As a top-tier scientist in the field of evolutionary studies, Ye Chen could not find a way to extend life. He decided to use himself as an experimental subject, genetically modifying himself to achieve his goal of immortality. He studied tardigrades, extracted genes from ants, and tried becoming closer to botanic life forms, fusing them all into his own genes. If he were unlucky, he would be swallowed whole by his natural predators at some random point in time, or run into a human explorer or hunting group, which would also mean his end. As he witnessed the fate of other lizards, Ye Chen could no longer stay calm. He didn’t want his life to end like this, he would fight to survive in this world. Afterward, Ye Chen discovered that he could extract and fuse other creatures’ genes into his own by eating them, and this fusion wouldn’t cause any rejection reaction, it was perfect. First, it was an ant, a chameleon, a rabbit, from which he extracted the genes of power, camouflage, and agility respectively. Then it was magical beasts like Saber-tooth Tiger, Two-headed Wolf, and the Bird of Flames. As he fused more and more genes into himself, Ye Chen’s physique gradually changed and got closer and closer to the legendary Holy Great Dragon. All lifeforms on the Holy Land went crazy. This novel is horrifying. To begin with, the author is obsessed with Elves. The MCs heart litterally beats out of his chest in horror when he sees a pitiful Elf in a cage, but in the next chapter he sings merrily as he massacres humans. Then comes the dreaded chapter 15 - somehow or other, he becomes the pet of the Elven Queen. Oh, he also gets nose bleeds constantly from being cuddled in her 'massive valley.' There's nothing 'holy', or 'great' about this protagonist. Instead the word I would use to describe him is...pathetic.
Ah yes the scientist searching to extend his life injects the genes of an insect the organism greatest known for it's very long lifespan far greater than a human.

This one is a pretty good somewhat original novel. An MC that uses his brain rather than having an OP system, hint system or 10,000x system spoon feeding him. The translation quality is great and the names aren't Westernized. World building seems like the slow and steady type. Overall I give it 2 Alec Baldwin thumbs up.

I really enjoyed the story in this one. The translation isn't amazing, but it's understandable at least. The MC actually earns their strength rather than being spoonfed. I'd give it a 4.5-4.7 overall.
put it while it's great, I hope it stays that way, I'm enjoying his thinking better than the other protagonist who is dumb doesn't use his brain and gets bad for not adapting quickly
