"The waves roar.
But you can't drown out my voice.
Here's Poseidon, sitting on the rock.
You've locked your gaze on mine.
But your heart has yet to be soothed.
My voice calls out to you.
I will grant your one and only wish."
A sweet and promising song chimes through the night air, its melody reminiscent of a lover's embrace. The ozone-heavy wind carries it gracefully, with Poseidon's honey bubbling up at its lips.
Gyatso still watched Poseidon as she sang. As time went on, more and more sirens came to Poseidon. Gyatso is confused about what is happening, but even so, his attention is still focused on Poseidon.
"So that's why when the sea creatures pass by us, they stop, not only because they respect us but also because Poseidon is like the queen of this ocean." Gyatso whispered to himself while still looking at Poseidon.
Suddenly, Poseidon kissed her palms and blew it in the air, and then there was a siren that suddenly his tails became feet. That was his wish, which Poseidon fulfilled.
Only once in a blue moon does such an event happen. It is called "Siren's Call." The Siren's Call is done only by Poseidon, who rules the ocean. She fulfills the wish of a siren. Every siren wants to be the one chosen by Poseidon for every Siren's Call to fulfill their wishes, and the usual wish of sirens is to have feet. After the Siren's Call, the sirens will never remember what happened because they are not the ones who go to Poseidon, it is Poseidon pulling them to come, so their eyes glow like Poseidon's eyes because they are all under her control. A Siren's Call has no effect on Gyatso because he's not a siren.
The sweet siren whispers in his ear, and her voice is made of rain-slicked tires and damp earth that made Gyatso freeze.
"What do you think?" Poseidon asked.
"About?" Gyatso asked Poseidon confusedly while his eyes were still staring at the water because he couldn't look Poseidon in the eye.
"About what you saw." Poseidon smiled. Poseidon began to swim back to the shore to take Gyatso home.
"I really can't believe that something like that's happening, because I can't see much along the shore because you're doing that kind of thing in the middle of the ocean and also..." Gyatso explained as he swam closer to Poseidon. Poseidon stopped swimming for a moment to wait for what Gyatso would say next, but he just splashed some water on her face and laughed.
"Oh is that so? You want to play with me?" Gyatso was nervous because Poseidon raised her hands, making Gyatso nervous. Poseidon laughed at Gyatso's sudden reaction to what she did.
"It looks like you've already recognized who your opponent is." Smiling, Poseidon said, Gyatso quickly swam away from her to save his life from the impending disaster that Poseidon would give to him. Poseidon waved her hand, and there was a big wave getting closer and closer to poor Gyatso while Poseidon was laughing a lot because of Gyatso.
Gyatso pretended to drown for Poseidon to feel guilt for what she did to him.
"Gyatso, where are you?" Poseidon is still laughing while calling Gyatso because she can't forget the young man's reaction. She stopped laughing when she could no longer hear Gyatso's voice. He quickly swam and saw Gyatso floating in the water with fish around him, as if they were watching him, and when they saw Poseidon, they stopped for a moment and left.
"I apologize, Gyatso—" Poseidon didn't finish what she was about to say when Gyatso suddenly splashed some water on her face. Poseidon stopped because of the sudden events but also laughed afterwards because of Gyatso.
"I'm good at acting, aren't I?"
"No, you're not." Poseidon suddenly touched Gyatso's feet, and it suddenly turned into a tail.
"H-how did that happen? You just touched my feet and then it turned into a tail." Gyatso said incredulously.
"Let's go under the water." Poseidon said and eventually dived.
They have a lot of fun underwater, as if there was no tomorrow. Poseidon introduced Gyatso to all the sirens they passed through. Gyatso wasn't surprised that the rumors in their village that the sirens were bad were wrong. Maybe there were some bad sirens, but not all of them.
They have reached the shore. Gyatso still doesn't want Poseidon to hold his tail because he still wants to enjoy being a siren first. Poseidon sat on the shore with her tail in the water.
"Aren't you tired? I'm the one who's getting tired just by watching you." Poseidon said angrily.
"No, it's so fun. Aren't you glad you have a tail? You know, a lot of kids in our village want to have a tail like sirens." Gyatso said, smiling, and resumed swimming again.
"No, look at how angry people are with sirens like me, even though we're not doing anything wrong to them. I mean, if one siren did something bad to them, why do they blame all the sirens? Why do they heap their anger on other sirens? " Poseidon was surprised when Gyatso suddenly slammed his tail into the ocean, causing the ocean water to splash into Poseidon.
"There you go again..."
"Don't be like that. Not everyone is angry with the siren." Gyatso said, smiling.
"How can you tell?"
"Like me, I'm not mad at sirens, and like I said earlier, a lot of kids in our village want to have a tail like sirens." Gyatso added.
"My eyes are perplexed
If flaws could be more attractive.
Your rays reach deep into my soul.
Calming my agitated mind, "
Gyatso stopped swimming and looked at Poseidon as she began to sing. You can see the beauty of Poseidon because of the moonlight hitting her face as she sings. Gyatso remembered what he had seen earlier and was shocked. He could not believe he had seen such a beautiful view. Poseidon's eyes were glowing, especially as she sang earlier. Gyatso did not realize that Poseidon had finished singing because his mind was occupied.
"Gyatso."
"W-Why?" He asked when he had returned to his senses.
"I guess you're not listening." Poseidon stated solemnly as he looked at Gyatso.
"I'm amazed at your voice. Right now you sang about how you feet about the moon, right?" Gyatso sat down next to Poseidon while his tails were also in the water. Poseidon nodded and touched Gyatso's tail, so it returned to its previous form.
"Why were your eyes glowing earlier? The eyes of other sirens are also glowing like yours." Gyatso asked while looking at the moon.
"Earlier, while I was singing in the middle of the ocean? I also don't know why my eyes were glowing every time I did that. All I know is that I was able to control the sirens every time the moon was like that, so their eyes became like mine, ash gray, even though the color of their eyes is really different to mine." Gyatso nodded at what Poseidon said.
The waves had made a soothing crashing noise, as if they were trying to soothe a soul. The gentle rhythmic motion of the waves satisfied the eye.
Gyatso looked at Poseidon when he heard someone sobbing, and he was not mistaken because Poseidon was crying.
"Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Gyatso asked Poseidon worriedly.
"I'm fine. Maybe I'm just tired because a lot has happened today, but even so I'm still happy." Poseidon said, smiling as she cried.
"Me too. I'm also happy. Thank you, Poseidon. I've seen so many good things because of you today." Gyatso said, smiling. Poseidon wiped the tears from her face and smiled at Gyatso, who was also smiling at her.
"Gyatso, close your eyes." Poseidon said.
"Why?" Gyatso asked as he closed his eyes. Poseidon still doubted what she would do.
Slowly, she pressed her lips to Gyatso's. Gyatso's brain also couldn't process what was happening, Poseidon's tears suddenly dripped. She kept from sobbing as her lips pressed against Gyatso's. Poseidon slowly broke their kiss with Gyatso and he opened his eyes to see Poseidon crying.
"W-why did you do that? Why are you crying?" Gyatso asked, confused. He wiped the tears that had been flowing from Poseidon's eyes. Poseidon's hands trembled as she tried to flick her fingers.
"Poseidon, what's wrong with you?"
Poseidon suddenly flicked her fingers, her kiss already taking effect. He laid Gyatso down properly on the shore and went down into the water.
"You'll forget all of our memories together. I want you to live a happy life with Fionnuala, and I hope you keep loving the ocean. I would be really happy if you did. I'll never forget this day; it's the day I express my love for you. I'm grateful that you're the one who saved me. Thank you for everything, Gyatso. I wish you to live a happy life without remembering me. I will cherish our memories just by myself." She smiled bitterly. Before she swam away, she first looked at the soundly sleeping young man.
"Even if you forget me for the rest of your life, the ocean has witnessed the love we have developed, I love you, Gyatso."
