She walked into the building looking around like it was her first time here. It feels like it, she got confused again cause she has no idea where she would take to get in.
She closed her eyes in the middle of the busy hall and then spun herself around with her index fingers extended.
After spinning for a few seconds she stopped and stared at the door her index finger was pointing at. She isn't so sure it's the right door, it's not like she has a better option.
A few people were distracted by the juvenile act of the stranger. To some, it was annoying to see an adult act that way but most of them found it a bit adorable.
A man in a completely black outfit stared intently at the monitor watching the activity in the entrance hall. He felt her presence as she arrived in a cab, he then connected the CCTV to his computer to watch her from his screen.
His brother thinks so highly of this girl, he has only seen her once which was at the meeting. Though she was rude, he found her very interesting.
He watched her look around obviously confused about where to go. Then she spins like a little girl not caring about what the people around her think.
She went in through the door her finger stopped at. It was a very disturbing thing to see an adult behave so childish.
It's annoying yet he thought her behavior suited her quite well. It suits her to be juvenile and annoying.
Kendra scoffs behind him irritated by her attitude.
"Even teenagers will know that's a dumb thing to do."
"Bring her to me." He said still watching her on the monitor.
She couldn't guess where to go next and the place she entered was empty.
She wanted to turn around to leave before she gets lost inside a building. But then she heard footsteps approaching she waited to see who it was.
It was a familiar face that showed, it made her sigh in relief.
"Hi, Edward." She called at him.
He tilted his neck and saw Jem waving at him. He adjusted his lens just to be sure his eyes weren't playing tricks on him.
"Hey, what are you doing here." He approached her.
"I came to see Matt, is he here?"
Edward looked around the empty hall before replying.
"He's not here."
***
"Bring her to me." He ordered. But raised his hand to halt her when he noticed Edward appear on the screen.
"Wait."
"She is supposed to be here to see you."
"Don't force it, Kendra."
He pushed his chair backward and then turned around to look at the dark gaze of his assistant. His expressionless assistant.
"She is here for my brother."
"But he isn't here, she should be seeing you instead."
"Don't worry by the time I'm through with her she'll be seeing only me."
Kendra gulped dryly. This new girl is bringing so many changes to all of their lives. Matt losses his esteemed pride around her, and now Trevor is getting soft toward her.
People like Jem should be tied up in his dungeon with his other prey, waiting for the day he decides to bring an end to their misery.
She doesn't know what her boss wants with her, but whatever it she hopes it ends with making dinner out of her.
She licked her lips as she thought of Jem as dinner. The rude ones always taste better.

Not seeing him today isn't part of the plan. She came to talk to him about their wedding.
"What do you mean, I need to talk to him."
"I wish I could help but he is not here I'm afraid."
"He is not answering my calls or my test and now he is nowhere to be found." Her tone was rising and echoing in the hall. She quickly stopped talking before she calls attention to herself.
Edward wasn't sure how to respond to this situation. He understands why his boss would do that to her but it's not his job to explain things to her.
She looked at Edward for a while, then said to him what she had in mind.
She rubbed her palms to get his attention before letting the words out.
"Please can I call him on your phone, please I just want to hear from him?"
It's the only thing she could come up with.
Edward scratched his head mumbling words she couldn't understand.
"I don't know..."
"Please." She whispered with cloudy eyes.
He brought out his phone a bit reluctant but he couldn't say no after seeing her pleading eyes.
They both waited patiently for Matt to answer the phone.
It took a while but he did answer. Edward then put it on speaker.
"Good afternoon boss," Edward said stuttering.
"What is it?" Jem's heart skipped a bit when she heard his voice.
"umm... It's Jem she's here to see you."
"Didn't you tell her I'm not in the office today?"
"I did, she insisted I call you, she said you two need to talk."
Matt was quiet for a while. That silence finally gave Jem the courage to open her mouth and say something to him.
But no words came out, her lips were wide open but she choked in her own words.
"Boss are you still there?"
"I'll call her when I have the time."
Matt is very aware that he is on speaker and she could hear him loud and clear that's why he said what he said.
"Wow!" She couldn't help but exclaim. Matt had already ended the call but he heard what she said.

Trevor was getting bored watching her and Edward talk about his brother. He didn't want to meddle but seeing how sentimental she was as she spoke to Edward about Matt gave him some weird feelings.
"Get her." He commanded Kendra who left immediately to fetch her.
Jem was broken by Matts's last statement, she's trying so hard but he is just making things harder for her.
Kendra walked up to them stunning them both.
"Hi, Ms Stacey."
"Hi."
"My boss sent me to bring you to him. I'll lead the way."
"Are you talking about the rude guy at the meeting the other day?"
Kendra bit her tongue seeing a random girl insult her boss like that. Even Edward got scared for a bit.
"I'm talking about Matts's older brother"
"I don't care who he is. I'm not going. Thanks, Edward" She said then left.
Kendra wanted to go after her and rip her into shreds. But then she heard Trevor's voice in her head.
"Let her go."
