Dark Past (3)

Quickly running away, Fyre's body began to tremble. He had seen things like that on TV shows and movies and that was okay to him but seeing Lucien just now, reality was far too different. The eerie sight of fresh and drying blood and the scent of it that spread around the room, the brutality of what he had seen was just too much for him especially knowing that the policeman had done nothing wrong and was just doing his job.

While he does know that things could go bad if they let the policeman be, but was it necessary to torture and kill him? It's like for Lucien, taking one's life was as trivial as taking a walk down the street.

"Fyre!" Calling from afar, Fyre flinched and halted as he turned around in horror seeing Lucien running to catch up to him. Although his expression was worried, Fyre still couldn't help but tremble even more when the Alpha was finally close to him and touching his hand with his bloodied hand. He knew something about Lucien that seemed to be dangerous but he ignored that because he was nice and caring to him, now he didn't know what to do.

"Fyre, are you scared of me?" Lucien asked with a defeated voice, as he carefully caressed Fyre's hand but deep inside, his body also trembled with thrill as he saw how the Omega quiver before him.

'So cute~' Lucien thought as his eyes lit with desire. He purposely smudged the blood he had on his hand onto Fyre and his lips couldn't help turning upward when the Omega's tremble began to get worse as he pulled away from his hold.

"I-I really need to go... I'll talk to you later," Fyre quickly dodged the question and soon dashed away. Meanwhile, looking in the direction where the Omega disappeared again, Lucien gasped in need as his lower half began to stiffen again. Goosebumps covered his body as he fought himself trying to convince himself to wait a little longer.

Unfortunately, he didn't expect to continue to avoid him even after a week had passed.

Fyre began distancing himself from Lucien because he just didn't know what to do. He does feel guilty for suddenly avoiding the Alpha just because he saw him that one time but as time passed he also began to discover a lot of things from the organization. Given the fact that Lucien also no longer tried to hide things from him to the point where all of a sudden he would constantly see people coming out of their hideout either dead or half-dead from torture and whatnot. And for some reason, Fyre didn't know if it was on purpose or not but the Alpha would sometimes showcase his brutality and savageness in front of everyone. While everyone didn't mind and even encouraged the Alpha, Fyre who wasn't used to these kinds of things wasn't having any of it.

In his eyes, Lucien was suddenly a savage beast, the most dangerous kind but at the same time, a beast that would treat him the kindest to the point that he'd begun to feel guilty for turning down his invites every time. Because even though it is true that Lucien had sadistic tendencies it seems, he had done nothing wrong to Fyre. In fact, he remained nice and very considerate of him. But then again, he just couldn't help it. Back then he didn't feel it but ever since that time, he knew Lucien was much more dangerous and different than what he actually was outside.

These kinds of thoughts kept on occupying his mind for weeks as well that he really didn't know what to do anymore so for now he decided he would just avoid Lucien until he made up his mind.

"Fyre..." Lucien called softly as Fyre tried to avoid him again today as always. Since he had been treating Fyre so well for the past year, he thought it would only last a couple of days but it has been three months now and Fyre was still avoiding him to the point that he was barely holding back. In the span of three months, he had gained more than four tattoos all over his body to remind him to be patient but Fyre was truly testing his patience. However, he could not do anything because it was not the right time.

"How long are you going to keep on ignoring me?" He asked and this time reached out to trap Fyre against the wall. Fyre was so shocked at the sudden action that he abruptly pushed the Alpha on his chest where he didn't know the Apha had a fresh tattoo, making Lucien groan in pain even though it barely hurt. In his mind, had no choice but to pretend, he had to do something before his prey drifted away from him even further.

"Oh my gosh! I-I'm sorry. I-I only pushed you lightly." Fyre panicked as he neared the Alpha.

"I-I have a wound here," Lucien groaned and held the area where had just pushed.

"What?! I'm sorry. I didn't know... I should call the doctor to help you," Fyre said in panic and was about to leave when Lucien held his arm.

"You don't need to. All I need is you..." Lucien conveyed instantly making Fyre blush in shock because the way the Alpha said it seemed like it had a double meaning.

"W-What!?"

"I mean, I'll be okay if you help me rest in my room. I don't want to trouble anyone with such a trivial thing," Lucien replied with a helpless smile, however that quickly made Fyre frown. Everybody knew how tough Lucien was, even when he was shot with bullets or stabbed and had bandages all over his body, you wouldn't be able to see him groan in pain. It was as if he was immune to pain but with his light push just now, he was already breathing heavily so there was no way it was just a trivial thing. Nevertheless, Fyre humored the Alpha and finally nodded since it is also true that with the way he looked now, he needed to rest for sure.

"Fine. Come on," Fyre contemplated, chewing on his lips but he later nodded in defeat and assisted Lucien and it wasn't long before they reached the Alpha's room.

"I'll call the doctor—"

"It's okay, it's not that painful anymore," right before Fyre could leave, Lucien held his arm and said. Fyre sighed and didn't believe it so he frowned at the Alpha before he raised his eyebrow.

"Fine! Then at least let me see your wound. I won't feel at ease unless I see it. Then I'll judge whether it is really nothing or the opposite," Fyre negotiated, crossing his arms over his chest but seeing this, Lucien suddenly chuckled.

"Are you not afraid of me anymore?" He asked and softly pulled the Omega closer to him. Fyre was shocked and attempted to pull away but Lucien was prepared and didn't let go. It may not seem like it but he's been irritable ever since Fyre started ignoring him so there was no way he was going to let go now. He needed the Omega's full trust before he broke it. It's just more fun and satisfying that way.

"Ack! Let go! I-I wasn't scared of you..." Fyre lied and struggled away but he simply couldn't pull away.

"You're not? Then why have you been avoiding me ever since that day?... Fyre... I'm not a good man. I won't lie about it, but please believe me if I said I wouldn't hurt you," Lucien expressed, his expression was filled with sincerity and as always, Fyre couldn't help but fall for it.

"It's been more than three months you know... And you know what I've been hearing from the other members?" Lucien slowly let go of Fyre, seeing that he had no plan of running away anymore.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, it's not like you're an Omega but they keep talking about how beautiful you have become in the past year… I can't retaliate because it is true. You used to be so small following me around so I want you to be careful. Even if you're a Beta, that doesn't mean those hooligans would let you go, okay?" Lucien warned, causing Fyre to widen his eyes but later he tried to calm himself down and hesitantly nodded. There has not been a single mistake in his medicine and for the past year, he had not gone into heat so he thought no one would find out. He also made sure to separate himself from Alphas and in fact, Lucien was the only Alpha that he was very close to but then now, he couldn't believe the way his body grew was making people see him as such.

Even though now no one suspected that he was an Omega, it's just a matter of time before they would connect the dots.

"That's good then. Just stay away from them and try not to roam around alone and if you feel like you're in danger, you can come into my room anytime. No one would dare go inside here, I'll give you a copy of my keys later, okay?"

"Lucien, why are you doing this? You're so nice to me even though I've been avoiding you for the past months," hearing the Alpha's words, Fyre couldn't help but blush. Lucien was already doing so much for him and he didn't want to misunderstand.

"What do you mean? Do I have to have a reason to be nice to you?"

"Well..."

"Stop thinking about it. Obviously it doesn't matter. I just want to help you, okay?"

"Okay... But I still need to look at that wound," Fyre nodded again with a sigh and he later insisted as he did not forget that the Alpha was currently wounded.

"Ah that, don't worry really. It's nothing serious at all," Lucien helplessly assured. He thought Fyre had already forgotten about his wound.

"NO! I need to see it. Come on, take off your clothes..." Fyre continued to insist and this time pulled on Lucien's clothes and urged him to remove them but as soon as he saw the Alpha's torso covered with tattoos, he halted in shock. Well, it's not that he had a prejudice against people who had tattoos but he just didn't think Lucien had one. The thought never crossed his mind. He had never seen Lucien take off his clothes before and so he just assumed he'd see normal skin rather than an ink-filled one.

"I didn't know you had this many tattoos," Fyre simply commented while Lucien just scratched his nape awkwardly. Since he was trying to portray a good-guy image, he didn't let Fyre know he had tattoos. It's not that people who had tattoos are bad people but having none would help the image he was trying to go with.

"Ah, yeah. It's kind of my hobby but really I'm fine. I was just in pain because I had a new tattoo and you touched it," Lucien confessed, pulling down his clothes because he didn't think he would be able to hold back if he took off his clothes in front of the Omega. Meanwhile, hearing his response, Fyre frowned before taking a step back to figure out what was going on.

"Wait, did you just pretend that you were hurt so I would talk to you?" Fyre accused because he just couldn't believe the Alpha would act like he was in so much pain from an unhealed tattoo when he wouldn't even flinch with a gunshot or a stab.

"Are you mad?" Lucien replied without denying it.

"*sigh* No... Just don't do it again. From now on, I won't avoid you again."

"Okay... but I guess my acting was worth it." Lucien chuckled, which only Fyre responded with an eye roll.

After their short conversation, as promised Fyre no longer avoided Lucien and truth be told, he thought he could no longer get closer to the Alpha than he already was but they actually got even closer to the point where he was dreading to tell him already that he was actually an Omega but just couldn't find the right time to tell it to him without Lucien getting upset because he hid it all this time.

Unfortunately, many months had passed and he was already 18 when he would learn the fact that the Alpha actually knew since the beginning. And the fact that all this time, the care and kindness that was shown to him was all just an act to lure him in his trap.
