The Subic Murder Case

Evo's POV

I took a deep breath as I stood in front of the girls' room. I didn't want to knock because the girls might wake up, so I took out my phone and planned to call Kaycee. But suddenly, the door opened, and Kaycee came out, as did Bella.

I stared at what they were both wearing. They were wearing sleeping pajama suits. They both had messy hair as if they had just gotten out of bed. They don't have what I want.

I wanted to laugh. For Bella, they wore a pair of baby blue pajamas with a Sichan print, and for Kaycee, they wore a yellow pair with a banana print. They also wore their slippers, and Kaycee had her hair in a ponytail. Both of them are very simple, but their charms are unique. They are opposites in everything. They are like fire, ice, good, evil, life, and death. When they work together, they move smoothly, as if they planned every word.

"Is there a problem with what we're wearing?" Bella asked.

"I think there is. Look at what he's wearing." Kaycee said.

"It's okay where you're comfortable. Anyway, go outside first, and I'll get something."

The two women did not complain; instead, they walked towards the elevator. I went inside the room and got hoodies for both of them. The air on the beach is cold in the early morning, so they will both feel cold. I didn't give them instructions on how to gather their belongings because Bella, who has limited patience, might change her mind.

As I exited the hotel, a cool breeze greeted me as I stepped out the door. They were surprised when I grabbed their arms to stop them from walking.

"Why?" Bella asked.

I handed over the hoodie I was carrying. The two looked at each other before putting on the hoodie. They were a little surprised when I fixed the hoodie while they were wearing it. I'm not sure what was going through Bella's mind while I was fixing her hoodie, but I felt nervous when I fixed Kaycee's. I looked at her and then smiled. Kaycee's mind is strong, as evidenced by my inability to read her, no matter how often I try. I can still enter her mind as if she's allowing me to read her. I can't deny that I admire Kaycee for that. I wonder if his strong mental foundation prevented him from encountering any problems in life.

"It's cold," I said, putting the jacket hood on their heads. "You might get sick. I don't want to mess with you two."

Bella's POV

I smelled Evo's fragrance on his jacket. It isn't as unpleasant as my uncle's. He smelled fresh and masculine, which is what she likes.

'Geez, it's different when it's rich people's perfume.' I thought.

"Your jacket smells good," Kaycee said.

"Really? Thanks." Evo said.

We continued to walk. Kaycee and Evo were constantly talking, and I was listening. We had no idea where Evo would take us; he just told us to walk, so we did. Kaycee was still playing with the sand, while Evo was amazed at what she was doing. She can make the sands float in the air as if there were no gravity on earth. Kaycee is strong, and I know that. That's why she is an excellent asset to my uncle and me. Like Evo, Kaycee comes from a wealthy family, and her parents are my uncle's friends, whose uncle once saved us from an accident when we were young. Since then, even though Kaycee and I are opposites, we have never had a problem with each other. We worked professionally, like legit detectives.

We passed by an old house on the other side of the resort. There were police cars there, so it looked like something had happened.

"It looks like something happened there," Kaycee said.

Kaycee and I immediately made our way towards that location. "Wait." Evo quickly followed her.

When we got close to the crime scene, the police immediately stopped us. The police don't allow us inside the house. That's why we waited for news from outside about what happened inside.

Evo's POV

"Mister, what happened inside?" I asked. The police didn't respond to her inquiry. Bella turned to Kaycee, and I noticed her hand moving. I scowled at her actions, interpreting them as gestures until a loud noise from the police car startled everyone. The vehicle fell from the sky, causing an audible alarm that caught everyone's attention. Bella quickly ran, and Kaycee grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to the house.

We approached the house, and Bella looked for a possible passage. I asked the police, who had left the house, to investigate their car's situation. I heard a cracking sound and turned to Kaycee. She used kinesis to remove the window screws, and I could see them falling out the other side.

'Wow!'

"Wait a moment, guys. What are you doing?" I asked.

"Can't you see? Someone got killed." Bella said.

"I know. And there are police, right?" I turned to Kaycee again and helped her lower the window glass to the floor so it wouldn't break. "Do you want to be arrested?"

Bella looked at me with a frown. "I am aware of the potential for arrest. I know about the laws." Bella said.

"Kaycee outlined the essential knowledge a detective must possess. Know the law. If you know something about the law, you can defend yourself against it. That's your second advantage in everything."

I turned to Bella, who quickly went up to the window. "Did you think I joined your outing just for fun? It's part of your training. Come on, climb up, and let's solve the case." Kaycee said.

'Damn, is this part of my test to join their team? But we're on vacation, for Pete's sake!' I thought.

Kaycee's POV

We were leaning against the wall near the police, and the victim was in the other room. We could hear their conversation and see what they were doing in the mirror. I arranged for them to see their reflections from where we were hiding.

The policeman stood before the corpse, lying on the sofa with a neck wound. The female victim was young, approximately 19 to 23 years old.

"Sir, this is the same case that happened in the same house in 1981."

"Really?" asked the police. "How did you know about that? We weren't police at that time."

"That's because my father handled the case back then," he said.

"SPO3 Agoncillo. Yes, your father was a decent policeman in his time."

"There was insufficient evidence to close the case. Everyone believed a vampire had killed the female victim before, but my father didn't. He didn't believe in the supernatural either."

The police did not answer. He sat down and poked at the wound.

"The forensic team has taken a sample of the corpse. If it's a tooth, it's just saliva."

The police left the two men and looked around the house. We immediately hid so the police wouldn't see us. We secretly followed the police as they circled inside the house. The report said the house did not belong to the hotel, so we discovered it was private. The place looks old and haunted from the outside, but inside, it's clean and tidy. A picture of the man, believed to be the house's original owner, has strange things surrounding it. The police officer wanders around and discovers a coffin in a library room. The casket looks like one out of a horror film. The police discover an eerie book, a lit candle, and an upside-down crucifix that resembles an altar. The police even approached the objects in the bottle to determine their purpose.

"Jeez, what are these?"

When it finally understood what it was, its frown turned to disgust. It stepped back and turned to all the bottles in the room. Everything inside the bottle is part of the human body, even the internal organs.

'Damn, the culprit is a psycho.'
