I flop on my bed after dinner and a shower and grab my literature, I flip it open to a new chapter,
"Angels" I read aloud the name of the chapter and instantly images of my dream flash before my eyes. And although I still have those nightmares I've learned to live with them.
I still had no idea what they meant or why I had them but I've come to accept them. I try to pull the puzzle pieces together every day till my head aches, I pray that one day I'll understand why I have these dreams.
I read and munch on my Mars until I hear a knock on my door, I see a hand slide a paper through the bottom and I go over to pick it. I open it and it reads 'I love you' in a very neat handwriting,
"Cody" my heart melts and I pin the paper to my bathroom door, "I love you too" I kiss the paper and return to my reading.
"I don't like him" I glance at the boy Debbie points at,
"But he's cute" she whines. I'm happy she quickly forgot what happened yesterday, her mental strength is one thing I value and appreciate the most. "What about that one?" She points to a dark-skinned toned boy,
"Nope" my eyes contradict my words as they race round his body eating him up,
"Liar" Debbie playfully punches me, she glances again and just when a boy comes into the classroom she gasps, "what about him?" She turns my head to the boy that entered the classroom,
"Daylon? Ew!" I scoff as he takes his seat,
"Why not?! He's a major hottie!!" Debbie gives me a stupid grin,
The scenario we had played back and I shake my head trying to get the thought off, "I still don't like him"
"Morning Eris!" He greets from afar waving at me,
"Morning" I mindlessly say as I wave my hand back at him. Debbie clears her throat as she gives a goofy grin, "still doesn't count" I say sternly,
"Yeah, sure it doesn't. I bet he likes you too" she giggles,
"Ew"
Mrs. Brown comes in with a disturbed look on her face,
"What's wrong Mrs. Brown?" Daylon asks concerned,
"Eris, the principal wants to see you" her tone is dull. Debbie faces me with concern filled eyes and I place my hand on top of hers to calm her down,
"Sure. Let's go" I straighten my leather jacket with total badassery and follow Mrs. Brown to the principal's office. Daylon couldn't help but watch us until we were out the door. Guess he was curious.
I knew I was in deep shit. Just didn't know how deep it was.
It turns out Debbie's assaulter is some rich kid, his name is Victor Shane and his parents are very influential. He has a record of getting everything he wants, including girls too. He's not so tall with black hair and a bad attitude.
Let's call him another villain.
I knock on the door,
"Come in"
"Morning Principal Richard" I greet and I glance around the room and I see victor, a man who I suppose is his father and the principal. Victor had a smug grin plastered on his face,
"Eris do you know what you've done?" The principal asks his voice coarse,
"No" I simply answer,
"You punched victor and repeatedly slammed his head into a table yesterday. Why would you do that?!" The principal is angry,
"Because he was trying to sexually assault my sister" my expression is just as strong and stern as the principal. Mrs. Brown gives me a surprised expression,
"My son would never do that!!" The man slams his fist on the table,
"You weren't there sir, how would you know?" I calmly ask as I look into his soul. He is putting up an act with his shameless son,
"This girl is lying! Richard, I thought I knew you better, how can you tolerate something like her in your school?!"
"Don't be angry Hugo, she will be disciplined accordingly" he reassures, "you can leave now. I'll handle the matter justly" both father and son leave the office and Mrs. Brown and I are left,
"Principal Richard I know Eris would not lie, don't—"
"Mrs. Brown that's enough. She's clearly done something wrong and she needs to be punished for it"
I keep silent throughout their discussion, there is nothing to say really. He is an earthworm and I'm not surprised by his reaction.
"She'll be on two weeks detention starting from Monday with extra homework and no breaks. And you'll be the one to oversee" he finalizes,
"But principal Richard—" Mrs. Brown protests,
"That's all I have to say. You may leave" he dismisses,
"Thank you" a small smile plasters on my face and I walk out the door, Mrs. Brown following suit.
"Eris, you never told me all this!" She holds my hand and stares into my eyes,
"What can I say?" I smile at her, "I'm just happy she's alright" a tear falls from my left eye, she wipes the tear with her thumb,
"That's how you got this isn't it" she traces the cut near my lips, "my angel, you're so brave. I'm proud of you" she embraces me and I return the gesture.
We walk back to have Arts class and as we enter the class I see Daylon in my seat talking to Debbie. He sees me and gets up,
"Are you alright?" He asks,
"I'm fine thanks" but Debbie feels otherwise. She didn't like the aura I now possess,
"Okay class let's open our literature to the next chapter!" Mrs. Brown tries to lighten the atmosphere.
Daylon sits in his chair without his gaze shifting from me, he feels a thump in his chest and places his hand on it. He didn't understand the strange feeling that just occurred now but he was definitely concerned.
Arts class is over and I head to the clinic for my report, I knock on the door and Miss Ashley opens the door. She didn't look too happy either,
"Sit Eris" she points to one of the beds and I hop on it. She brings a chair closer to me and sits in it, she waves a file in front of me, "your reports are not good at all. Your cortisol levels are too high and your hormones are imbalanced. We might have to place you on Meds"
I don't say anything,
"Eris if there's anything wrong you know you can tell me" she reassures,
"Nothing," I say almost under my breath, "where are they?" I look around and she fetches the Meds. I groan, six packets in total each with thirty pills. All for stress?!?!??
"You'll have two shots a day. One in the morning and evening. Don't worry, four of the drugs are vitamin supplements, you can use those twice daily or once whichever is convenient and at any time. The remaining two are meant to be used once daily, in the morning and evening after your shots." She explains and hands me the medications, "you should be fine after using them. You can get started on Monday"
"Thanks," I say and walk out of the clinic with my medications inspecting each bottle and putting it into the white plastic bag after.
I enter the classroom that is now missing some kids,
"Oh right, geography," I say to myself and head over to my seat. I put the drugs on my table and I grab my phone,
"Um hey," a familiar voice echoes, and I see him.
