Underworld Negotiations XIV

Based on the current trend, the Satans were truly fearing the third and final request, hoping it would not be outrageously bigger than the second like it was outrageously bigger than the first.

Alas, once again, Morgan seemed to be finding enjoyment in the shattering of their hopes . . .

"For our last demand, we want Lilith." She declared and before they could even process what the Fairy Queen had just said . . .

"And before you ask. Yes we known where she is being kept and are fully capable of taking her without making any waves." Morgan added.

The four Satans could not even process it. Lilith, the Mother of all Devils, first wife of Adam and wife of the original Lucifer, a legendary figure who participated in the original three way war between Devils, Fallen Angels and the forces of Heaven.

Having gone missing as the war drew to a close, almost no one knew what became of her, even her status, whether she was still alive or had perished was in doubt, much less where she could be.

And yet, this group of of powerful yet young beings had very self assuredly claimed they knew exactly where to find her and from their tone, she was at the very least still alive.

Being the fastest thinker in the group, Ajuka sorted out his thoughts quicker and made a very pertinent question.

"Why tell us of this?"

It was true, the Malebranche, even if they were not common knowledge, they should be somewhere deep within Devil Territory, hidden by their keepers so it could be reasoned that some kind of disturbance would arise from taking them but Lilith was different.

Even Morgan herself claimed they could collect her without making a mess so what need was there to inform them of such a critically important matter.

"Eventually, it will become as clear as day that Lilith is within our grasp which would severely damaged relations so we'll just make you accept it right now when you have no choice." The Fairy Queen gave it straight to him and did not mince words at all.

"Lilith is not someone so easily held when it is known you have her. Are you sure you can even keep her? She is one of the original Devils, regardless of her current state or power, she is a mighty symbol and simply holding her alone would make you a lot of enemies." Sirzechs cautioned, both as an honest piece of advice and as a warning.

Morgan showed an expression of pure disdain in response, making it evident how seriously she took his words.

"You people can't even reach our seat of power so how can you even think about taking something or someone from us?" She questioned.

That was enough to silence him and also to make the Satans realize how ill equipped they were to deal with their adversary.

Though her tone was harsh and her words inflammatory, Morgan had spoken nothing but the truth. The only reason there could be negotiations was due to the fact that Jun did not appreciate war. Even if he knew he would win, even if he knew that no matter what, he would never lose as his seat of power was beyond reach.

He would finish any fight others pick with him but he never started fights without reason. Morgan's requests were just a form of courtesy. They would lay claim to those three things whether they, as representatives of the Devil race, accepted it or not. In other words it was just a forewarning.

"Very well but do not reveal the truth of Lilith until the political climate is either more stable or completely hostile." Surprisingly, Sirzechs was the first to show acceptance.

"Excellent. We have an accord then. Let us return to the regular schedule." Morgan responded and followed by Artoria and Jeanne, left the private room in the train car and settled in bar like area.

They still had the car all to themselves so it was not like they were exiting their private setting but it was enough to let everyone know that the unofficial meeting was over and that from now on, everything would be dealt with in an above board manner. At least until all hell broke loose.

The four Satans gave their temporary farewells and left the trio alone so as to go and discuss the contents of the meeting that just occured.

Back in privacy, Jeanne who felt quite of of place in a political setting, began to ask for clarification in regards to certain matters. He discomfort was quite understandable as well.

While her death was expected and she welcomed it as the Lord's decree, Jeanne was still aware that it was a political move to get rid of her in such a way.

Her main point of doubt laid in Sirzechs' sentence about revealing Lilith's truth.

"Why would it be fine to reveal it during open hostilities?" Jeanne wondered, it was understandable that it would be fine if everything was stable as it would make dealing with disturbances easier but why was the other extreme fine as well.

Artoria was about to explain as before but Morgan cut her off.

"This is not about politics but about the effects of war. Think about it and a smart girl like you should understand." The Fairy Queen spoke in a rare show of agreeableness. Maybe Jun was rubbing off on her and softening her attitude after all.

And just as Morgan predicted, Jeanne arrived at the answer almost instantly. Getting used to relying on others too much did impede one's ability to deal with things themselves if one was not careful.
