KEEP YOUR EYES ON HER

It is one of the biggest misconceptions in the world that sad words mean a sad ending.

"Don't touch her!" Those words came out full of authority and made the Kama stop his hand and look at Drustan with a frown. It had been so long since he heard him being so determined on something.

"May I know why?" Despite the way Drustan forbade him, Kama was still curious about why he shouldn't kill the girl, and also with the way his master looked at her, he was certain beyond doubt that something was going on between the two.

There must be a story that he didn't know.

However, Drustan wouldn't fall into it and instead of answering his question, he gave him an order. "Keep your eyes on her." Drustan then knelt and stretched out his hand to touch the wound on her cheek, as it healed when he traced his finger on it.

"Me? But, why? Why should I linger with humans?" Kama protested, but Dorian kicked his leg and glared to stop him from spouting rubbish.

You shouldn't question your master's order. At least that was what Dorian said through his eyes.

"But, keep yourself hidden." Drustan then touched the girl's lips and something appeared on his finger, something round like a marble with the color of silver.

Seeing that, Kama and Dorian gasped in surprise.

"Are you crazy? Why did you give her that?!" Kama was the one who reacted to it but didn't dare to stop the process when he watched in consternation when the silver marble went to the girl's lips and disappeared.

The girl swallowed the silver marble of Drustan. It was a big deal!

"She can see the non-human creatures," Drustan said languidly and didn't even bother with the bewilderment that the two of them gave him. "Make sure she is fine until I find her again."

Drustan then chanted something, a protection spell, before he stood up and stared at her drenched body, as the rain kept pouring down endlessly.

"She can see non-human creatures? What is she? Fae?" Kama sniffed her, but he couldn't find any suspicious scent.

Drustan didn't answer that, just like Kama's other question when he turned around and walked away, because he also was still not sure about what she was exactly.

"Wait, will you leave me like that with her?" Kama watched Drustan's back with a frown and then Dorian.

"He told you to watch over her," Dorian generously repeated Drustan's order and then followed his master.

"Great," Kama grumbled. Now he was soaking wet and needed to keep his eyes on the human girl. Was this a punishment for not being able to find Drustan sooner? He wondered…

Kama frowned for being left alone only with the unconscious girl. He was pissed and chose to not try to help her by covering or moving her to a drier place, as he took the umbrella and waited for her to wake up on her own.

Drustan didn't say anything about taking care of her, he just said to keep his eyes on her and keep her safe from the other creatures.

With a surly expression, Kama stared at Apple, as the question didn't seem to leave her curious mind; why did she get the silver marble from Drustan? It was not something trivial.

However, no one could answer that aside from Drustan himself, in that case, it was good to assume that he would never get the explanation.

Kama needed to wait for a little bit longer until Apple was awake. He left the umbrella that he used and shifted into his black wolf form.

Yes, he was a werewolf, a rogue on top of that. If it was not for Drustan who had saved him a hundred years ago, he would have died now, beaten to death by the Alpha, whose territory he came across.

Therefore, here he was, devoting his life to him, while Dorian had his own story…

But, it was safe to say that both of them were the only people close to the taciturn outlandish man.

==============

Drustan couldn't understand why the girl had gold dust with her. It was something out of the ordinary. No. frankly said, it was impossible for a mere human being to possess such power.

Who was that girl, really?

And another complexity that Drustan was not able to understand was his impulse to give the silver marble to her.

Yes, she literally had saved his life. If it was not because of her and her gold dust, Drustan didn't think he would be able to fight off those monkers just fine with his current condition at that time. The gold dust helped him to recover very fast.

Drustan pinched the bridge of his nose, while he was in his study room, in his luxurious penthouse. The only safe place for him in this malicious realm was that he was living, side by side with humans.

In front of him was a stack of old documents that were older than any human being. He was trying to look for information about the gold dust, but it seemed all the data that he needed was not here, in his library. He needed more sources to find this missing piece.

And while he was occupied with his unexpected encounter with that girl, the world outside didn't stop and it had been two days since that evening, but he found nothing.

"You will die from overworking yourself," Dorian said, as he entered the room to bring breakfast for him. He was not as chattering as Kama, but he would talk a little bit more to Drustan when he thought it was necessary. "Just because you can't die doesn't mean you can abuse your privilege, don't you?"

He put the tray in front of Drustan and put away the documents on the table.

"Where is Kama now?" Instead of replying to him, Drustan asked something different.
