CHAPTER – XVIII

"Wait" Alec cold tone made everybody to stop. He signaled his men to drew their guns backwards. "You are such a trouble for both living and dead peoples." He stood in front of me and briefly looked at my face.

"Anyone who already in the situation like you, you sure have courage of a panther." He smirked. "I'm impressed, no wonder you trespassed the grounds to enter inside the castle. But backing away now doesn't suit you, pretty face. Pursue your dreams like a Black panther you are."

"Anyone like your status, interested in any commoner's affairs, pulling cheap tactics and putting trust in mere written words, you sure conquer the world." I said in monotone. He chuckled in response and command his bodyguards and gunmen to leave us alone. "Eli and Lucas, make sure this incident won't heard by Royal's ears. I don't want them to interfere in my business." After not getting any response, he raised his eyebrows at them.

Eli left the room after saying, "Yes, your highness." Lucas, however, remained behind, stating that he couldn't leave me alone with Alec. I huffed and looked at Lucas in disgust while Alec grabbed his hand and painfully pressed it, digging his fingers into his skin.

Alec pushed Lucas's hand away and said, "You're lucky to be alive. I suggest you make the most of it." He then stumbled backward and left in shame, followed by Lou. As he was leaving, I noticed red-blue bruises forming on his skin. I was terrified by his strength. To my dismay, he turned towards me.

Alec warned me, "You must blame your friends all your life, but actually, they saved you. Sooner or later, the shadow will invade your mind completely, and you'll die without even understanding anything." He then drew himself closer to me, and before I could step back, he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"And Miss Sagitta, as I said you are too special that's why I would like to punish you by myself." He stared deadly into my soul.

"What do you mean?" I tried to push him away but he was too adamant. Pushing me closer to him, my breast pressed into his chest. His other hand grabbed my hair and pulled it down softly so my eyes met his dead ones. I gasped loudly as his handsome face leaned in.

"Pretty face you don't have any idea how much of a danger lurking around you." He slid his fingers in my hair and started massaging the back scalps. I wanted to push him away, but I was losing consciousness gradually by his sudden act, my knees were getting weaker and weaker. I fought the urge to moan and rolled back my eyes into the skull.

"Cease this," I breathed, my body suddenly ablaze with sensation. He drew closer, his words slipping into my left ear. "In your dreams..." My skin erupted with tingles, igniting a fire deep within me. "Your dreams yearn to reveal the truth. Doesn't that excite you?" His fingers paused, and I gathered my strength, placing my hands upon his chest and glaring at him.

"What the heck you think you are doing?" I made a gap between us by stepping away.

"The words you have penned are imbued with a truth beyond measure, a reflection of the enigmatic Princess Nyx, her devoted steed Ballester, and the tales of their notoriety. Your words piqued my curiosity, but it was the revelation that you dreamt of Prince Kier's vow to wed Princess Nyx, and the markings engraved upon their skin, that truly captivated me. Such a vision is not something that befalls a common soul, such as yourself, to know of the mysteries surrounding the infamous Kier and Nyx," he murmured, his head shaking in disbelief.

"How can this be? I have no knowledge of these individuals beyond what I have transcribed in my diary, and yet you claim that I already know more than within its pages."

I didn't know either why I was even dreaming about them.
