PART TWO: THE MOUNTAIN. CH XX: Time and time again

I didn’t wake until two days later to find out that the prince had already left with his party…and that my sister remained unmarried.

Not only that, but the man had left some presents for me. Medicines and an assortment of products from the south, including some rice candy, which I was savoring as I sat on my bed with my father beside me.

He had taken upon himself to question me about what I had done during the fight…even if all he did was interrogate me. Sticking to the version I had given to Bao Hu, I told him about ‘the dream’ and the sage I had met in it. I related many of the things I had lived through in the Painted World and glossed over others (like my passionate encounter with Mu, which a girl of my physical age should know nothing about).
