Underworld Negotiations XIII

A magical contract was laid on a table in the room with all the conditions spoke so far broken down perfectly in writing.

Giving it a short read through let the four Satans realize there was no trickery and things would proceed as discussed should they sign it, however . . .

Morgan's words regarding their sincerity or foolishness left them wondering whether they should go through with it or not, especially when they would only get the critical information of what the other party wanted, after everything was signed and bound.

Alas, they were really in no position to back out at this point. Should they do so now, not only would their effort to get out of their self made mess be completely and utterly wasted, they would be left in an even worse position than they already were before starting to work out a solution.

Left with no other choice, at least none that was better for them, the four Satans each gave their signature, not in writing but their spiritual signature, for a contract bound with their very souls with the other party being Jun.

They saw no problem with this but with Sirzechs trying to scam them, Jun felt perfectly justified in scamming them back, though perhaps he'd back out if he knew how much they were willing to pay in order to basically appease him.

As for the trick, it was simple. While the contract seemed to apply to Jun's entire group, it was worded in a way that only his soul was bound, making it so that his members' transgressions would be paid for by him.

The Satans only saw this as a demonstration of trust and loyalty but in truth, while Jun's terminal body was still limited, his soul was already on another plane of existence entirely.

Even if his entire group decided to ignore all stipulated conditions and go wild, the backlash he would face was truly negligible compared to the vastness of his soul.

So if push came to shove and the deal became bothersome to keep, they could just ignored it with the worst part being that the other party, as in the the Satans, would still need to keep their end of the bargain since they had no means of weathering the backlash that posed no threat to Jun.

This clever little trap went unnoticed by all present other than Morgan who had co-written the terms with her husband and thus knew exactly what it entailed.

But with the contract bound and in effect, it was time for Morgan to reveal the three pieces their group was to lay claim to with the unofficial approval of the Satans along with a vow to look the other way so long as it could not be verifiably be traced to them.

"Our demands are simple. The first is your access to Cocytus, the lowest level of the Underworld. Just gives the info and well be very discreet in our use of that access." Morgan shared her first demand.

It was by far the least shocking and lightest amongst those she planned to ask for and definitely something the four Satans were willing to provide.

Maybe their would feel less willing if they knew what Jun could and wanted to do with said access but since they did not know, the four of them felt the request to be a very reasonable one. Certainly a big deal, enough make them bleed but far from enough to actually damage them.

The next two however, were on a whole nother level . . .

"Right, now that we have got the easy one out of the way. For our second demand, we will be appropriating the Malebranche and yes, we can control them and make sure nothing bad happens . . . unless we want it to happen of course." Morgan continued but the four were frozen.

"The Malebranche? Those monstrosities . . . I'm sorry but we don't known their location." Sirzechs said in response, hoping that would get them to change their request for something else but while Morgan believed his words, she had no intention of changing the contents of her demand.

"That is perfectly fine since we know where they are. All you have to do is not give chase in case their current keepers turn to you for help or investigate the mess we might make in claiming them." Morgan responded, shattering Sirzechs' hopes.

'How can they know such deep secrets of their people even better than they did'? The satans thought to themselves, each with their own thoughts and attitudes towards the matter but all of them bearing worry.

Ajuka however, found purchase in one key word within Morgan's sentence however.

"Mess?" He questioned.

For the first request, Morgan had claimed they would do things on the downlow but now, she was saying they would make a mess.

Morgan just gave a smile full of hidden meanings that provoked all kinds of bad feelings inside the Satans but she did not explain further and thanks to the contract, they had to swallow the terms no matter how hesitant they were before this second demand.

As for the mess Morgan mentioned, it was referencing the fallout they were expecting to happen regardless of any deal made in that moment. When that fallout occured, their two Assassins who had already infiltrated the underworld would make a move to steal the Malebranche.

It was already part of the plan to begin with but now, it was unofficially sanctioned by the four Satans which made things even easier for them to handle.

Based on the current trend however, the Satans were truly fearing the third and final request, hoping it would not be outrageously bigger than the second like it was outrageously bigger than the first.

Alas, once again, Morgan seemed to be finding enjoyment in the shattering of their hopes . . .
