwhelmed him.

When we reached the giant home that Father owned my jaw dropped for a moment but I did my best not to let anyone notice. While Father was walking up the stairs with me on his shoulder I constantly looked around to observe the glorious view. What blew my mind however was Father's room. It was extravagant with its giant bed, big open area, large bath, several desks and chairs, and a big closet. When we entered Father sat me and Divinus down then sent Sicarius out of the room before speaking to us.

Once I sat down Divinus and Nora I was contemplating what to say to them now that they met. The two of them weren't arguing or bickering at all while sitting in front of me so that's good. My thoughts went towards laying down some rules so that these two wouldn't constantly fight. I told them that unless I allow it they aren't allowed to fight. The two of them aren't allowed to try and take advantage of the other subordinates for their own convenience and lastly they are to listen to everything I say. The two of them just nodded and didn't voice any disagreement.

I'm glad that the two of them don't dislike each other, at least on the outside. While waiting for dinner I took Nora and Divinus to the library and let them read what they wanted until it was time to eat. After a few hours it was time to eat so the three of us went downstairs and took a seat at the large center table with me at the head, Nora and Divinus at my sides. Nora looked like she was enjoying her food a ton before devouring it a few minutes later. We had steak and eggs for dinner and of course I enjoyed it. For the first time in a while I wanted to sleep alone and collect my thoughts on how to take action tomorrow with the mirror golems. So instead of Nora and Divinus going to their own rooms I had Nora spend time with Al'Dae and Divinus with Elaine while I went to sleep for the night.
