A man stood in front of his fireplace the reflection of the burning flame reflected in his thin-rimmed glasses. He held a big cigar in one hand while the other was tucked in his pant pocket.
He could feel victory approaching because this time he is going to be ready for Silver. What's left of his plan is to find out who Silver is as well as learn his weaknesses.
Silver is like a company with no sole proprietor. But everyone knows the rumor that the owner is of course a man. No one knows who he is just the fact that he exits.
Once he discovers all he needs to know about Silver, there's no way Silver would be able to take him down, unlike the way he tamed his father.
"We have him here boss." A male voice spoke from behind him.
He puffs the smoke in his mouth with a smirk on hearing the good news. He had waited all day for his visitor to arrive, and now he is here things will get easier.
"Bring him." He ordered.
The man who spoke left to bring in the visitor while he waited patiently.
Claude thought it was going to be over soon after the police assured him they'll help him find the people after his life yet here he is standing amid his worst nightmare.
Being a mob boss he thought he was invincible until he came to realize there are bigger organizations than the Mafia Society and these people practically run the City.
He can't figure out who the demons in the shadow are no matter how hard he tries. That's why a criminal mastermind like himself had to get help from the police.
They finally took off his blindfold. He could now see where he was. He expected to be underground or somewhere like that but he was in a mansion. A big beautiful mansion.
There was nothing off about the place, if not that he was kidnapped he would be very comfortable being in a place like this.
Just while he was still enjoying his kidnap a man walked in waking his attention as well as that of the guards around him.
"Come with me, Mr. McGrath." The man spoke to him.
Claude doesn't have much choice, he needs to obey every word they say to get get out of this place alive.
He nodded and then stood up. He left with the man and two other guards.
Claude was expecting to see a scary-looking leader with scars and burnt marks. But to his surprise, it was a man half his age standing in the middle of a dimly lit room.
The young man was wearing sweatpants and a sleeping rope. His hair looks very messy like someone who just got out of bed. But telling the time he is supposed to be going to bed.
"Hello, Claude." The young man said to him with a smug smile on his face.
"What do you want." Claude gritted his teeth.
"Have a seat."
"Just state your business I don't have time to seat." Even though he was at the disadvantage here, he is still a Mafia boss.
He is not going to toss his pride because he is scared.
The young man, shrugged his shoulder. "Don't say I wasn't nice to you, I like making sure my guests are comfortable." He turned to look Claude in the eye.
"I've told you I don't have the answer you seek I don't know why you still bother me."
"You don't have the answer. But your daughter does."
Claude's lips fell open staring at the smug face of the young man standing before him. He hates when his daughter is mentioned in conversations like this. He does his best to keep her out of his dirty affairs.
"Please leave my little girl out of it."
"I'm not planning to hurt anyone I just need to know who Silver is. His real name that's all."
"That is impossible, no one knows."
"That's your job. Figure it out. You have one hundred hours or I'll get it off your precious daughter."
He looked at one of his men. The man nodded at his signal.
"Time to go, Mr. Chevalier,"
The one who spoke hit him on the head with his gun causing him to pass out.
The young man turned to face the burning fire while he listened to his men carry Claude's lifeless body out of his presence and the building in general.
The wall above the fireplace started to reflect blue light, then the face of an aged one eyed man appeared on the wall screen. His other eye was covered with a deep red eye patch. The left side of his face was deformed with claw marks.
"We are close to exposing him, father." The young man said with certainty.
"Becareful, Silver is no man. He is worst than the demons in the netherworld."
"You speak like you don't know your son. I will give you his head on a platter."
"Don't let me down, son. Get as close as you can so I can get out of this death hole."
Devon Hughes Jr. smoothed a smirk. He is going to find out who Silver is soon. It's exciting because Silver doesn't even know he exists.

Clarice took her drink in one gulp and then she place the glass on the table. She poured herself another glass of whiskey and drank it all without stopping to catch her breath.
It's unlike her to drink like this but what else could she do? After knowing Matt for nearly a year, and loving him unconditionally he still refuses to know she exists.
If not that she stalked him for a while she wouldn't have known his involvement with Silver. And the drama between Silver and Jem made her know he is not only involved with Silver. He is the infamous Silver himself.
She couldn't care less who he is, but watching him choose a baker over her is heartbreaking as it is embarrassing.
After trying for so long all her effort to jeopardize their relationship and win him over was in vain.
A woman such as herself loving a man like he is the only one on earth. She has never been so stupid in love before. Men are always the ones wishing to be close to her not the other way around.
She chugs three more glasses of whiskey without pity for her heart condition. The effect of drinking a strong whiskey like that started to exhibit.
She squeezed her chest whining softly. It felt like her inside was on fire, and there was a burning pain in her chest.
She leaned forward and rest her head on the bar. The pain was so severe that she started crying.
Diane has been searching for Clarice all over her father's penthouse. Turns out she was on the top floor sitting next to her father's bar.
She noticed Clarice was struggling with severe chest pain. She quickly ran toward her friend and just as she suspected she was drinking despite knowing her heart condition.
"Clari, what are you doing to yourself?" Diane helped her up and then led her to the sitting room nearby.
"I know Matteo is gorgeous and smart and every woman's dream, including mine..." She looked at Clarice's glaring eyes and smiled.
That was a joke to show Clarice how possessing she is of a man that isn't hers. Though it was a joke, there was a tinge of truth in it. Matteo is undoubtedly the most attractive man she knows.
"... He is perfect. But he isn't worth this Clarice."
"I can't lose him to a baker, I can't..,"
"You haven't lost him yet Clari. There is still a chance. A chance you won't get if you kill yourself by drinking alcohol."
"But he doesn't even know if I'm a girl or not."
"You're not a girl sweetie you're the girl. All we have to do is make him see that."
"How?"
Diane smirked. "I have ideas."
