I was roaming the palace halls, pretending to be a servant. My heart drummed when I first saw her. Jasmine’s cat-like green eyes haunted me from the moment that I had met her. The new maid in our Saudi palace was everything I had ever dreamed of; a body that made every man kneel, her intelligence was beyond imagination and her passion set my whole world on fire.

Although I knew she truly loved me, her love for me was more like a game of push and pull. She did not wish to marry anyone, and certainly not me. 

Meeting Saphira back home in Malibu USA, had seemed like a welcome distraction. And although I resisted, we had deeply fallen. It was not something I could easily take back... Saphira was not everything that I had once dreamed of, and I certainly did not plan to love her. But I did regardless, irrevocably so.

Love Untangled

The three of us entered the grand dining hall. We were late. The whole family had already taken their seat. Like I had been every time I entered this room, I was nervous. It was one thing to be in the palace as a maid, it was an entirely other thing to be here as a guest.

We took a seat, and although I could of expected it by now, Benjamin sat on the other side of the table. Far, far away from me. I kind of hoped the ice between us would be broken now that we had spend some time together. I sighed.

"Why are you late?" The sultan barked at Benjamin. "It won't happen again," was the only thing he replied mindlessly, still looking at his phone.

"Let's eat," the sultan said, opening the meal. The first course arrived and when I wanted to take my first bite, I realized the sultan was still looking at me. I politely smiled. he smiled back, but still didn't look away.
