CHAPTER 24

Shivaay POV

It's been a few minutes since we've been silent while sitting next to each other, and it makes me feel strange. Even though I was stunned by what Evlyn's mother said, I don't want Evlyn to go silent straight after I hang up the phone. To divert my attention away from my thoughts, all I am doing is listen to the sounds around me, such as people chatting, footsteps, and the scene in front of me, where a toddler wails as she drags her mother to a toy store, despite her mother's hard refusal. Poor soul!

Nonetheless, aside from her mother's warning, I'm a little apprehensive about what Evlyn thinks of me. I know I would never intentionally cause her a problem or act inappropriately toward her. The last thing I'd want is for girls to be uncomfortable in my presence.
