Empathy (Part 4)

"Faestien.....? Maelle...?"

He looked around, lifting himself up from the grainy veridian sands. There was nothing but the crashing turquoise waves and the pale, yellow-green sky. Everything is green and he hates it.

Xendros wiped the sand on his shirt, and started looking around for his companions.

He had a strange dream. A strange dream of shared childhood days, three boys laughing and playing in an elephant-shaped treehouse in the jungles, merrily spending their days together from sunrise till sunset.

That memory felt like an eternity. Yet he realized that it was only a memory of a single day.

His closeness and fondness for the two other boys could not be denied, however. He felt a connection with them. A strange connection that surpasses camaraderie or even the deepest and most loyal brotherhood.
