Wind briskly brushed off Luca's fair skin. His curly hair blocked off his specs as the breeze made his hair sway. The afternoon was peaceful and serene however, he realized that he was alone without Kisaki pestering him.
The festival was near and many students were busy preparing their own booths with their clubs. As expected, Luca's club decided that they will open a book café. Takamura originally didn't want to participate in the upcoming event but if she didn't, the club will be demolished. She couldn't let that happen. So, she expressed her ideas to her teammates. No one seemed to disagree.
Luckily, Luca had an experience being a barista. Well, he didn't have a friend before and he rarely goes outside. So, he tried many things to avoid boredom. Being able to make coffee was one of the things he like when he got bored.
"So, everyone here is handsome, even you're all dorky. Today, I declare that all of you have to show your handsomeness to attract the customers, especially you Kenji. You have a cool type character so you have to do your thing coolly." Takamura said as he pointed at Kenji who was reading a book quietly.
He grumbled, thinking that this event was so troublesome that he couldn't even refute.
"Takamura-san, I can do coffee making." Luca raised his hand and said, making the people in the room stunned and looked at him. Takamura nearly wanted to squeal on how cute Luca was but she suppressed herself and went into business.
"Okay Tanaka-kun, you will be our barista. Since Tanaka-kun is already cute, he should be in the cute type. Look at him! Isn't he cute? He easily blushed when I looked at him!" And that, she couldn't suppressed anymore and pinched Luca's cheeks making Luca startled and puffed angrily. But to the people who witnessed such scene, they could only think that a kitten was angry being petted.
Cute. Kenji thought as he looked at Luca. It was as though there was something tickling inside his heart that made him feel fluttered and warm.
Kenji's feelings deepened every single day when he was with Luca. However, he knew that Luca didn't feel the same way about him. He could only watch him from afar, hide his feelings inside, and continue being friends with him.
He couldn't afford to lose him, he couldn't imagine that. So, even if it hurts, he was glad he was friends with him.
"Kaede, you be the tsundere type, Hinata the husky type and Haruki the kuudere type. Now, off you go! We still have to prepare! Kenji, accompany Luca to buy groceries needed for the Café. Kaede, go with Hinata to borrow table cloths and curtains in the faculty. And Haruki? Help me decorate the venue. I brought the props earlier so I only need you to help me hang these things. Now go! We don't have time to lose!"
And for that, the Literature club was busy.
Kenji accompanied Luca to buy groceries. They bought coffee beans, creamer and things needed for coffee. Kenji bought pies, cakes and breads for the café and placed it inside the car he borrowed from Haruki.
"Do we have anything?" Kenji asked leisurely as Luca checked the list needed to bring and to buy.
"Kenji, do you have coffee maker at your house? I-i don't have one." Luca lied. He just didn't want his father found out that he had friends at his school. His father didn't allow him to have one, just because he will talk about Hanahaki disease again. Kenji pondered where he learned coffee making since he said he didn't have one, but he couldn't ask him that since it wasn't his business. He couldn't go beyond the boundary.
Luckily he had one coffee maker at home where his Mom rarely use anymore. He thought that might be in handy.
"Okay. I have one at home. Let's get it there."
"Okay." The two went into the car, placing all the groceries in the passenger seat. When the two finally entered the car, Kenji drove fast into his house. Although, his heart was beating frantically as he let his crush entered his house for the first time.

In the Sound club, the music room was booming with drums, loud strums of guitar and rocking sounds of the keyboard reverberated the walls. Since they have to repair the door, as for now the echoes were loud especially the rooms near their clubroom.
Kisaki still had a headache as he reluctantly used the club funds for their newly built door. The twins, Saito and Shimizu wanted to bawl their eyes out and beg for forgiveness. However, the grumpy Kisaki looked at them and kicked them in the head.
"You want me to pluck your eyes? Say and I will gladly do it." Kisaki said to the two as they both covered their eyes in fear.
"You don't have to do it! Why are you so merciless? Are you my Mom?!" Shimizu shouted as he continued to covered his eyes. Saito parted his fingers, showing the part of his eyeballs and stared at Kisaki's silhouette.
"Why? Do you think I want you as my son?!" Kisaki replied sternly. He crossed his arms and looked at them, the two twins continued to pester Kisaki and they don't have any intention to stop until Kisaki forgive them. Kisaki sighed, reluctantly letting them go.
"Go! Be sure to prepare for the festival or you two will going to make a door if you made a mistake during the performance. I will be eyeing you." He pointed his two eyes with his index and middle finger and throw them his threatening glare, the twins shuddered and ran off the club quickly.
"You're letting him off again? I'm telling you, after an hour those two will cause trouble again. Their asses won't calm down." Kobayashi said and pursed his lips in a thin line, staring at Kisaki laggardly.
"How 'bout you? You're the leader, you should restrict them often. Ah, forget it. Your lazy bum won't last a day if you do that." Kisaki sighed as Kobayashi snorted.
"Good that you know."
Kisaki rolled his eyes and plopped his butt on the floor, rummaging his bag. He grabbed his music notes and stared at it, coming up with new lyrics as he gathered his determination to write.
He was inspired lately, and he would like to dedicate this song to Luca as his friendship gift. Kobayashi noticed his friend's odd behavior and put his drumsticks above the clean drum. He walked towards him and bent his legs a little so that he could see what he was doing.
This friend of his, was seriously writing a song. He didn't even noticed when Kobayashi went near him and his attention was on the clean sheet of the music notes. His pen swifted the clean paper, writing inspirational poetry for Luca. Kisaki then thought, Luca became his precious friend than he realized.
Kobayashi didn't know where his enthusiasm came from, he rarely write songs these years and he was so eager to write now. Is he, in love again perhaps?
"Dude, are you in love again?" Kobayashi said, staring at Kisaki's back with confused gaze.
"No, what makes you think that?" Kisaki asked as he furrowed his brows and looked back. Kobayashi was stunned, hurriedly said, "So, this is for her?"
"No, this is a friendship song."
"Dude, you made this song for me? Dang I'm touched." Kobayashi wiped his fake tears and teased Kisaki.
"Dude, if you're going to be the last man on Earth, I will never ever write a song for you." Kisaki said, his face disgusted.
"Naturally, 'cause you'll never exist." Kobayashi said calmly.
"Oh, good that you know." Kisaki scoffed, and paid attention at the music sheets again. Kobayashi let him be and lay flat on the soft sofa in the Sound club. Buried his face in the soft pillow, he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
Kisaki, holding a pen and paper, closed his eyes and dig even deeper about the words he had to express for Luca. He flashed back the times they spent together. Although they spent not for a while, but it was wholesome and memorable time for him.
Luca was timid, easily being bullied, and he never fights back. Sometimes, he was awkward. Sometimes, he was cute. He was shy, but seeing the latter's presence could make his feelings warm. Just like the air of spring.
Spring.... Sakura... This words made him recall something. That's right. It was on Luca's first day of school. He helped him get rid of those bullies. It was under the tree of Sakura, he remembered the leaves fall five millimeters in a second. It looks just like a candy rain.
He smiled, opened his eyes and wrote the lyrics. He expressed his thoughts in the music notes and played the song with his guitar. Slender fingers strummed the guitar, the spring melody of one's feelings sang by the tune of the guitar. It was serene and beautiful.
Every time he sang, the flashes of memory played inside his head. It felt as if he recalled the times he was in the forest admiring the birds and the gushing waterfalls, with Luca looked and waved at him. The sight was idyllic and enchanting.
He thought, this was a perfect gift for him. And he would like it to listen to him on the festival.
Just like his face and smile...
He named the song "Spring Breeze".
