CH14 (144), Surprising News

The surprise attack was so sudden that I was like "what did you say" with the "a" in say being stretched out. I mean he just suddenly threw me the info in the face as if he was mentioning something unimportant. It happened like this.

After we woke on Kyoday, the day after signing the contract, we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. We were talking about what we should do during the 2 days we had left Rota.

The hotel was already paid for, so there was no need to waste that. The topic of the arena, practically a stadium but more classic looking, came up among places we could visit.

He went like, "We could visit the arena, I heard the Aaron Academy sometimes uses it for academy tournaments, so you would get to have an early glimpse of it."

I nodded at that seeing nothing wrong with it, and then it just escalated.

"Oh, since we mentioned your time at the Academy let me tell you about the decision your mother and I made." He said with a mischievous tone.

I was like alright I know that tone, thinking he would come out with something like we decided to stay over at your place every second weekend or something like that. What I got instead was this.

"Yeah, once your term begins me and your mom are going to resume our journey." He said in a joyous tone and I froze.

Mikail.exe just shut down for a moment. Now, most people would say something like you're exaggerating. They are just going to go on a journey while you are off to the academy. It's not like they haven't been on one before.

To that, I can just say I froze because for that one moment all I felt was fear. Thanks to my wishes working as intended and to some part thanks to the memories I got from baby/toddler me, I loved my parents.

Hard not to when you live as well as spent time together with people who genuinely love you and care for you. The reason I felt fear at that moment was exactly due to the love I felt towards them.

This was the perfect setting for a tragic backstory development. The child goes to a live in school while his/her parents go out exploring only to die for one reason or another. I mean dad even has the old family that he spurned that may or may not try something funny.

So, I froze. Because the thought that they may die just because of some kind of destiny or whatever thought I might need some trauma to get me really going just popped into my mind.

I knew that I explicitly wished for the absence of any childhood drama, but I was rapidly growing due to the aura and my mind had more or less returned to the level of a proper young adult because the young body/biology did have a bit of an impact on the mentality of a person as I had personally noticed.

So, I was at that moment not sure if that meant my childhood was over and I was free to experience an immediate post-childhood trauma. However, my sudden fear started to give way to my logic and I quickly found a counterargument.

I said I wanted a trauma-free childhood and that meant I was safe until the childhood was over. Now, logically the childhood here was following the standards of Terra since that was where said childhood would take place.

That meant there were two ways childhood could be taken as. The first would be from my perspective and the second would be from the perspective of the humans on Terra. Thankfully, those two perspectives were the same in this case.

The childhood was over once they were ready to begin their journey, so around 15 and 16. This meant my wish was still active. Once I reached that conclusion my system began rebooting.

All those thought processes took me only a few seconds in reality. I knew this because of what happened when I looked at my parents. I focused back on my father, I saw him looking at me with a bit of concern, while my mother was in the process of getting up, presumably to move towards me.

"Son, everything alright? You just completely froze there for a few seconds." He asked with concern in his voice.

My mother, who came over to me touched my cheek and asked if I was fine as well. When I nodded in assurance she turned towards my father and scolded him a bit.

"I told you that we shouldn't just surprise him with the news, but you thought it would be funny." She began, and I patted her hands before she could continue.

As funny as it always was to see my father getting scolded by my mother, this was not really his fault. He couldn't have known I would have reacted like that and nothing I had done until now had indicated I would react like that either.

On the contrary, my behavior until now would have told him that I would be surprised but just laugh it off, not suddenly freeze.

"It's fine mom. The news just surprised me. What brought the whole journey thing about?" I reassured her before posing my question.

"I'll tell you about it in our room. Let's finish breakfast first." Dad said and we did just that.

After dinner, we went up to our room and my father called out Cell who briefly looked through the room before nodding towards my father, who thanked him before recalling him. When he saw my tilted head he just shrugged.

"Safety precaution since I'm going to mention some sensitive stuff. Cell just checked if there was anything in the room that shouldn't be here. He gave me the "all-clear", so we are fine. Actually, that result is kinda the norm, but it doesn't hurt to check," was what he said.

After that, they began to tell me about the reason for their decision and about their talk on the topic that led to the final decision. I nodded along and once they were done showed/told them that they had a green light from me.

It did make sense after all, and I had noticed that the progress of some of their Pokemon had slowed down a lot. Moreover, mom actually fulfilled the strength requirement for the Expert-class, but because she did not have the necessary badge or the contribution points to compensate for that, she couldn't rank up.

The same would be true for my father as well, once his Pokemon would reach the strength requirement for the ACE-class, which was to have at least 3 (low) dark gold-stage Pokemon.

He wasn't that far off and I believed that in at most 5 to 8 years he would succeed. That was actually pretty impressive. Dad was currently thirty, and in 5-8 years he would be 35 to 38 years old.

The reason I gave such a "large" estimate was that the difficulty of improvement seemed to increase by quite a bit with each stage. Dad was honestly considered really fast with the way he was progressing.

35-38 was young for an Ace trainer since most talented people reached that point around 50. A majority of those that successfully reached the class took even longer than that.

That dad's progress got slowed down due to the whole family business that cropped up made it even more impressive. Their second journey would probably shorten that time.

Actually, both my parents had an impressive roster, even if dad's roster was the more impressive one. At the moment he had 10 Pokemon, but I knew that he was considering adding 3 more when the opportunity showed himself.

His current rosters had made pretty great progress before it started to slow down a lot. Titan, his Nidoking, had reached the (high) gold stage while his potential stayed blue. Duke, his Crobat, had reached the (high) gold stage as well, while his potential had improved from light blue to blue.

That one actually took a long while considering he already had light blue potential when I saw him the first time which was over 6 years ago. Then came his last (high) gold-stage Pokemon, Skye. As for her potential, it remained light blue.

He also had 5 (mid) gold-stage Pokemon. Agni, his Arcanine, with light blue potential. Azure, his Kingdra, with deep green potential. Cell, his Magnezone, with deep green potential. Vibra, his Rhydon, with deep green potential, and Kaiyo, his Lapras, also with deep green potential.

Finally, there were his "weaker" two Pokemon even if one of them was "weak" because he simply did not have it for that long. There was Cyan, his Butterfree, at the (high) silver stage with deep yellow potential.

In my opinion, Cyan would be able to break through to the (low) gold stage in a year or two as well. However, due to his current potential (high) gold was his limit and after he reached the gold stage his progress would slow down even more.

The final one was the Lotad I had given him. Lono, his Lombre, was at the (low) silver stage and had deep green potential as well. It was really unbelievable, except for Cyan the worst potential among his Pokemon was deep green.

Two actually had blue potential, and another two had light blue potential. Together with their strength, my father was actually better than many of the top geniuses from the top clans/families or groups.

Mom's group had made pretty good progress as well. She had 9 Pokemon in total. 3 of them were at the (mid) gold stage. Those 3 were, Titania, her Nidoqueen, with blue potential. Rivers, her Poliwrath, with light blue potential, and finally Aomi, her Lapras, with deep green potential.

There was Emerald, her Butterfree, was at the (low) gold stage and had green potential. Followed by 3 (high) silver-stage Pokemon. Star, her Starmie, with green potential. Epona, her Rapidash, with light blue potential, and Sora, her Fearow, with blue potential.

Her final two Pokemon were at the (mid) silver stage. Those two were Sunny, her Vileplume, with deep yellow potential, and Touji, her Sneasel with green potential.

Yeah, while not as impressive as his father, his mother was good enough to keep up with the geniuses of the big families/clans and groups. As I said she and her Pokemon were strong enough, she just didn't fulfill the other conditions for advancement.

Anyway, we spent the rest of the weekend after that reveal behaving like tourists and returned home on Grouday after dinner in a restaurant. Just three days later was my 8th birthday.

It was a small party, simply because I had no friends close to my age except for Rose. I had a lot of acquaintances that I made using my aliases, but only around 10 of those I would consider friends.

Of those 10, only Aaron and Jessica knew about my real identity for now. Since Aaron was on a mission only Jessica could come to my birthday party. So, there were just me, my parents, Rose with her parents, and Jessica.

I liked it this way, to be honest. Never liked it when parties turned too large. I rather preferred a small, nice gathering. 10-15 people were the best number of attendees in my opinion.

Now, the reason Jessica knew my identity was that I had decided to tell her about it roughly 6 months ago. Over the years we had gotten much closer, as friends obviously, and 6 months ago she told me something about herself that made me tell her about myself as well.

Jessica told me about her family. Apparently, she was a branch member of the Joy family. While the Joy family was matriarchal, which meant the family head was female, that did not mean that the males were all powerless/unimportant.

Her father turned out to be one of those more important male members, and Jessica was the daughter of his second wife. That and the fact that she did not closely resemble the "Joy looks" was why she was a branch member.

When she said that I scrutinized her and now that I paid attention I could see some resemblance to the Joy's. Her relation to the Joy family was also why she had a free pass to enter the nurse school and how she got her Chansey.

I nodded at that and thanked her for sharing that with me. Then I asked her about the closely resembling the "Joy looks" thing, because as we know the "Joy look" was a thing. While they all looked slightly different, all joys resembled each other enough to be considered twins/siblings.

Jessica considered something when I said that and then she asked me to keep the next bit for myself. According to what Jessica told me, the reason for the looks and affinity towards their fields for both the Joy and Junsa families were the legendaries.

It seemed after Ho-oh did his job during the third reset he asked if they were going to keep doing that since humanity did not seem to learn. Mew being the awesome being that she was, decided to help along with keeping them on the right path.

Mew called over Xerneas, Yveltal, as well as Zygarde and brought them to two females that Mew chose among the surviving strong humans. The two were chosen because Mew liked their character and behavior.

The two, who were the ancestors of the two clans quietly waited not knowing why they were brought before the 4 legendaries. The trio got the order to bless them so that they and their descendants could keep humanity on track and help guide them.

They exchanged glances before peering at the two nervous humans. Then Xerneas stepped forward towards Ancestor Joy and blessed her. Talent and affinity towards life and healing were its gifts, as well as a special connection with the Chansey and Audino-lines.

Then Zygarde stepped forward towards Ancestor Junsar and blessed her. Talent and affinity towards order and protection were its gifts, as well as a special connection with canine Pokemon species.

Finally, Yveltal went forward, stopping in front of both. It made sure their descendants would not stray too from their ideals, making it really hard for them to turn corrupt, and that they, the descendants, would resemble them, the ancestors.

This meant their new gifts would stay true/active when passed down. This was also the reason they had a higher girl ratio. Finally, it made sure that anyone that tried to target one of them or their family members while they were fulfilling their duty would experience bad luck and misfortune.

Awesome, I know. Anyway, after she told me that I assured her that I would keep it to myself. Apparently, it wasn't really a secret among the upper circle, but they preferred it if the knowledge did not become too public.

After that, I decided to tell her about my real identity. She was mighty surprised when she learned about my true age, but ultimately shrugged it off due to having heard about examples of similar people.

That was how she learned about the real me. Now, another interesting thing were her Pokemon. Her Ekans had evolved to an Arbok. She had light blue potential and was at the (mid) silver stage. Her Chansey had light blue potential as well and was at the (low) silver stage. Lickitung had green potential and was at the (high) bronze stage.

She also had caught a Meowth, that had evolved into a Persian, a Yanma, and a Wobbuffet. They were all at the (high) bronze stage as well. I considered giving her one of the Ancient Stones Utopia replicated for her Yanma, but I honestly thought it would be better if didn't.

Her Yanma already knew Ancient Power and only had to accumulate enough ancient energy inside its body through the usage of the move for its evolution to trigger.

That way it would be at the perfect strength, but if the Ancient Stone was used the requirement for a full potential use would raise to (high) silver. Anyway, back to the party. We had fun, and after dinner as well as cake everyone went home.

I seem to be down on luck. My self-test just turned out positive and I have to do a PCR-test. Seems like Corona-san got to me in the end after all.
