Chapter 50 Lonely Mountain

"master, you have returned." Suyi greet Lucis when she saw him walking in from the front door. She was just about to go cultivating but she quickly cancel her plan.

"ah, Suyi. It's in the middle of the night and you still awake." Lucis sit on the couch in the living room and scan the mansion. Subin and Sukong have gone to sleep on the second floor.

"i was studying." Suyi said as she pour some tea for Lucis.

Suyi and her two younger brother have been living in Lucis mansion since 3 days ago. Lucis want them to focus on their training instead of the villager so he make them move in and leave their old house which really close to the other villagers houses.

"studying?" Lucis asked and look at the pile of book on the table. All the book come from the Murky town hall tower that belongs to the town lord. It's... ehem, donated by the town lord during Lucis late night visit previously.

"i didn't know you can read." Lucis look at Suyi with surprised. She live so roughly that there's no hint of her being able to read book, it's almost impossible for Lucis to believe.

Suyi stunned a bit by what Lucis said then she slowly sit on the opposite side of Lucis. "we have a lot of book back then when my father's still alive.." Suyi paused and look down reminiscing his past. "i sold all our book after he passed away to support my younger brother." Suyi face is calm as she said it without any hint of sadness. She only think about the pass as one of her past memories.

Lucis impressed by Suyi temperament. She so young yet so mature, maybe even more than himself.

"erm. It's good that you know how to read then." Lucis smile and feel proud like Suyi is his own daughter. He was thinking about teaching Suyi how to read and write for sometimes already.

"anyway.." Lucis said casually as he wave his hand and a ripples in the air appear a few meters from Lucis and Suyi.

The ripples quickly transforming into Muzin and Shuzan. Suyi unconsciously jump at Lucis and hug his hand frightened by what happened. Usually when Lucis appear, there's no ripples and there's no energy wave like that, he just appear. This time, the ripples appear and it's transforming into a 30 years old dude and an old man that looks scary without being angry.

"whoa, whoa WHOA!" Muzin shout scared by the sudden change of the environment making his head spinning again like he's drunk. He was discussing something with Shuzan when he suddenly feel his body getting drag out of the dimension.

Shuzan taking it a bit better. He quickly calm his energy and let the transfer do it's job. Some pocket dimension behave similar to this especially the legacy cave. There's no path to their legacy except through transfer array.

Lucis lay down on his couch laughing out loud at Muzin reaction.

When Muzin saw Lucis and noticed he's been laughing at him, he quickly composed himself and stand calmly feeling embarrassed. He knew that Lucis really love making fun of other people, especially him. Lucis has been trolling at him when they're still in the cave.

"brothers, welcome to my humble mansion." Lucis said while trying to half back his laughter. Suyi still in a daze, holding Lucis arm in confusion, she keep looking at Lucis and the two newcomer without blinking.

"ehem, brother Lucis, can you please warn us before doing something like that in the future?" Muzin let out a small cough and scan his area and his gaze finally landed on Suyi. Both Muzin and Shuzan look at Suyi curiously.

"ah!" Suyi jump back with a red face. in just 3 second, she returns to her normal expression. She quickly read the atmosphere and realized that the two of them is Lucis friends.

"excuse my manner. Eherm, my name is Suyi." she bow formally using the bow towards elderly. Head down and bend her left leg as she greet them. Actually this kind of way greeting only use by servant of the big family and nobles.

"aah." Shuzan said as he rub his beard and examine her with his devine sense. Muzin lost interest after she introduced herself, instead he look around at the strange architecture around him.

"a bit late but a hard working indeed." Shuzan said after he noticed the scar around Suyi body. To be able to sense the world energy, rough cultivator usually push their body limit to develop the energy sense in their body. As such, Shuzan thought Suyi use this extreme way to reach this stage

"is it?" Lucis smile looking at Shuzan acting like a grandmaster. "actually, she just start cultivating months ago." Lucis added.

Shuzan suddenly went quite as he once again envelope Suyi with his sense and investigate her energy. Sure enough, the energy in his body doesn't look like it's mature enough and barely settled down in her body. Basically, she still not one with the nature.

"30, not bad, not bad" Shuzan laugh and and stroke his beard in grandmaster manner. He can roughly sense around 30 drop of energy within Suyi body.

Lucis look at Muzin that still in daze looking around at his mansion.

"let's rest for today. I'll show you the place around tomorrow." Lucis said as he stand up. "Suyi, show these two our guest room."

Muzin and Shuzan nod calmly and follow Suyi. They have to hide their amazement in front of junior or she would think they're county bumkin instead. They have to show the grandmaster image towards junior and let them show some respect.

Lucis was just too lazy to deal with them after mining the whole day. He scan the surrounding village area for any dangerous beast and went to sleep.

Somewhere within the endless mountains, on top of one of these mountain, there's a silver fox stand silently as it head facing the DragonFort Village direction.

The fox blend perfectly among the snow on it's feet that only it's sky blue eyes can be seen shining occasionally on the top of the mountain.

"human..." the fox said in a low voice. It voice filled with longing and sadness.

"master..." the fox look up the dark sky that has been covered by the black cloud covering the star and moon that usually shine at night like this. The snow fall gently but seemingly endless.

"i will chase my dream no matter what. I finally found a human that doesn't hate demon like me..." the fox expression mixed with sadness and determination as it slowly shift it's gaze back down on the ground.

The fox shake his body and all the snow in it's body fall off. It turn it's head down gently looking at the small cave entrance not from where the fox standing. The entrance is made of ice that look cold even without standing on it.

with a gentle shake, the fox disappeared and reappear at the cave entrance then it slowly walking inside the cave without looking back.

The inside of the cave is simple. In one look, someone would noticed that human used to live here. There's a stone bed at the size of adult human, simple kitchen that hasn't been used for so long it start collapsing and a platform and praying mat usually use by human in meditation.

On the wall behind the stone bed has been carved by the words "Lonely Mountain".

The fox jump on top of the stone bed and curl up looking at the cave entrance as it slowly close it's eyes.

"..the lonely mountain sang.. it dream of one day.. the sea.. sky and heaven.. send.. friend.."

The fox sang in low voice and stutter as it cried with it's eyes close. The silent in the cave making her voice clear with the sound of the fox sobbing.

The cold wind blow gently inside the cave like it's trying to make the fox fall asleep peacefully.
