Chapter 54

We headed out after having breakfast. The first place we stopped was Harbour quay. We wandered the shops and got some donuts from the Donut Shop. The candy store next to it always made me ill from how much sugar was in the air, but my parents walked in nonetheless.

We climbed the stairs to the top of the old clock tower in the quay, you had a great view of the inlet from here.

We didn't talk much but it was nice.

The next stop was the odd craft shops around. My mom got a few rocks with inspirational words and doodads for her indoor plants.

The last stop was the itty bitty aquarium that our town boasted. We walked into the blue and green painted building and paid to walk through the small space.

I had to admit that the few animals they had were cool. There was a wolf eel and a few jellyfish, some snails and some fish that I did not know the names of.

At the back of the building there were touch tanks, I told Raph to touch the anemone, he gave me a look, "You know, I was raised in BC too. I have touched anemones and starfish before."

I gave him a pout and he sighed and pulled up his sleeves, he touched the anemone and it's tentacles latched onto his finger, "There you happy?"

"Extremely." I said smiling.

My parents stood back and watched our fun silently.

We left the aquarium and piled back into the van. "So where to now?" I asked, holding onto Raph's hand.

"Lunch." My dad said as he put his sunglasses on.

"Where's lunch?" I asked.

"You'll see." He replied mysteriously.

As we neared the location I realized where we were going. "The Fish'n'chip place" the best fish'n'chips place in town. And one of the only fish'n'chips places.

My mom always drove because of how bad her motion sickness was. She parked and we exited the car.

We entered the restaurant and ordered fish'n'chips. Me and my mom got a one piece because that was all we could eat, my dad got a grilled salmon, and Raph had a two piece.

We sat next to each other, my mom across from me, and my dad across from Raph. The restaurant used to be a church so the windows and layout of it was strange. But they made good food.

We finished eating and drove to the museum.

The museum, library and pool were all in one building, the library being right next to the museum. We walked into the dimly lit museum, it was always dark because of the First Nation woven baskets that were on display. We paid and began exploring.

There were two levels to the museum, the first had baskets and other First Nation creations like canoes and such. The room after had old kitchen stoves and washing machines, a couple suitcases and a mahjong set. Just weird little things.

The second level had the chainsaws a marionette play act, old clothes and a whole area dedicated to the world wars, and the queen.

Once done with the riveting museum visit we left and headed out of town to one of our most famous trails, "The Hole in the Wall" we parked next to the ice cream parlour that was built next to it.

We walked down the steep path and me and my dad joked about the time we had come here and Brad had kept joking that we needed a stairlift for this path.

I glanced back at Raph and saw a small smile on his lips. I thought back to when I had kissed him this morning, in front of my parents! What had I been thinking?! I blushed, embarrassed of my behaviour this morning.

We reached the bottom finally and observed the hole in the wall. It was a few meters tall and around two and a half metres wide, the hole had been drilled through the slate rock years ago and now had been eroded through the years to have a stream flowing through it and into a crystal, clear pool at our feet. There were trees and moss surrounding it, creating the perfect picture.

The sun was shining down on the pool and it glinted off of it beautifully. We walked further along the dirt path and came to another part of the stream.

This one was shallower and had rocks everywhere. On top of those rocks were inukshuks. And other assorted statues. Every time we came here we would always try and build one, but we'd only get four rocks down before it tumbled yo the ground.

When we were back at the car we decided to go for ice cream. I wasn't sure if I could, I'd had donuts and greasy fish'n'chips, but I could handle some ice cream, sure.

I got my favourite flavours; sea salt caramel and cookie dough. My dad got vanilla gelato, my mom got her favourite; vanilla and moose tracks. Raph got both of the ones with licorice. Me, and my mom's least favourite flavour in the world.

-I'm not kissing you if you eat that.- I said to him. He turned and smirked at me, -You know you will.-

I twisted my lips in annoyance, -Yeah, I probably will,- 'And I'll will probably learn to like licorice.' I thought to myself.

I ate my ice cream slowly and when we left I did really feel ill.

To much sweets.

I focused on the road ahead of me, to try and keep my motion sickness in control, taking shallow breaths and not moving. We reached home without incident. And I immediately rushed in to get a cup of water.

Raph came to my side, "Hey, you okay?"

"Mmhmm." I nodded while drinking. Then took a deep breath. You see, ever since I could remember I was unable to breathe through my nose while drinking, apparently this is not how normal people drink. So if I want to take a long drink I have to take a deep breath.

-Just a little nauseous.- I put my cup down, "But I'll be fine."

"Okay, good. Cause the Alpha called last night and said that he wanted us home Tuesday." He put his hands on my arms to steady me.

I cocked my head to the left, "But… the party is on Wednesday. I can't leave before then."

"I was thinking, maybe you could tell your parents to move it up a day."

"But, wouldn't that seem like I'm trying to get away from them, you know, faster."

He laughed, I looked up at him annoyed.

"Maybe, but we'll be home sooner, and Charm has a protection spell over the entire Pack that will stop the Elf from coming." His voice turned serious when he mentioned the Elf.

"Wait…" I recalled that it had been a different Elf last night, "Last night, it wasn't the same Elf. This one was blonde with, "I swallowed, remembering his eyes, "With blue eyes."

Raph tensed, "What did he say?" He asked stiffly.

"The same thing the last one said, 'What are you?'"

He dropped his hands, "I have to call the Alpha." He walked away, "And tell your parents about Tuesday."

"But Raph!" I whined.
