Chapter ten: Stupid mate bond.

"Why do even care? Let me go!" I tried to snatch myself away from him but he was rock steady.

"We are not leaving here until you tell me who you are." He says and we stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity.

"Alpha, they are back!" Leonard ran into the room, smirking a bit when he saw the position we were in as if we were slow dancing.

"How many of them?" Malik voice was curt and sharp. But I could feel him tense under me.

"Only about six and four are seriously injured they might not make it through the night."

I looked up at his face there was no emotion it was like he didn't care, but it was shocking because I felt distressed and I knew it was because of him.

"Is she there?" He asked in a whisper.

"Yes! The healers are trying their hardest to safe the pup at least."

His breathing stopped, who the hell is she? His lover? Oh my gosh this little cheat!

This little cheat? What is wrong with me?

He released me immediately and ran with Leonard and I followed behind, hey chance at freedom and well to meet this 'she'.

Again, I have no idea why I care.

When I stepped outside the mansion it felt as if I was experiencing things afresh, the sun, breeze and nature. But the whole pack was up and about moving around. Everyone was excited and anxious and I was assuming it was because of the news.

"Alpha, in here she is asking for you." Leonard stated.

I ran to follow but stopped myself before it was too late, this was my chance to escape nobody was paying attention. Who cared about she, I hated him and I didn't care if he had a lover. I'm out of here.

I ran to the place of the bond fire because the ashes were still there and I looked around to see if I could recognise where they could have been keeping Aria.

I started to walk in the direction of the bushes and what do you know? I found something like a brick structure. I couldn't describe what it looked like but the entire thing gave me a weird vibe. As I walked forward, I saw a massive door.

Even though I knew it would be locked, I still tried to push it open and to my surprise it was!

Running inside I began to call for Aria. The place was dark, wet and full of holding cells, yet it was empty.

"Aria?" I yelled "Aria!"

"Iris?" A soft voice called back "in here." It was the fourth cell and I did not have any ideas on how to open the cage. It was made of concrete and a steel door. I couldn't do this the way that I would have preferred... and no matter how I look at it I would have to use it, my magic.

"Aria move back and close you eyes." I say.

"What? why?"

"I would rather you didn't see this." I explain.

"What?"

"Please just do it."

I took a deep breath, on a normal day I wouldn't have done this but desperate times. "Are your eyes closed?" I asked and she gave me a reluctant growl. I said the words just as I knew and as expect the metal scruched, squeezed and flew away from it hinges.

"Damn!" Aria yelled.

"Oh my Gosh, Aria!" I gasped she looked like a ghost her pale skin, paler and her eyes were sunken. "What the hell happened?"

"I couldn't heal properly for the first few days so I couldn't eat." She shrugged as it it was a normal thing.

I couldn't say anything, really. So I just swallowed and nodded.

"Well are you okay now?"

"Yeah but I've seen better days though." She said.

"Amen to that, let's get the hell out of here."

She smiled "what took you so long?"

I grabbed her and we ran out and started jogging into the woods and my began chest began to hurt with each step I took until I couldn't move anymore. Panting I placed my hands on my thighs and began to heave.

"Iris? Are you okay?" She asked.

"I... I don't know what is happening?" I choked out. I'm not very fit but living in the woods? I can't be this unfit!

"Has he marked you?" She asked and I lifted my head to look at her.

"No... don't bring him into this conversation. It's... shit, it's him isn't it?" I laugh. Stupid mate bond.

If it already felt this strong I wonder what I would feel when he eventually marks me. Damn I don't even want to think about that right now.

"Oh gosh" I panted as I set Aria down on a rock.

We had been running for hours and I found a river, at least it will be harder to smell me by water.

"You sure he can't smell you?"

"I don't know Aria, this was not exactly planned I just saw an opportunity and I took it." I said.

She closes her eyes and placed her hand on her head, "you know for such an old wolf you are pretty stupid." She spat viciously and stepped back in both defense and hurt.

"Look I didn't plan for anything I haven't been out of that house since I got in there okay and I could not leave you in the cell any longer. Sorry if I didn't let you stay longer and figure out a plan when the perfect opportunity presented itself, because it did and I took it." I huffed.
