The bright light of the sun came through the window, beaming the sleeping boy, no older than 5 in the face. The boy sat up and stretched before getting out of bed. He stood up right, but suddenly felt as though he was hit by hammer.
He suddenly became aware that he was himself, but also a man named Austin.
The boy and Austin sat in their mental landscape. Typically mental landscapes are made during the course of a wizards life slowly built up over time to be the place of there dreams, and used to practice skills, and such during hours of rest. However this one was like a blank canvas, anything that the owner wants it to be, but at the moment a void of darkness. there is only enough light for the two of them to see one another.
The boy began to panic. "Mister, were are we, who are you, how do I go back," he exclaimed excitedly. Austin extended his hand and pat his head. "There is nothing to fear,"Austin consoled to the best of his abilities.
The boy, visibly upset, seemed to calm down a bit at Austin's words. "Who are you mister, and what's happening?" He stammered out more calmly this time.
Austin gave a small smile and explained,"I am you, but you are also me. You can just call me Austin though" The boy shook his head bewildered by that answer and asked, "What, if you're me why aren't you an elf, and if I am you, how am I not human? You're weird!"
Austin chuckled and smiled, "Things will be clearer soon. As for what we're doing, I'm correcting a mistake made a long time ago." The boy asked curiously, "What mistake?"
"I like your curiosity, kid don't lose it. For now though, take my hand." Austin extended his hand with an open palm.
The boy took his hand and they merged into one. The boy was now Austin and Austin was now the boy.
Outside of the the mental landscape, The boy was just standing still, for a minute, but now fell to his knees. "Ah, I see. So that's what happened. I'm am called, Tefir Magister," the boy muttered.
He looked into the mirror by his closet. staring back at him was a pale young boy around the age of five, with peircing blue eyes and shining golden hai- "Huh?" Tefir did, a double take. Since birth his hair was gold, but now it's as black as night. Tefir pulled at and ruffled his hair.
"This is gonna be hard to explain. No wait, I'm a child. childish naivete to the rescue. Still wierd to think I'm no longer human though." He thought as he took a closer look at his pointed ears.
"Tefir, is everything alright? It's unusual for you not to be down here by now," a concerned, feminine voice yells from down stairs. "I'm okay just confused," Tefir replies acting confused to the best of his abilities.
Footsteps can be heard coming up the stairs. "Confused about wha- Arcaniss' staff what happened to your head!" The woman who entered the room was, tefir's mother. She has a tall and elegant build, with beautiful blue eyes, long pointed ears, and shimmering golden hair, like Tefir's used to be. But more than that she was a worry wart.
Before Tefir could say anything, Tefir was dragged down stairs and placed in a comfortable chair. "Hang on sweetie, everything is going to be okay, Daddy will fix this" she turned her head toward another door and yelled, "Vaarn! Varrn! Get in here something happened!"
A loud boom emanated from the room that she yelled at. The door opened and smoke bellowed out. walking through the smoke coughing, was a handsome older man, he had long pointed ears, peircing blue eyes covered by a pair of glasses, and shoulders length dirty blonde hair covered in soot, wearing a long white robe also covered in soot. "Cough* Cough* Cough* What happened, Vel," he wheezed out.
