“Everyone?” the Khan asked, and I nodded resolutely.
“Everyone but a few whose body is crippled or too weak to survive the tribulations. Everybody serving in the military is, at least, in their sixth tribulation.”
The Khan nodded respectfully, a clear indication that what we had accomplished in the little time we had had was a feat which spoke volumes of the people. I was very proud of them all, so proud of them indeed that I didn’t mind stepping down from the throne to give them a chance to thrive.
“How long have the troops been training like this?”
