The team [Part-39]

"Don't eat breakfast tomorrow unless you wanna puke."-Kakashi

Kakashi ended his little speech and was about to teleport to who knows where. So, Veronica grabbed his shirt's sleeve and the two found themselves in front of a book store.

Veronica gave a look that said 'Seriously?'. While the man only gave a sheepish laugh in return.

"Hurry."

He nodded and entered the store.

Coughing a bit, Veronica drank some water from the bottle given to her by her new sensei.

'I spoke too much again.'

Veronica looked down and didn't notice the worried and sad expression Kakashi had while he was leaving. It still hurt to her more mentally than physically at not being able speak properly and sometimes she would show a bit of emotions which Kakashi easily caught on with.

"Why don't we get you some books too?"-Kakashi

Veronica nodded excitedly and the two went in. She had been wanting to take a look to see if there were new books in the bookstore for a while now.

[And you say you aren't a child.]-Matatabi

Matatabi's voice was teasing and Veronica was definitely not pleased to hear her being called a child.

'I am not a child!'

Her face had a frown as she replied to the tailed beast residing in her body.

[Well, only children get distracted so easily!]-Matatabi

'That isn't enough to prove that!!!'

[It is so!!!]-Matatabi

'It is not!!!'

Puffing out her cheeks in a childlike manner, she walked towards the history section of the book store. She could hear Matatabi giggle but chose to ignore her for a while.

Meanwhile, Tobirama sighed at how both of them were acting like children.

*If you're searching for that one person that will change your life, look in the mirror.*

She didn't find anything in the history section as Tobirama had already known of all those things and she would much rather learn it from him, as his information was much more accurate than from the books. So, she went on to the fiction section of the store and wasn't surprised at the basic and bland books present there.

It was safe to say that through Lily she had read a lot of good pieces of fiction. Even if some were fanfictions.

'*Sigh* You guys want me to check any other section?'

[How about the mature section?]-Matatabi

'There aren't any good ones except Icha Icha paradise and Kaka-San will already buy it.'

She went over to the literature section to try and find something. Although she wasn't particularly into literature type books, she still liked to pass her time reading.

'There are some political ones. Ones to help improve my writing skills. There are also some books about deciphering codes, so I think I'll take one of those.

I don't think I'll take the political ones.

Let's see... Are there any about poisons and stuff?'

She hadn't been able to research poisons and medicine well enough. She did want to pick out some ninja books on the same however, Kakashi's watchful eye made her unable to. Her being a civilian and an outsider at the time didn't help at all.

Grabbing two random books from the literature section, one about deciphering and making code languages and another about poisonous animals, she headed towards the register to meet with Kakashi.

They walked back home after they were done with their small shopping.

'There wasn't much information about poisons or even useful ones about being a medic nin.'

Kakashi rubbed his neck and tried to explain how it wasn't as she said so, but Veronica just giggled and ran ahead of him.

In the end, it was a good day. She hoped somewhere in her heart that maybe, just maybe, her new teammates wouldn't be too bad as well.

However, even she knew that it would only hurt her in the end to have hopes.

*Expectation... It is the root of all headache.*

The next day came far sooner than she would've wanted it to. Spending the night playing games with the two people inside her head clearly hadn't been the best decision. Sighing, she now recollected the memories of her clone which she had made to stay with Shisui for well over a day now.
