The Sith always betray one another... I'm sure you'll learn that soon enough.

The overthrow of the Republic is complete. The Separatist forces have been smashed, the Jedi Council nearly decimated, and the rest of the Order all but destroyed. Now absolute power rests in the iron fist of Darth Sidious- the cunning Sith lord better known as the former Senator, now Emperor, Palpatine. But more remains to be done. Pockets of resistance in the galaxy must be still be defeated and missing Jedi accounted for... and dealt with. These crucial tasks fall to the Emperor's ruthless enforcer, Darth Vader. In turn, the Dark Lord has groomed a lethal apprentice entrusted with a top secret mission to comb the galaxy and dispatch the last of his master's enemies, thereby punctuating the dark sides victory with the Jedis doom. 

Since childhood, Vader's nameless agent has known only the cold, mercenary creed of the Sith. His past void, his present, the carrying out of his deadly orders. But his future beckons like a glistening black jewel with the ultimate promise to stand by the only father he has ever known, with the galaxy at their feet. It is a destiny he can realize only by rising to the greatest challenge of his discipleship, destroying Emperor Palpatine. 

The apprentice's journeys will take him across the far reaches of the galaxy, from the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, and to the planet of Naboo, and to the home planet of the Jedi Coruscant, and the home planet of Luke Skywalker Tatooine, and last but not least Kamino. On these missions, the young Sith apprentice will forge an unlikely alliance with one of Emperor Palpatine's Hands and wrestle his feelings for her, Mara Jade. And he will be tested as never before- by shattering revelations that strike at the very heart of all believes and stir within him long- forgotten hope's of reclaiming his name... and changing his name.

Star Wars: Union..

Vader grabs the boys hand and pulls him up so he can stand. He then forces him through the door and makes him walk down the hallway. They turn and another door opens showing a row of tables and chairs. 


Sit, Vader commanded him. A soldier walks over to Vader and gives a short boy. 


Give him anything he desires treat him as you would treat me. Said Vader to the officer. With that the Sith Lord walked out of the room. The officer walks towards the boy and looks at him bewildered. 


Hours later Vader returned. Come with me, he said to the boy. As they were walking Vader thought he would try to learn more about the boys origins. 


What's your name? Vader asked him. The boy looked up at him and responded. My name is Cale Lestin. As the boy talked Vader could tell that some of the death had left his eyes and he seemed to be more aware of his surroundings. 


He looked at Vader and said. I chose to die why have I been spared. Vader really didn't know himself but he gave him this response. 


People that would rather live and lose their pride then die with honor don't deserve to serve the Empire. Said Darth Vader. The door to the shuttle closed and the ship blasted off towards the Executor. As the doors opened back up a Commander stepped in front and says. My Lord the Emperor would like to speak with you. 


While I talk to Emperor start heading to the Death Star I want to see it's progress. Replied Darth Vader. Vader and Cale walked to a room that was very dark and suddenly Vader got on one knee and knelt towards what appeared to be nothing. 


Then a hologram appeared of a very old man. Vader quickly grabbed Cale's arm and jerked him down to get him to also bow. He felt as if he ripped his arm off. The man then spoke. It is good to see you my old friend.


The feeling is mutual my Master. Replied Darth Vader. Cale couldn't believe it this is the man that everyone feared. He was the only person that Darth Vader the Dark Lord of the Sith would obey. 


His name is Cale Lestin and he comes from Raven 5 the Force is strong with this one Master. I thought you could take him as one of your Hands and train him. Replied Darth Vader. The Emperor then closed his eyes and breathed in heavily. 


No, I will not train him you will take him as your apprentice he seems to want it that way. The Emperor said as he smiled. How did he know what he was thinking he thought. 


The reason I have called you is that it's time to revisit the planet of Kashyyyk. I trust you know what to do. Said Emperor Palpatine. The transmission then ended. 


Darth Vader rose but Cale still bowed towards his new Master. Vader in a deep dark voice said. Do you wish to learn the ways of the dark side of the Force. He responded with. If you teach I will learn. 


Hence forth you shall be known as Darth Rift. Now rise. Said Darth Vader.
