Chapter 84

Ulyssa volunteered and disappeared behind the curtain.

"So, did you hear that Ulyssa's guy works in jewelry and he only sells fakes." Mary said.

"No! I didn't even know she had a guy! But speaking of jewelry." I raised my left hand.

A round of squeals followed as everyone came and held my hand checking out my ring.

"It's gorgeous!"

"It's so big!"

"Wow!"

"So lucky."

I smiled and looked at Charm who smiled back.

"Okay, guys! What do you think?" Ulyssa called from the centre of the carpet where she was standing wearing a long, wine coloured, off shoulder dress that showcased her flawless skin and tiny waist.

"Oh, Lys, that looks great." I said and everyone else agreed.

"Is that the one you're getting?" I asked.

"Yeah, I think so. If it's okay with the bride." She said looking down admiring her dress.

"Yeah, it's fine with me." I said crossing my legs and resting my hands on my knee.

She squealed and ran, as fast as she could in the near floor length dress, back into the change room.

"Next!" Ann's voice called from the same room. Julie asked if she could go next, we all nodded. She put her purse down and pranced off to the room.

"So how do you two know each other?" My mom asked glancing between me and Charm.

"Oh, uh…" I struggled for awhile on how to phrase it, I glanced at Charm and she shrugged, "She's my fiancé's boss's wife." I said.

"Oh." My mom said, "How'd you meet?"

"Well, Raph and Thresh, her husband, live fairly close to each other." I said.

"Try three hundred metres." I heard Charm mutter.

"Shh." I said, though I was laughing.

Ulyssa came and sat down and Julie appeared wearing a pointed scoop neck with petal sleeves the same colour that Ulyssa's dress had been.

"Oh, that looks wonderful!" Mary said to her sister.

"Really, you think so?" Julie asked.

"Yes, and you found one the right length." Mary said a playful smile on her lips.

"Haha, can I get this one Brooke?" She asked.

"Of course, my only rule is they have to be modest and floor length, and all the same colour." I said.

Julie clapped her hands and spun around in her dress which flared out a bit, then she returned to the change room.

"Next!" Ann called.

Mary got up and looked back at us for confirmation, she had always been a little bit shy compared to her sister. We nodded and she entered the room.

"So, did you hear that Jen got pregnant." Ulyssa asked covering her mouth a bit. Jen was a close friend of the Dust sisters.

"No. Really?" I asked. Jen had always been a very shy girl who never drew attention to herself.

Ulyssa nodded, "Yeah." She was about to say something else but Julie came back and she shut her mouth.

"Well, speaking of pregnancies," I glanced at Charm and she nodded, I could see that Julie had a skeptical expression on her face, "Charm is pregnant with her and Thresh's first child." I said happily.

"Oh, congratulations!" Everyone showered their happiness on Charm who smiled bashfully.

"I was gonna say that you looked glowing." My mom said.

I choked a bit and said to divert the subject, "And you know, Thresh is the most sweet I've ever seen him. I had no idea he could be so caring." I said.

"Oh, well they tend to be caring people, as I am sure you well know." Charm muttered but the other ladies caught it as well.

I laughed, "Oh yes, extremely caring." I said as we both glanced back at the two Lycans assigned at the doorway. I could hear their mind links and they had said quite a few flattering words about Julie.

My mom gave me a confused look, "Oh nothing, it's just that our, ahem, guys are very similar." I said and me and Charm giggled again.

Mary walked out and we all watched in silence as she spun and stroked the wine coloured fabric, "It looks lovely Mary." I said as she raised her arms. She had spaghetti straps and butterfly sleeves draping off her shoulders. With a slight scoop neck, not as dramatic as Julie's had been.

Mary smiled and nodded then turned back into the change room.

"Next!"

"Charm? Judith?" I looked at the both of them, "Who's going next?"

"I can go." Judith said as she rose from the white couch.

Charm nodded and Judith headed to the curtained door. I think she was excited, couldn't really tell though. A part of me thought that maybe she was jealous of me getting married first, but I didn't think she was that petty.

Mary came back out and sat down quietly next to her sister.

"After this we are going to get lingerie and then have lunch." I announced to the ladies.

Judith appeared and she looked more beautiful than I'd ever seen my sister look. She was wearing a strapless wine coloured dress with fabric wrapping around her chest and then the skirt draped down to her toes.

"Oh, you look gorgeous, Judith." My mother said. She really did.

She smiled and looked down at her dress, "Do you think it's too immodest?" She asked meeting our mother's eyes.

"No," my mom waved her hand, "You look wonderful."

All of us nodded in ascent.

She smiled and turned back into the room.

"Next!"

"I might as well get this over with." Charm said as she floated off of her seat next to me. She walked gracefully to the change room.

Judith returned and we waited for Charm.

She soon appeared wearing a wine coloured, boatneck, empire waisted dress with a ribbon tied below the bust. Above the ribbon the fabric changed into a flowery lace over her bust.

"The red does not quite suit my complexion and hair but the dress is lovely." Charm said as she felt the lace.

"It is, and it fits perfectly." I said.

"Yes. This was one of their last maternity dresses. I am not that big yet, but I probably will be in January. So the fabric has elastic." She explained.

I nodded, "Thresh will love to see you in that I'm sure."

She smiled, "Thank you."

"Next!" Ann yelled as Charm walked back in.

"Ho, boy." I said as I got up.
