"The time is near when the veil between worlds will thin, I will claim you as mine."



Oxyvi's breath caught in her throat. She couldn't see his face, but she knew it was him. The air around her grew colder, the sky darker, as if the world itself was holding its breath.



"Why me?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
