Chapter 150

Raph walked up to me and I had to look up at him while he spoke.

"Could you go back to the cabin love, maybe make some snacks or cookies for us?" He asked, holding my chin.

I looked at him a little annoyed, "I am not going to stand on the sidelines, and I do not want to be alone."

"But you're safer that way."

"You'll be here to protect me."

"But what if I can't?"

I paused and looked up at him lovingly, "You will. Okay, darling you will protect me."

I could see how nervous he was about this.

"Mark and Nathan will watch you twenty-four/seven, okay?"

I nodded, "Okay." I gave him a quick kiss and then we walked to where we would be the rest of the day.

The strategy tent.

It was a huge canvas tent with other weather protection and such added to it. It sat on a cliff overhanging where the pass was. Where the Elves had come through.

The special thing about it was that the front of it was open to the forest below with a plastic screen covering it, so we could see what was happening. I couldn't, but the Lycans with good eyesight could.

There were tables set up all across it with maps and other things. There were also heaters along the walls. We were all wearing chains. I had mine from Raph on and he was wearing a silver one.

I looked out of the tent and down at the forest below frosted with snow.

"Where are they?" I asked in a whisper.

I saw Raph point to a narrow pass to the south, a small lake was nestled near it which was what we hoped could be used to conduct Thresh'a gift.

I narrowed my eyes, "That seems too easy."

Raph didn't reply and I looked up at him next to me, "I know."

Thresh made his way through the trees slowly and with purpose to where the Elves along with their Shapeshifter brood had been spotted.

His Gamma right behind him, disguised.

Coming to the small lake that had ice forming along the edges he shifted to human form and crouched to check the thickness.

It would do, he decided.

Rising to his feet he saw the Elf. His blonde hair was tied back and his blue eyes watched him carefully from across the lake. As Thresh was a Lycan, he could see it's true form. The skeleton held it's glamorous appearance.

Thresh made no move of attack to the vile creature before him and stood his ground.

"Ah, after all these years, we're right back where we started." The Elf spoke, his voice distorted and his blue eyes mocking.

Thresh only watched and did not give him the satisfaction of a response. The creature deserved no such thing.

The smirk on the creature's face lingered and he spoke once more across the still waters, a thin mist covering the surface. Thresh knew the mist to be an Elven weapon and warned the Lycans hidden in the trees behind him.

"I've heard tale of your seeking your brothers help. They did not help you so long ago, did you expect them to help you now?"

Thresh's face remained impassive as he stared across the lake.

"But…" The Elf said with a chuckle, "I can say that I have missed this."

He disappeared from his sight and Thresh shifted, ready for an attack.

The next instant the forest exploded and hundreds of Shapeshifters burst from the trees.

Without hesitation Thresh dove his front paws into the water and the sea creatures that had begun to swim in it spasmed and collapsed, either dead or unconscious.

All around was chaos as animal after animal was slaughtered.

Thresh moved as quickly as he could to slay as many foes as possible to save his Pack from getting the brunt of it.

Seeing an eagle plunging for one of his Lycans he leapt forward and grabbed it by the neck, the metallic taste of blood entered his mouth as he clamped down for a death grip. The eagle went limp in his jaws as it shifted back to human.

Thresh glanced and saw that the Lycan hadn't moved, the sounds of bones crunching and animal calls were filling the air. He walked to where the Lycan was.

-Are you alright?- He asked as he surveyed the wolf's body for injuries.

-I believe my leg's been broken Alpha.- He replied.

Thresh raised his snout and searched for a healer, -Malcom,- He called, -Forty metres from the lake.- He said and without waiting for a reply he continued on in the battle.

Meanwhile in a similar situation, Kratos was battling a massive elephant.

A smirk in his blue wolf eyes he circled the behemoth in his near white, silver wolf.

The creature's eyes were angry as it watched the large Lycan warily. It could scent that this one was an Alpha, though a very powerful one that it'd never seen before.

Kratos tapped into her mind easily and discovered it's weaknesses, her back right leg was recovering from and injury and she couldn't see very well out of her left eye. Informing the Lycans around him he waited for the moment to strike.

Without warning Kratos jumped for the elephant and attacked it's right leg ruthlessly.

On cue a force of Lycans that had been lying in wait attacked the elephant and the large animal went down as it slowly began to miraculously shift into a human sized female, dead.

Brooke watched in silent horror as the forest beneath trembled and quaked from the mess of battle. Her heart clenched with every channel that died and tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she could hardly tell which were Lycan and which were the enemy. To her, they were only people who were dying.
