DON'T YOU DARE TO RUNAWAY FROM ME

Damon stretched out his hand to grab Tarsa's wrist and pulled her closer to him.

"What are you doing?!" Claire didn't want to let go of Tarsa's other hand, as she tried to get her daughter back. "No! You can't take her away from us!"

Claire hit Damon's chest to get Tarsa back, but the man caught her hand and held it tightly until the woman screamed in pain.

"Stop it!" Russel tried to make the protector let go of his wife's hand, but he couldn't make him budge. He was very strong.

"Please… let go of my mother," Tarsa pleaded with him. She couldn't do much because Damon held her left wrist, rendering her unable to move freely to help her mother. "Let go of her."

Only when Tarsa spoke, Damon gave her his attention. "You will go with me," he stated.

"Yes, I will go with you, but let my mother go," Tarsa agreed without thinking about it twice, as all she wanted right now was for this man to stop hurting her family.

"No!" Claire was angry at her daughter's reckless decision, she didn't save her daughter, by jeopardizing their position by offending the members of Duvessa, just to have Tarsa taken from her side. "You can take her over my dead body!"

Damon's eyes turned dark. "As you wish," he said emotionlessly, as the wind sword appeared again in his hand.

Seeing that, Russell put himself between Damon and his wife to protect her, but Tarsa pushed her father so she was the one who faced the wrath of the protector.

Tarsa didn't say anything, she just stood there and stared straight into his eyes, as if the fact that she could be killed didn't scare her at all.

She had been living by not knowing when the attack would come or wondering what if the doctor couldn't revive her again after the attack. She was close to death, just like now, but at this time she faced it head-on.

"The Kairi's heart is with me, if you want to have it back, take me," she said softly.

Damon could hear her trembling voice. She was scared when she said that, but she was stubborn enough to fake it.

Tarsa's heartbeat so fast, until she could hear it rang in her ears. There was a warm feeling that spread through her whole body and for some reason, seeing the man in front of her, she felt that odd feeling again. The longing.

The heart missed this man. If that didn't sound bizarre, yet it was true.

No matter how scary this man looked now or the fact that he was holding that magical sword again, Tarsa felt safe. She knew from the deep of her heart that this man wouldn't hurt her. He would rather die than hurt her.

Did that even make sense?

When the tension between the four people grew thicker, the door slammed open, and there, they could see Amaro, the head of the protector, walking into the room with a few protectors behind him.

It seemed the fight with the military had ended and it was way faster than they could imagine.

"What are you doing here Damon!?" his voice roared, echoing throughout the wall, as the man glared at Damon.

Amaro was a man in his early forty. He was the last protector of the ninety-sixth Kairi before she died due to illness.

Damon let go of Claire's wrist and pushed her away. Fortunately, Russell was there to catch her, but Damon pulled Tarsa and held her in his arms.

"HE WANTS TO TAKE OUR DAUGHTER!" Claire screamed desperately, what was more when the protectors that came with Amaro stepped in and secured both of them.

On the other hand, Tarsa struggled to free herself from Damon's clutch, but it was not an easy feat.

"Where will they take them to?" Tarsa asked in panic when her father and mother were taken out of the room.

Damon didn't answer that, as his eyes fixed on the head of the protector.

"You can't take them! Don't you know that he is the president of this country?!" Tarsa shouted hysterically when she couldn't see her parents again and the door was closed, leaving only the man, who gave the order, there.

"You must hand her over, Damon," Amaro said in a calm tone, but Damon knew very well that he was not as calm as he showed it. "And head back to Duvessa and wait for your punishment. I will let this slide."

Damon didn't answer that. His emotionless face was very rigid as if nothing could perceive that coldness.

"Don't move," Damon spoke to Tarsa, as he tightened his arm around her body.

At this time, Tarsa felt her heart was going to burst. The warmth from this man was very familiar, though this was the first time they met with each other or being this close.

"You don't want to hand her over," Amaro stated. "What are you going to do to her?"

"What are you going to do to her?" Damon answered Amaro's question with the same question. "Answer me first."

Amaro took a step forward and Damon brandished his sword. This was an offensive move and he knew it, but he couldn't afford it if Amaro had his hand on Tarsa.

Damon knew that this head protector was on another level from him.

"Kairi's Ariana, who will decide it," Amaro said truthfully. "I know you are angry because you failed to protect Kairi Xierra, but you can't do something recklessly." Amaro thought Damon would kill the girl, who took Xierra's heart.

"I will take her by myself to Kairi Ariana," Damon stated after a long moment of silence. He could see Amaro's brows creased when he tried to discern this. "Don't you dare to run away from me, or else, I will not hesitate to stab you and pull out the heart that does not belong to you from your body," he spoke in a low voice to Tarsa.
