Chapter XXI

Above, it hangs with the regal might,

A keeper of tales, veiled in soft light,

Each facet a secret, a gemstone's gleam,

A clandestine dance in the moonlight beam. 

…..

I moved towards the source of voice, but that statue started to glare at me and from nowhere I saw something dark lurking in the corner….

The girl woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for air, or she just thought. She had just had the most terrifying nightmare of her life. She looked around the room, trying to calm herself down. That's when she noticed the Same dark figure standing outside her window. It was staring at her with blank expressions, their eyes unblinking. She tried to scream, but no sound came out. She was trapped, alone in her room with this silent watcher. Suddenly, it began to move. It started to climb through the window, their limbs jerking and twitching in unnatural ways.

The girl tried to run, but her legs wouldn't move. She was paralyzed with fear. The horrific figure was getting closer and closer, its twisted face inches from hers. And then she woke up, for real this time. She was safe in the bed, but the memory of the nightmare lingered on.

"What the actual fuck!" She Screamed louder. 

"Oxyvi open the door, Oxyvi." 

She wiped the sweat from her head but her whole body was covered in sweat, she had to change. But the constant knock annoyed her, she just woke up for real nightmare, give her a time to adjust. She opened the door angrily. And the person turned her anger into the rage. She was about to shut the door at the person but "Please Oxyvi, listen to me."

"What is there to listen, Lou. You've already done enough damage, how could you do that, telling my personal entries to Lucas, see what happened now. It reached to A…." She angrily whispered but suddenly stopped. "You know what, just go." As she was about to close, Lucas appeared behind her. 

"We are here to help you." Lucas said. Lou nodded after him. 

Oxyvi sighed, as she was exhausted. She opened the door for them to enter inside her room. 

"You both have 5 minutes to explain yourselves, fast." 

"The things you wrote inside your diary, can really help Alec." Lucas said. Lou stopped him and came in front of me.

"I don't even know about such things, Oxyvi. Lucas told me it's really important to keep an eye on you because…"

"Bullshit! Lou, get out of here I don't want to listen how you plotted this against me and why. I want the damn reason of you lying to me??? Because you lied to me all this time how I can believe you, that whatever reason you will shit out on me, will be the truth. I thought we both were friends. I trusted you and you; you were backstabbing me all this time." Oxyvi barked.

Lucas came forward to shush me "Keep your voice low", Oxyvi glared at him "The audacity of yours…" 

The footsteps alerted each one of them. Oxyvi was the first one to open the door because she wanted to calm her nerves down. So, she decided to go away from them. She was sure that it must be Alec. 

"There you are Miss Sagitta" The person eyed her from top to bottom. 

"Yes, Mr. Eli" She felt uncomfortable under his cold gaze. She recognized him from the mortuary incident.

"His Highness must had informed you about the departure." Eli informed her and she stood there aloof, she was aware and packed everything up but in between she fell asleep and woken up by the nightmare followed by fight between the ones she trusted. 

"Just give me a minute to get ready, by the way my luggage is done." He studied her briefly and said, "Let me allow to carry your luggage." She nodded and followed him back inside her room. The room was totally opposite of what she left just a minute ago. 

"What the…." Oxyvi's face turned pale in horror as she involuntary took step back.
