She felt frozen; the cold nipped at her skin. Her throat was hoarse and her lips were cracked. 

The air crackled with frost.

She looked up, the shadow of the man she hated stood in front of her. A twisted smile on his face. 

“If I cannot have you, then no one shall,” he whispered. 

She closed her eyes.

The Flora That Grew

                                                        "Intimacy is foreign to me."


Emma and Katie were startled by the sound of the slamming door in the hallway; the two looked at each other before both burst out laughing.


Katie sneered, "Something. Why would I know what he's doing?"


The two continued to work on the murders that had occurred recently. Both Katie and Emma continued to work on it in relative silence; the silence was fluctuating from raised voices due to excitement, or a contemplative silence.

A furious crowd stood outside the police station, angry shouts and jeers from the crowd could be heard from the bottom of the streets.
