Standing in front of Heaven

Jem ran out of her fiance's apartment in tears. She stopped to stare at his door expecting he would open the door to beg her to come back to him. She wanted him to make her understand how sorry he was to hurt her feelings like that. But he did the exact opposite, she waited and waited but he didn't come after her.

Keith was sitting on his couch thinking about how his one mistake ended up ruining a beautiful relationship he has worked so hard to keep for four years. He would love to go after his girlfriend and try to fix things but it was senseless to him. There was no way his life with her will ever be the same no matter what he says or does so he thought it was best to let her go.

'It's our anniversary today and Keith surprised me with a dinner at Délicieuse Déli. We had so much fun eating at a fancy restaurant. Well for Keith it's normal, but I only ever go to a place like this when Keith takes me out to eat.

I waited till he was distracted before bringing out the gift I got him from my bag. When he turned to look at me again he saw I was holding out a wristwatch. His favorite brand.

He gasped quietly placing his hand over his face. I loved that he loved his gift.

"You shouldn't have." He smiled at me as I help him try the watch on. "Thank you. I love it."

I smiled and replied, " I knew you'd love it."

He stood up to kiss me on the lips. "I love you so much Jem." He breathed into mouth. "I can't believe you went out of your way to get me this. You're the sweetest thing ever." He grabbed my face and plunged his tongue into my mouth. I started getting nervous that he was kissing me like that in public.

"I love you too Keith." My face was red with excitement. He took his seat still holding my hands. I was still embarrassed cause people were staring at us but he didn't care his eyes were set only on me. That's why I have always believed in our love for each other, cause he always makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world.

After a few hours at Délicieuse Déli, we went over to his house. It's been a while since I came here cause he has been away on a business trip. Immediately we entered the house he took off his jacket and tossed it aside.

He suddenly grabbed my hips and attacked me with kisses on my neck, then my lips. It was difficult for me to catch my breath until he stopped for a while and whispered under his heavy breathing,

"Gosh! How I've missed you."

"Oh yeah, show me how," I whispered to him wrapping my hands around his neck.

He kissed me more intensely till I slumped on his couch. He took off his shirt, while I took off my jacket and left my dress on. I spread my body for him as he felt his weight on top of me, our lips still locked in passionate kissing.

Our tongue wrestled, my body felt hot as his hands played with all my sensitive parts. His desperate hands slid under my dress and felt his hand go up and down my thigh. His head went down then I felt his wet lips on my cleavage. I closed my eyes and let out a soft moan, it's been months since he did something like this to me I felt elated.

Just then his phone started ringing. He looked at his buzzing phone for a while then turned his eyes away and continued to kiss me.

"You have to take your call."

"Not now this is way more important." He kissed my neck. But I was reluctant, he is a businessman, and it might be a vital business call. I can't let him miss it for me.

"Please, Keith." I pouted.

He heaved a heavy sigh before standing up to take his buzzing phone. He noticed the caller was his mother, he sighed again rolling his eyes.

"Hey, Mom." He said forcing a smile, then there was a frown, his expression kept changing as the call went on and on.

That was all he said until the call finally ended. He looked stunned and I was curious to know what went wrong.'

Jem was jolted awake from her daydream when Arie told her they were here. Her eyes widened when she saw the glowing bright sign above the building.

"Heaven." she mouthed.

She stepped out of the car slowly while Arie watched her stare at Heaven with childlike wonder. She's never been to this part of the city talk more a place only the rich and famous go. She seems happy to be standing in front of the city's most popular club. Arie would have loved to go in there with her but Matt didn't invite him and it's a miracle for just anyone to get tickets to Heaven.

Jem noticed a short chubby man walk in with two hot girls. They were tall and beautiful. There were so many other beautiful and affluent people standing in front of the club. It was not as crowded as regular clubs but they were still more people than she expected to see.

She looked around trying to find Matteo in the small cue outside the club but couldn't. She knows if he was among them she would easily spot him because his head would be towering above most of the people present. It is always very easy to single him out of a crowd.

She couldn't stand across the street forever Matt could be inside waiting for her and he would leave her name at the door.

"I'll wait for you," Arie told her. She smiled and nodded at him before crossing the street. Her legs went numb when her feet stepped on the entrance of the most beautiful club her eyes would ever see.

Arie watched her cut the line of people going in. The group of women behind her didn't notice her they were busy laughing about something Jem didn't think was funny.

Jem noticed the line was because of recognition and the fact that it was an eventful evening in Heaven. A lot of celebrities had come to be part of it. Others are people who could afford their way in.

Jem has no famous name or background, among these people she is a nobody. Her only hope of getting it in is Matteo leaving her name at the door.

Everyone in line went in with ease. Like that the line kept moving until Jem found herself in front of a large black man. She immediately lost all confidence just seeing how tall he is.

"Hi." She stuttered waving at him.

"Pass." The large bouncer demanded wearing a rather intimidating frown.

She gulped dryly. "I'm with Matteo Valdez." Her lack of esteem made the bouncer easily doubt her.

"Really?" He pretended to be astonished then put on a smile that made her chuckle with relief.

"Yeah."

"Well in that case," he put on his horrifying frown and said, "Pass."

"I don't," She hesitated.

Someone from behind suddenly tapped her shoulder. She turned to see who it was with the expectation that it was Matteo. But instead of him, she saw Clarice and her friend Diane. She didn't know they cut the line to stand in front of those women as well.

"Excuse me, Miss but you're holding up the line," Clarice said.

She paved way for them to pass after apologizing. Her mood changed after seeing these two. She knows they hate her just as much as she hates them but they can't help showing it. They stopped in front of her to address her.

"You simply can't learn your place. Heaven isn't meant for people like you Jemma." Jem doesn't know why she refuses to get her full name right and she doesn't bother to correct her.

"Yeah, you should go to hell instead," Diane added which made Clarice high-five her then the two giggled.

After laughing about Daine's taunting for a while the two stopped to glare at her. She felt most threatened by Clarice who had warned her about keeping her distance from Matt.

She then turned to the bouncer. "Hey, Tim."

"My ladies." He bowed his head.

They walked in smiling at him and he at them. She felt even more embarrassed at herself. It reminded her that Matteo Valdez is way above her league in so many ways yet he stoops to her level just to be close to her. They even enjoy normal conversations as friends.
