Awkward (1)

The next day. Fyre woke up almost 10am in the morning with a massive headache. He slowly sat up from his bed and massaged his temples while groaning in pain.

"Fuck! My headache is killing me!" He whispered, closing his eyes as he continued to press on the area where it hurt the most. After a long while, he felt like he got used to the pain and he looked around his bedroom wondering how he got there. However, as soon as he tried to remember how, his face turned pale as memories came rushing to his head like an angry tidal wave.

"Shit!" He silently cursed and groaned. The memories of Tian Zi and another Alpha, Maverick, kissing caused a little sting in his heart but he quickly brushed that off remembering the rest of what had happened last night. The former part he was determined to not let it affect him any longer as he promised that would be the first and last but the latter... just thinking about it he would rather want to ground to swallow him.

Him crying and going mad drunk because of what he saw; Causing trouble to everyone especially to Joaquinn who was nice enough to help him—he should apologize later—in the first place, why would seeing Tian Zi with someone hurt him? The Alpha can kiss or fuck whoever he wants, Fyre will never care for it any longer.

Fyre got off of his bed and proceeded to the bathroom. He didn't usually take a shower in the morning and instead did it at night before bed but since obviously he wasn't able to clean his body last night, he would take a bath knowing that he still smelled disgusting from drinking too much.

"Huh? Why's this here?" Fyre asked himself confused, looking at a stainless basin lying upside-down on the tiled floor. He proceeded to pick it up and placed it by the sink. He didn't mind it any longer as he's too tired to think about it and just proceeded to take a shower. His shower has taken almost 20 minutes to finish but when he was done he felt completely refreshed and clear in mind.

Just like his normal daily routine, he wore his newly bought black hoodie after wearing a white sleeveless underneath paired with simple shorts. Since he went to Hawaii in a rush, he brought no clothes with him except the ones he wore so instead, the Mo family had shopped him and Remi many clothes the day they arrived. At first, both him and Remi didn't want to accept it but they really didn't have a choice because they left in a rush and didn't have clothes to wear for the whole vacation.

Stepping out of his room feeling extremely famished, Fyre planned to head to the kitchen. It's already lunchtime in 2 hours but he believed he'd never last until then. Thankfully, since this was the last day of the vacation, there was no plan to go out somewhere so everyone could have time to relax before the flight. Enjoying a simple meal while not worried about time shouldn't be too much to ask.

"Good morning," Fyre was still walking towards the kitchen but he suddenly jumped in surprise when he heard a familiar voice greet him from a corner that's too difficult to detect when not paying attention. Fyre looked at the upset-looking Alpha but remembering what had happened last night, he could care less about him anymore.

"What's so good about the morning?" Fyre grumbled and proceeded to walk to the kitchen, hoping that he could ask one of the maids to prepare him a light snack just enough he could last until lunchtime.

"You tell me." Tian Zi countered and asked the Omega back with his arms crossed against his muscled chest. He had been waiting for Fyre to wake up, still bitter about last night so he couldn't hide how upset he was about it. Meanwhile, Fyre was forced to halt his walk hearing the Alpha's reply as he turned around to raise his brow on him.

"I don't know...What do you want?" Fyre replied in a monotone after a big and long sigh. Last night he felt so miserable but now, it felt like he didn't feel anything at all. The way he looked at Tian Zi was as if the Alpha was someone he didn't really care about and for the most part, he truly didn't care anymore. It was easier to kill whatever he felt last night this way. He can't let himself become so wrecked and pathetic like that again.

"What do I want??" Tian Zi repeated in shock. He's looking at Fyre as if he was looking at the old Omega when he first met him. Or in fact, worse. Fyre was colder. His eyes are void with any emotions.

"Yes, what do you want? Why are you giving me that kind of look? Have I done something to upset you because the last time I checked I didn't?" Fyre replied, immediately bored at this conversation. Even though he decided he would not care or whatsoever, he would still prefer not to talk to the Alpha for now because it still feels a little bit awkward on his part. And he can't even blame Tian Zi for it because the Alpha simply didn't do anything wrong. Last night was just all him, it was all Fyre. He hurt himself and now he will move on by himself. He just needs a little distance from him for the time being.

"Last night. You got yourself wasted when I've already warned you..." Tian Zi replied a little bit hesitant after hearing Fyre's words because it's true. Why was he even upset? The Omega certainly didn't purposely do anything to upset him. It was just him who was feeling this way the whole night because he couldn't let go of the fact that Fyre clung to Joaquinn instead of him who was closer to him.

"And so? Nothing happened, right? I apologize for not listening but it's not like I caused you trouble in particular. I know you're worried about me and maybe find it troublesome to take care of me but Tian Zi really, I'm not a kid. Remember, I'm older than you so you don't need to tail me around. I thank you for all the help you've done to me but you can stop now. I won't cause you trouble any longer." Fyre replied with a frown before finally stopping to massage his temples. He truly doesn't understand why the Alpha was coming at him like this but he wasn't in the mood to humor him.

"Anyway, can we stop having this conversation for now? My head and stomach are killing me..." Fyre added with a helpless sigh. All of a sudden his headache had come back and it felt like a nice meal and a cup of coffee would make him feel better.

Prepared to turn around, Fyre waited for Tian Zi to reply but when he saw that the Alpha wasn't talking, he finally turned around only to be stopped as Tian Zi held his hand.

"A-are you angry with me? Did I do something wrong?" Tian Zi asked. He looked like a golden retriever with his tail between his legs. He didn't know why but he could feel that the Omega was angry with him. He thought he got closer to Fyre but it felt like their relationship had gone beyond zero. He knew that his approach just now wasn't right but he could feel that wasn't just the reason.

"Hah? Why would I? Tian Zi, you're overthinking things. Anyway, I'm kinda hungry so can I go now? You're done right?" Fyre replied with a frown, pulling his arm away. He didn't wait for Tian Zi to reply and just proceeded to get out of there as he no longer wanted to keep the conversation. Thankfully, Tian Zi didn't follow him to the kitchen, making him sigh in relief.

"Hi, can I have a simple meal and a cup of coffee?" Fyre asked the maid who happened to be there preparing snacks probably for Daniel Mo and the kids. Since he noticed no one was inside the mansion except Tian Zi, the whole family was probably at the patio or by the beach.

Fyre sat on the chair and waited for his meal. The reason why he didn't go ahead and make his own food was because Laura Mo scolded him when he did last time, saying that the maids and butlers are there to give him food and that he didn't need to trouble himself for it. After that incident, he didn't do it again and just did what was told to him

"Thank you," Fyre said and not long after, finally, he was served with a small serving of pasta with bread and a cup of broad coffee. He silently ate his meal and it felt like it truly helped him relieve his hangover—the coffee especially.

As he was eating, someone walked inside causing him to almost choke on his food.

"Are you okay now?" Joaquinn asked, looking at him briefly before walking towards the refrigerator to pour himself a glass of water. At the same time, memories of last night once again rushed inside Fyre's head and he couldn't help but blush in embarrassment knowing that he clung to the Alpha last night and he had seen him in such a mess. He didn't purposely want to do that but last night he wasn't thinking straight and troubled the Alpha.

"I-I'm fine... I'm so sorry about last night... I didn't mean to do that to you..." Fyre said hesitantly, still blushing in so much embarrassment. He wasn't even that close to Joaquinn and only just started talking to him days ago but he showed that side of him. He wants the ground to swallow him right now out of embarrassment.

"It's fine. I wanted to help you. Also, do you have a headache? I can ask someone to get you medicine for that...coffee won't help you." Joaquinn offered. Truly, the Omega didn't need to feel embarrassed. He had a choice to ignore him last night but he didn't because he wanted to help.

"No, it's fine. I'm good with coffee..."

"Hmm, okay..." Joaquinn replied, staring at Fyre. He then proceeded to take a seat across the Omega and just sat there making Fyre all uncomfortable and awkward with the pair of eyes on him.
