A gem

"How about we settle this over a game of Chess? If you win I'll sell you my shares of the company" Mark declared

Fredrick was a reputable gambler who wins by any means, the only thing that he loves more than himself or family is any opportunity to make more money he would never turn down a game a Chess.

"You aren't that stupid, knowing all so well I have never lost a game, what exactly is in it for you then?" Fredrick curiously asked.

"Interested or not?" Mark considered the implications of his declaration quietly, but decided to take Fredrick out little by little.

"Sure" Fredrick couldn't let this opportunity pass by with Mark O'Neil's shares he would be the richest man in America. It was a golden opportunity that he won't let slide I mean Mark is only Kylie's manager because he wants to, not because he doesn't have a choice. Fredrick clapped his hands twice then two ladies entered with a Chess board, Meridith kept on adjusting her body at different angles, showing off her curves to catch Mark's attention but he couldn't care less.

Only a few minutes into the game and it seems like Fredrick had the upper hand.

"It will be better for you to call this off" Fredrick said confidently.

"In fact if you manage to win I will invest without getting anything in return" Fredrick continued knowing that Mark had only a slim chance of winning, but his words were like a green light for Mark, he called a checkmate after taking just two moves, it definitely caught Fredrick by surprise he analyzed the game again only to realize that Mark manipulated all his moves making him play all the moves Mark wanted him to play, Fredrick thought he had Mark wrapped around his finger but it turns out he was Mark's little puppet this whole time. Mark had utilized all the little pawns which Fredrick paid no attention to, to win the game. But he got to admit Mark's play was remarkable, the way he hid his motives disguising his thoughts and expressions making him seem like an amateur player is something worth praise from a master player like Fredrick even though he had lost to a man twenty years younger than him.

But that was only the first step in Mark's plan.

After a brief discussion Fredrick agreed to financing the new restaurant after all he lost to Mark he had to

"I've got to admit your skills are quite impressive who was your mentor?" Fredrick asked

"My younger uncle taught me"

"Oh and who's that?"

"The founder of Triumph Gaming International" Mark answers honestly, Fredrick eyes widened in shock

"Jason Cooper, the Jason Cooper?" Triumph Gaming International was listed as last year's highest paid international gaming company earning over a million dollars a month, Fredrick would have been a fool to lose ties with such a priceless Gem called Mark all for the sake of his idiot and stupid daughter who doesn't know a good opportunity even if it hit her in the face people like this are meant to be kept close to you at all times

"How about we go over the remaining clauses of the contract over dinner" Fredrick proposed while keeping his voice at the most minimum level, Meredith who couldn't get her hands off Fredrick immediately felt like a huge slap had just been delivered across her face, she changed her demeanor and sat right across Mark starring at this young man that is roughly around the age of twenty like a gift from God thinking of what a mistake she made marrying her husband who was no where close to the heir to the O'Neil legacy in terms of money and wealth and he is good looking too.

- Damn I married the wrong person - Meridith thought

"I'm afraid I have to decline" Mark said

"C'mon I'll pay for whatever, it's my treat" Fredrick continued desperately trying to make relations with Mark

"Hmm, sure but don't worry I can afford my own meal"

- Of course he can what was I thinking?- Fredrick thought

"Sure whatever you want"
