The Sanctuary
With just the mere scenery of blood flowing out from someone's body, with the unexplainable phenomena or a total bewitchment with the sky, the beings that were only the content of fictional or fantast book brought to life, in rage and ready for a battle.
The scenery of werewolves seems like protecting the room where I was then, and with Zarviel and the other vampires were trying their best to keep the enemy in their places. It was nerve-shaking and terrifying knowing that they are here with a certain aim. To cut my throat. To kill me with their own hands.
The air blew harsh as the witches laughed were hovering. Broomstick with their masters are on the air, throwing a mocking circus to the vampires and wolves.
"Raise your flag! You, ugly witches with rotting faces!" Another voice of a woman hovered. Just like Zarviel, she has the pale skin, the red eyes and sharp long fangs.
"How dare you!" Another voice hovered from the witches side. The broomsticks where the witches were riding flew above the vampires and werewolves head. The werewolves howls longer, and seemed started to get angry with the witches mockery.
My hand trembled in shock when a tremendous light hit the ground. The scene was dark, gloomy and cold. It was more terrifying the moment you'll see what I was seeing at that very moment. The tension literally built the dark atmosphere that was circulating in the open space. It was even more harder to even breath.
After that tremendous lightning hitted the ground, a laughing voice hovered. I shivered, I could feel my head getting bigger because of the tension and the terrifying feeling I was feeling at once at that moment!
I could describe the lightning as very powerful, that it almost lighted the the whole dark clouds. The lightning has a very firm strength that shook the grounds a little the moment it hitted the ground. The grasses were even burned which created smoke. With just that lightning, I know everything would not be pleasing, and it was not pleasing to begin with.
"How fools are you to even protect her when all of you knew that she is up for a big vengeance? How fool are you to protect her when she turned your King lifeless?" The woman's hovered, her voice were cold and airy which brought me another set of indescribable creep.
"We are ready to accept our fate. She has all the rights to end our breathes. We owe her everything we have, and we hid at her when she seek someone to help. She just want to take everything back... and we gladly want to give it back. We're done hiding from the shadows of fear. We are now ready to raised our flags. She deserves to be save." Zarviel longly said, I couldn't determine her tone, either regretting or in rage.
"And, guilt would never spare your souls. You'll die and be cage forever in her arms. Your guilt will never quench the thirst for her vengeance... by heartless as she is, she couldn't even offer you forgiveness." the woman replied. The smoke was slowly getting blew out at to where the lightning strike, which then later revealed a woman with an enchanting look. My eyes widen when I literally saw with my own pair of orbs... a deity faced woman having the darkest seige in her soul.
No one spoke. They were silenced yet they were no trace of hesitation in their eyes. It just turned fiercer every seconds passed. The silence was never been the end of war, it isn't the sign for the approaching peace... silence is somewhat the cliff hanging, and that silence will never bring a miiracle tranquility that everyone had been wanting.
With a shaking knees, and fear wrapping my whole system, I decided to stood up. I even got a support because at that moment, I just felt like fainting and then just forgt what happened. I swung the door the door open, and the moment I got out from the room, the air blew harshly around everyone.
"Z-Zarviel..." I called her out, and that was when she froze. It took her time before she averted her gaze at her back... to where I was.
"A-Alice..." she responded, her mien was in panick, and she was having a hard time forming her words. There were her many attempts to utter words yet it'll not just spit out from her mouth!
A tear had dropped from my eye. The pang did just barged in the moment our gazes met. I just felt betrayed! No. I am betrayed by her!
"Alice... no. Stop moving, Alice. Stop right there and just... just stay in there," she then uttered instead. Her vice were laced with worry yet I started to feel shallow, and cold inside me. I could hear her but I can't find any reason to follow her words. She did just betrayed me. She fooled me, I guess.
"See how fools you are. All of you who are on her side. You wanna protect her? How could you...? When all she does listen is her certain own voice? Look! She doesn't need any savior! In her eyes, you all just a guilty pest trying to pay back," the woman that was possesing with a great beauty stated surely, as if she really know me. Her statement were intact with convictions, as if she really know my core. And, she sound pathetic trying to win everyone by her exaggerated words. Indeed, beauty is not a quality you must have. Beauty fades, or it could be timeless but the moment that your atittude stinks, despite being an eye capture to everyone... surely no one would want to have you close in their side. In them, you are just an accesory in their eyes.
"Pay your respect!" A being with the same as Zarviel's appearance shouted, and without any ado... the wolves howl, the longest this time as they all faced their backs. Zarviel and the beings that looks the same at her physically folded their knees as they bow their heads. The wolves were just continously howling while looking towards the moon that as gazing us down behind the thick black clouds.
"Ha! What a scene. This fools did just kneel to someone who only cost seige," I heard another voice of a witch hovered, and was said loudly... completely making their way t mock everyone.
I slowly diverted my gaze from Zarviel towards everyone that as kneeling for me, the slowly towards the witches and their queen who was possesing a great beauty.
My brows knotted when I remembered that this scene doesn't even exist in the book. I was close to ending but I haven't got to even glimpse this part.
* * *
Days after being locked up in that dark shit somewhere, there were questions slowly building up inside my head, and that was when I decided to focus on fedding myself with the answers.
I decided to take a little research and once that caught my curiousity was the book. I've been loving vintage books and old books, but this one just looks magical.
I don't believe on this shits and craps out fantasy because I prefer having them inside of the book, rather than have it in this complicated reality but damn! This is my last straw. I can't get answers from my logical thoughts and I am hoping that in this resort, I will have.
Am I making myself a fool? But, I'd probably also lose my sanity if I wouldn't try. With the things that are happening to me right now, I don't think I'd leave in peace knowing that there are days I'd just walk up locked inside a dark place.
But, the more I refuse to acknowledge the truth and reality the more it run after me. It just chase me, and it'll haunt me. I refuse to run away, but I can't just let my sanity slip.
I started researching, and my gaze went up to the book that was placed at my study table. I stare at it and another batch of questions were then rosing up. It got me confused.
I thought the author of that book prefer anonymousity yet to a certain article in the internet I got bumped up... and it blown me.
The book I got are one of the one-hundred books that the author wrote. It was then dated, estimatedly from his childhood to the day he ran his breath out. It was said that he started writing at the age of 8, and died at the age of 45.
I dug up a little deeper and found out that he was a writer around 15th century. He is also known to be a traveller by himself.
My forehead creased. For a person who existed on the 15th century, this author has a lot of information in the internet.
I started scrolling up, trying to see if there are some list of books that the author wrote in here, but there was none.
"Fang," I uttered as I typed the book title yet I was lead into some fantasy themed photos.
I was scrolling, a litte bit annoyed that I didn't get a hunch of the writer who wrote the novel when my scrolling got halted the moment I glaced at the book cover of the book that was placed at my study table.
There were sun rays hitting the cover, and that was when I saw the engraved letter at the book.
"Nicolus Petrus Gonsalvus...?"
