Since this is a ancient chinese inspired novel/setting, some information for those who are new to chinese novels:

I use chinese names for the characters. Each character has three names (Birth names are only revealed as used):

- Last name (eg. Lu, Fei, Yang)

- Birth name (eg. Yang's is Ye)

- Courtesy name. This is chosen when they come of age and is used thereafter. Only close people or those with lots of authority can use the birth name without disrespect. (Lu's is Qinyi, Fei's is Li, Yang's is Xun)

In this setting, robes are worn, like hanfu type clothing or the kind used in wuxia settings. They consist of at a minimum an outer robe and an inner robe. Inner robes are also used for pajamas. Chinese hair crowns are also used, like a metal (or other material) headband for holding up the hair. Unfortunately I can't include pictures so you lot will have to do some googling yourself.

The salutes used refer to the fist-palm salute used to show respect.

Men and women alike grow their hair long.

Putting an A (some people translate this to how it sounds which is Ah) or an -er at the end of a name are ways to express familiarity, like a nickname. (eg. A-Jiao or Jin-er)

There will be more translations/translation reminders at the bottom of relevant chapters.

Again, no offense is meant and if there is anything wrong or just bothersome, let me know.
