DON'T TOUCH HER

I can't sleep. Not until I know without a shadow of doubt that you are mine to keep.

**************

Drustan was flabbergasted when he saw the gold dust emerging from the girl's fingertips. How could that be possible coming from a human?

But, wait…

No human was supposed to be able to see him right now… or did his strength decrease tremendously, hence this girl could see him? Or, maybe she was not human, to begin with…

Drustan looked at her straight into her eyes, trying to observe the soul of her with the new strength that he received from her, yet he saw nothing. She was just human. Yet, how could humans possibly do this?

"What is this?"

Drustan heard the girl murmuring. She was shocked, as if this was the first time she watched this gold dust, and then she raised her head to meet his eyes.

Those beautiful green eyes, somehow, reminded Drustan of someone in the past. Those eyes and the way she stared at him looked familiar…

Unfortunately, their little bubble couldn't last longer than this, as Drustan caught sight of the monikers, coming closer to them, greed apparent from their red eyes.

Their black hoodies blew open when they dashed toward him at an inhuman speed, eager to get another flesh and blood of him.

Drustan glanced at the strange girl, but she didn't seem to notice her predicament, since she had her back against them.

Actually, Drustan didn't have an obligation to save her and it would be good if she was gone. He didn't like unpredictable elements around him, as he hated not being able to control the situation and this girl was perfect to put on the list.

However, only an inch before the creature could stab her with their sharp claws, Drustan reached for his switchblade and thrust it to the monker's chest.

That was the last-second decision and added to his condition, therefore his hand was slightly unsteady and the sharp blade brushed the girl's cheek. There was a slight furrow between his brows upon seeing blood trickled down from her wound.

At first, the girl didn't give any reaction, but when the pain came, her breath hitched, especially when she saw the dagger right beside her.

She was trying to run away from him, terrified by what Drustan had just done and backed away, yet before she could move further to her death, where a dozen monks came to him with killing intent. They wouldn't hesitate to slaughter her for getting in their way. Drustan had grabbed her wrist and pulled her back toward him.

As her body fell onto him, she accidentally hit his wound and the sharp pain made Drustan growled. He could feel her flinching in his embrace, yet he still didn't let her go.

"Stay," he said before he stood up and faced those monks head-on.

Drustan didn't miss how the gold dust kept surrounding him and continued to heal him even though he was not in contact with the girl.

With only the switchblade in his hand, Drustan didn't have a hard time finishing off them, as their dead bodies disappeared like ashes under the rain.

The fight between him and those monks didn't last for a long time, as there were not many of them, but he definitely couldn't stay there and wait for their fellows to come.

However, the problem now was…

When the last monker disappeared without any trace, Drustan turned around and found Apple was sitting on the concrete ground, her eyes glued to him, following his every movement, but her brows creased deeply.

Apple's body shuddered when the rain-soaked clothes, like the umbrella that she brought, were a few meters away from her.

"Your name." The way Drustan talked to her didn't sound like he was asking her, but more like someone was interrogating a criminal.

Yet, Apple didn't answer him, she kept staring at him, but gradually her vision became blurry and she fell to her left side and closed her eyes.

Out of instinct, Drustan came to her and secured her head, so she wouldn't get a concussion from her fall, and then slowly, he put her head down.

"Drustan!!!"

Someone shouted his name and then there was a rushing sound of footsteps that came to him.

Drustan didn't need to turn his body to check who it was, since he was already aware of his presence a few minutes ago.

It was Kama, the person in charge to ensure his safety, yet most of the time, he was the one who needed to be helped.

And if he was there, then the other person must be nearby…

"Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?" He approached Drustan and squatted down beside him, scrutinized his body, and didn't miss a few torn on his clothes, especially the wound on his left wrist that made him bleed profusely.

And now, since the mysterious girl lost her consciousness, the gold dust also disappeared and his healing progress rapidly slowed as well.

"Your wound!" Kama pointed his finger at Drustan's waist, but the latter didn't heed his exaggerated reaction, as his focus was on her.

"Is she an enemy?" Suddenly there was another man who was taller and even bigger than Drustan who appeared on the other side of him. Even though his figure was easily recognized, but, when he moved, one should be sure that no one would know.

"Dorian! You startled me!" Kama whined. Of course, this big guy would appear once he said that Drustan was injured.

"We need to check on your wound. Let's go back." The guy named Dorian didn't heed Kama's complaint, as his concern was only on his master.

"No," Drustan replied sternly and his focus was elsewhere.

Only a little while later that Kama realized there was a girl, who was being observed by Drustan. "Who is she? Should I kill her?"

Kama was about to stretch his hand to strangle her, but Drustan stopped him coldly.

"Don't touch her."
