Chapter 12

"Hey" I dully respond and I put my phone down, he peers into the white plastic bag,

"All this for you?" Daylon asks,

"Yeah" I dully answer.

"Eris, I know you're on detention for two weeks" his gaze averts,

"How?"

"Victor, he came in boasting about it" he sighs,

"Ass"

My remark makes him chuckle, "if you ever need help you know where to find me" he places his hand on mine, I feel that aura again and he looks transfixed too,

"Yeah, thanks" I manage a smile.

"Daylon why are you talking to her?" I hear another familiar voice and I groan loudly, Lilac stands over us with arms crossed,

"Can't I talk to her anymore Lilac?" Daylon cocks his brow,

"She's not worth it" she scoffs and I roll my eyes, "wait to go scoring yourself detention Eris, you should've just left Debbie alone with Victor" she rolls her eyes to the side, my eyes widen,

"You knew about it?!" My blood felt hotter,

"Yeah, I teamed up with him. So what?" She has a grin on her lips. I grab her hair and yank it violently and she screams trying to free herself from my grasp,

"You belong in hell Lilac, hell!! The deepest parts of it!"

"Eris please leave her!" Daylon manages to remove my hand from her hair but I grab her by the neck, my nails almost sinking in her flesh,

"If anything happens to Debbie you will die Lilac. You. Will. Die" I push her away and she falls on the opposite seat coughing and holding her throat.

I pack my things and storm out in rage,

"Eris wait!" Daylon rushes after me,

"Daylon!" Lilac calls after him but he's gone.

"Eris! Eris!!" I ignore his callings, "Eris!!!" He comes in front of me and his gaze softens. My glare is deadly but the tears say otherwise, "Eris" he calls me softly, he touches my face and I notice the tears that had fallen. I cast my gaze downward,

"What do you want?" I ask fighting my tears back,

"I beg you to forgive Lilac, please"

"Lilac does not deserve forgiveness" I close my eyes and open them, "but I will because of you. She's had a warning, if anything happens to Debbie" I inhale and exhale, "then she can kiss her life goodbye" I go around him to somewhere quiet. I needed to vent my anger.

Break comes and I'm lost in thought,

"Eris" Debbie's voice snaps me back to reality, "I heard"

"It doesn't matter" I give a small smile and glance at my food, I wasn't really hungry,

"I can help with the homework" she offers placing her hand over mine,

"I can handle it no need to worry" I shrug,

"But I want to help Eris" Debbie protests, I smile,

"You want to help?" I ask and she nods, "all I need is your love right now" I rest my head on her shoulder,

"Oh Eris" she sheds a tear, "you're too good for earth" she runs her fingers in my Raven hair which makes me smile.

I gaze out of my window to the starry night sky and I see a shooting star, I smile and get cuddled up into bed. I check my phone and see a message from an unsaved number;

I'm outside your window. I want to talk to you

I quickly rub my eyes open to make sure I wasn't dreaming, I quickly wear a top and bum shorts and some flip flops and I jump down the window. I look around and I see a boy marveling at the stars,

"Daylon?!" I whisper, his head turns,

"Hey" he whispers back striding over to me,

"What are you doing here? How'd you get my number and my address???" I'm quizzical,

"Debbie" he smiles at me,

"She's toast"

"Here" he hands me the literature I forgot at school, I collect it,

"But you could've always waited till Monday to give me. Why now?" I look down at the book,

"Judging from your participation in Mrs. Brown's class you must read it a lot" he rubs the back of his head sheepishly,

"Thank you" he's actually bothered about me, I hold the book to my chest,

"No problem" he begins to leave, "don't stay up too late and save my number" and he vanishes in the darkness,

"Yeah, I will" I climb back to my window, slip into my birth attire and slide into my bed.

It was very nice of him to do such. Maybe we could be friends. I close my eyes and drift to sleep.

The school bell rings for lunch break and kids walk out of class,

"I can stay here with you if you want" Debbie cups my right cheek,

"There's no need for that. Go have lunch and rest" I open up a textbook, it's better to start with the homework now, "and please don't stay alone." I hold her hand, "if anything happens I'll be right there"

"But how did you know I was in trouble the last time??" The question hits me,

"I don't know. It's like I heard you calling me. Anyway, go" I usher and she leaves reluctantly. I sigh in my seat and pick up my pen, "maths first" I hum to myself solving the questions like an old riddle,

"Done" I drop my pen in satisfaction but it rolls off the table onto the floor. I bend over to pick it and I feel a strange aura overcome me. I slip off my chair and into someone's arms,

"Eris?"

"Um," I look up to see Daylon holding me tight as he gently tries to get me back to my seat, "thank you. I don't know what happened, I just felt weak all of a sudden" I mumble on,

"Here" he brings out a cupcake and some apple juice from his bag and puts it on my table, "if you have this you might feel better"

"I couldn't"

"You have to!" He is surprised at how high his voice went, "you have to, I'm just as worried" his tone very low and his eyes shifting. I give a small smile,

"Thank you" his eyes glitter at my words and he sits in front of me, my eyes widen, "aren't you going to have lunch?" I ask him,

"I'm not hungry" he waves it off,

"Excuse me" I place my hands in my hips, "hypocrite much," I say in a funny tone which makes him chuckle. I break the cupcake in half, "there's love in sharing" I stretch out my hand for him to take it,

"No I couldn't—" I shove the cupcake in his mouth and give him a death glare, he starts to chew immediately and swallows it, "that was very uncalled for" he rolls his eyes, I giggle and pout,

"Is that so?" I tease him, "take your half of the juice before I shove it down your throat" I show my smile bones, dip my hand in my bag and bring out my vitamins, "why Is it still there?"
