Worried

At the Liu mansion,

"What do you think about this?" Serena Liu asked looking at her husband.

Jeffery Liu looked at his wife and sighed, "I am sure Juan knows what he is doing, dear."

Serena shook her head as she leaned on her husband's shoulder. She furrowed her brows thinking about his relationship with Tara.

Serena was against Juan and Tara dating from the start. It was not because she didn't like Tara or something else. It was because she know about her son.

She, Jeffery, Anthony, and Garcia were all there when Tara confessed to Juan. Serena and the others immediately felt bad for Tara as they thought that Juan will reject her without a second thought.

They received the shock of their life when Tara and Juan got together. Never in their dreams did they think of that. In everyone's mind, though Juan and Lyra never dated or confessed, they were a couple.

Seeing Juan with Tara was really difficult for them. But they also didn't voice their opinions as they didn't want the kids to feel pressurized. If Lyra and Juan didn't end up together they would have felt bad but they won't force their wishes on their kids. So Serena and Jeffery didn't ask Juan about his relationship. They let the younger generation figure it out themselves.

And Serena and Jeffery were aware of the reason Juan was being away from Lyra. They know. So they did try to talk to him once about it. But Juan was so adamant about his decision. So they just warned him not to date Tara if he was not serious about it. If he was gonna hurt her he better stay away from Tara. But Juan promised that he is not joking.

And just like he said he tried his best to be a partner to Tara. But the matters of the heart can never be controlled. That's why he put so much distance between them.

Now Serena felt a headache coming her way hearing that Tara and Juan broke up. She felt like opening Juan's head and looking into his thoughts.

Jeffery also furrowed his brows seeing the mess that has been created by his son slowly. They both sighed.

"I just wish that things will not get awkward between the friends. And I am not sure how the relationship between Tara and Lyra and Lyra and Juan will progress now. I am worried Jeff," Serena expressed her concern to her husband and sighed.

"Let us not meddle. They are old enough to handle this on their own. We will only intertwine if things get out of hand," Jeffery Liu consoled Serena and patted her head in an attempt to calm her down.

Lyra and Juan looked at each other as they stood in the parking lot. They both reached the apartment after work and came out of the car after parking their car.

Lyra felt like running away and seeing Juan there. She still hasn't forgotten how he just behaved so cold with her. She was so used to the old Juan that even after almost 6 years, she couldn't get used to this cold, unbothered, detached Juan.

Still, she gathered her courage and met his eyes. His eyes were devoid of any emotions.

Lyra wanted to ask him something, anything. But seeing that look in his eyes which was no different from looking at a stranger she felt like someone was choking her neck from talking anything.

She can't bear to look at him anymore. Lyra turned her heels and walked away from him. Juan immediately raised his hand to her back. But at the moment when his hands were about to grab hers, he stopped himself.

'No. Don't even dream of it,' Juan told himself inwardly.

He followed Lyra in a distance. They both took the same elevator. Juan and Lyra lived in the same building. Juan and Joel owned the top two floors followed by Lyra and Oona.

The inside space was silent but the atmosphere wasn't. It felt so pressured that it had been a third person they would have suffocated.

They were looking at each other through the mirror without breaking their eye contact. To be more specific, Lyra was glaring and Juan was just meeting her gaze.

Lyra felt like smoke was coming out of her ears, and even on top of her head.

'This man! Can't he even bother to tell me a hello? I am gonna bury him alive!' Lyra puffed her cheeks annoyed.

Ding*

The elevator door opened on Lyra's floor. She angrily stomped her feet and walked out of the elevator.

She walked two steps before she turned and glared at Juan.

"Juan Liu, Am I a stranger now? You don't even bother to say hi to me?" Lyra asked him aggrieved.

Dang*!

She stomped loudly to stop the elevator door which was going to close. She was not going to leave this guy today.

Though she had not yet decided on things between them, but she knows that deep inside she would chase him again. The only thing which was making her hold back slightly was because of Tara.

Though Tara seems like she is totally fine. She even behaved like their fan when she got drunk on that day. And that incident has reduced her guilt to almost none.

The words spewed by a drunk person will always be true in most cases. And Lyra believed that was the case with Tara too as she was genuinely wishing them to get together now.

"Hmph, I wish to smash that ice face!"n Lyra angrily scolded him.

Juan's lips twitched hearing her. She was speaking as if he wasn't the person she was talking about, as if he wasn't near her.

But he didn't tell her anything and just stood there like before.

Lyra walked back into the elevator again and stood beside him.

Juan gave her a side glance, "Go home."

"Why?" Lyra snorted.

"I want to be alone."

"No," Lyra rejected as she knew that he will manipulate her.

Lyra followed Juan to his apartment. Just as she was about to enter, she saw that Juan had no intention of inviting her in. So she took the task upon herself and made herself comfortable.

"Cook for me. I am hungry" Lyra ordered.

She threw her bag and coat at the entrance wanting to annoy Juan too. As Juan had OCD, seeing her behaviour will piss him off. And that's exactly the result she wants!

Juan pursed his lips and placed her bag and coat in a proper position. Then he did the same with her shoes and followed her inside.

He saw Lyra walking in his home slippers and she sat on the kitchen island as if waiting for him to come and serve her food. Juan sighed.
