Challenges Part I

The following day, Zhihao and Bao Hu came to see me off for the next and final challenge. Kumiko was… currently undisposed and would remain so for a while.

‘It feels like cheating. Even if we’re doing nothing than the others haven’t done before.’

‘We could stay here and argue semantics, or you can stop procrastinating and get going.’

‘Somebody got out of bed with the left paw today.’ Selene grumbled something and then fell silent.

But she was right; I was hesitating. Why, you ask? Well, because I didn’t know if what we had planned the previous night was a good idea, but it was far too late to oppose it. And Kumiko would be right in the middle of everything.

Hanging from my neck was Khutulun’s pendant already fastened, and Yin was hiding under my cloak again. Kumiko had arranged my clothes so that they disguised the dragon as much as possible.

“Princess” Bao Hu brought me back to reality, and as I turned to him, I found him staring at me.

“Yes…?”
