Chapter - XV (Happy Halloween)

Alec would condemn me; I was discreet all this time, did he know I have this with me? No, if he Knew he would put me behind the bars without any second thought. This was not just the proof, but it was my doom.

I hurriedly grabbed the source of my demise in my hand and wrapped it in the cloth and opened the closet to put it in there so after when I left this building in the morning, this thing won't haunt me. I would bury it down later by myself near the castle in the meantime whenever I got a chance.

I pushed my clothes upon it to hide it. My mind wondered and recalled the words when Alec asked me.

"You didn't touch anything in there?"

"Not anything that I remembered" was my reply.

I didn't even want to imagine what would Alec do to me once he found out about that I indeed stole something. I wasn't even thinking straight when I put this candle stand inside my satchel. I was indeed curious that I found something antique, but less did I know about the turn of the events. I felt like a burglar now, it wasn't my intention, I was thinking of showing it to Lucas, but I couldn't do that without shoving myself in the prison. "What do I do now?" My heart started pacing loudly when I heard the knock on the door which wasn't a normal one. I closed the closet door abruptly and reached to open the door to find no one to welcome.

My mind raced with thoughts of the shadows lurking in the corridor, but I tried to convince myself that it was just my sleep-deprived imagination. With a deep breath, I entered my room and tried to calm myself, but my skin still prickled with fear.

As I searched for comfortable clothes, the sound of another knock made my heart race. Panic set in, and I struggled to compose myself. I grabbed my phone and dialed the emergency no. which was again straight received by Lucas.

"Hello, Oxyvi"

"Lucas can you check right now who's outside my room, knocking" I heard the sound of sheets fumbling and rustling and then the opening clicks of the door.

"Is something the matter, Oxyvi?"

"Just tell me who is outside my door" I exclaimed rather loudly. "Open the door I'm outside." I obliged and sighed.

"Take some rest, you really need it" He consoled me rather calling me mad. In frustration "Can I see, Lou?" I asked.

"I'm sorry but you are not allowed to meet her, Oxyvi." I furrowed.

"And why is that? I want to talk to her. This is all so overwhelming and I'm sure she needs to see me too."

"Sorry but its Alec's order." Alec's involvement in this was the true source of my distress, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of impending doom. Suddenly, a knock echoed through the halls, and Lucas hastened to answer, only to find no one was at the door.

My fear was at its peak, Lucas gave me a look and pulled out his gun. "Stay here and lock the door. Don't worry I'll check." He was gone, I hurriedly dialed Lou's number but unfortunately, it was not reachable, no matter how many times I tried. Terrified, I searched her social accounts only to find out there is no user. In panic, I called mom, Emma, Danestien….and almost every person in my contact randomly but they were all not reachable. I hastened through the social accounts and dropped a message to Emma. "Emma, I need your help, I'm in…" before I sent it, A loud knock made me jump in fear and my phone fell on the floor. Goosebumps rose and tears fell from my eyes.

Knock Knock!
