Chapter 138

It's hands were outstretched ready to grab Thomas. I froze and stopped breathing as it's long, bony fingers reached to wrap around his throat.

"Brooke, Brooke. Brooke!"

I shook my head and looked up at Thomas, the Elf was gone and I looked at the doorway in shock.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I looked back at him, "I-I…"

"Did yo-? Did you see something?" He asked as he circled the island.

I swallowed, "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, I-I-I just, I just…" I sighed and put on a smile, "Sorry, I just spaced out." I tucked my hair behind my ear and moved to begin cooking the vegetables.

"Brooke, did you see something?" He asked me.

I stared at the frying pan hollowly.

"Hey, it's okay. You can tell me." He hopped up on the counter, "After," He let out a big sigh, "After that Elf got in my head, I saw him for awhile. In my house, in my yard, almost everywhere I went."

I looked up at him, I'd almost forgotten that he'd been through such a traumatic thing.

"I saw an Elf." I whispered.

He nodded.

"He was trying to strangle you." I said.

He looked at me and I saw an understanding that helped, a lot.

"Was that why you yelped in the entryway when you first came in?" He asked.

I nodded as I began whisking the eggs.

-Honey, do you want two or three eggs?- I asked Raph while Thomas continued talking.

-Three. Are you okay?- He asked.

My heart softened at his words, -Yes, I'm fine. You be patient I'm making you an awesome frittata.- I smiled softly as I poured the whisked eggs in.

"Woah, so that wasn't something to smile at." I heard Thomas say.

I snapped myself out of it, "Oh! No, I'm sorry I got distracted. Sorry, what were you saying?"

He smiled like he knew that I was thinking of Raph.

"Sure, yeah okay. Anyway, what are you making for us normal people?" He asked rubbing his hands together.

The corner of my lips rose, "Check the fridge."

"Ah, yes," He hopped down from the counter, "The plethora of leftovers." He opened the fridge and stuck a plate of rice and sweet and sour in the microwave.

I popped Raph's frittata in the oven and it was done in twenty minutes.

I said goodnight to Thomas and then walked upstairs carrying the veggie filled frittata on a heat pad.

I walked into our room and saw him sitting at the small desk with Parker on his lap.

"Awwww, you guys getting in your snuggle time." I said setting the frittata down on the desk.

"Hmm, yes." He replied looking up at me. His lips… they looked so delicious.

I lowered my face down and kissed him, I immediately felt him begin to move with me, our lips moving together and I felt it again, his teeth were elongating. I smiled and pressed my body against his as I pulled his head down.

He opened his mouth more and began to massage my mark and waist. I gasped and felt him smile against my lips.

"You." I said panting. He was panting too, and sweating. I checked his forehead. It was really, really warm.

"Uh oh." I said as I checked again, "Oh no. No, no, no, no, no."

I stood up and looked at him, he looked fine but was smilingly a daze and his hair looked damp from sweat.

"Ohhhhkay. Come on baby, back to bed." I said as I reached for his crutches.

He looked up at me, "But I'm eating right now love, I'm fine." He was still smiling and looking at me in a way that caused my body to heat.

I took a breath, "Yeah, okay. We'll finish eating and then go back to bed"

He started eating happily and soon finished the whole frittata. I stood there shocked and amazed, that was a big frittata.

"Anyways." I muttered as I walked towards him, "Come on honey, let's go back into bed."

I held his crutches out to him, "Was it a bad kiss?" He asked with a slight slur to his words and he was panting a lot. 'Oh, honey. Just please get into the bed.'

I crouched down in front of him, "No honey, you have a fever and you are sweating and panting and I don't think that it's a good idea right now, okay?"

"Did you not like it?" He asked slouching in his seat, "Because I'd be willing to try again." He smiled and I really did want to try again but first, he had to be a little safer. Like on the bed for example.

I looked at the distance between the chair and the bed, 'Why did Mark and Nathan have to leave yesterday?' I asked, 'Because we thought that we were in the clear.' I answered.

"Honey," I pulled the chair out, man he weighed a lot, I walked in front of him, and held his sweaty hands, "You need to get to the bed okay. Now come on, take your crutches and I'll help you walk to the bed okay."

His eyes were hazy and I felt his forehead again, oh my goodness this was fast.

I was doing my best not to panic but my breath was already shrill.

"Why is it so hot?" Raph asked as he was attempting to take his shirt off, "Okay, okay. Let me help you." I said as he fumbled.

After removing his shirt he wanted to take all of his clothes off.

"No, no. Raph, you can't take everything off okay." I said holding his hands down on the chair, "No, Raph stop it!"

He was still much stronger than me and quickly shoved my hands off of his.

"Raph please, please! Sit still, you're going to hurt yourself." I didn't have time to get my phone to call Thomas or the boys.

-Thomas! Thomas!- I yelled at him. It was difficult to open a channel so far away but I could do it.

-Oh my-! What the fu-?- He exclaimed.

-Thomas, Raph's got a fever and he's trying to walk I can't hold him down.-

-Hey, yeah okay. Don't panic I'll be right there.- I could sense his confusion and panic and confusion.

I looked back at Raph, he was raising himself to stand.

"No, no, stop it. You have to sit, stop it!"

"I'm here."

I yelped at the sudden announcement.

Putting a hand to my chest I said, "Could you please help to move him to the bed?"

"Yeah, how'd he get like this so fast?" He asked as he lifted my husband up and moved him to the bed.

"I-I don't know. I came up and he looked fine but he started to just, just look bad and sick and he has a fever I need to call Gloria and give him his ibuprofen and Tylenol."

Thomas came up to me after resting Raph on the bed, "Okay, you need to breathe. I'll call Gloria and you help your mate, okay."

I looked at Raph sweating and panting on the sheets.

"Yeah, okay." I breathed and went to give Raph his pills while Thomas called Gloria.

I sprinted to the bathroom and grabbed a damp cloth for him.

"Ugh, why is it so hot?" Raph said as he rolled over on the bed.

"Okay, Raph, honey, Gloria's on her way okay. Just-" I grabbed his shoulders and hovered over him, oh, he was way to warm, "Please, for me, could you please lie still. Just a few seconds more." I gave him a kiss and then moved a chair to sit next to him.

My poor baby. He's probably never had a fever in his life.
