The boy that was Luck

On the floor sat a small, childlike person with frail bodybuild and neck-long red hair.

He didn't look any different than an ordinary human child, for the one difference was that a set of angel wings came out his back a little above his pelvis.

The gods started to cheer in excitement and shock about this, even for gods, unnatural way of birth.

Zeus was about to step towards the new god, yet Nemesis already was before the one still sitting on the floor, before he could even move.

Nemesis quickly grabbed the hands of the god and pulled them towards her chest.

Zeus and Aphrodite were about to run after her, thinking she was about to harm them, yet they were both held back by Ares and Apollo, who both just had a smirk on their face as if they won a battle.

Without a word, both of the thoroughly worried gods just looked at them, then at each other, and back the Nemesis, who again had tears in her eyes, still holding the god's hands.

The Child-god had yet to open his eyes, yet he already had an overly confused look on his face.

As soon as he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the face of Nemesis, which already had tears running down her face, yet this time with a big smile.

She tried her best to speak in a quiet calm voice while she was speaking to the god;

"You have been brought into life by the gods to fulfill your deed of ruling over luck and fate.

Your name from today on shall be Fortuna, and I'll be your caretaker and big sister!

My name is Nemesis!

So always remember to show me the respect I deserve!"

Zeus and Aphrodite had already calmed down, while Aphrodite even seemed surprised by the sudden change of attitude that Nemesis went through.

"So you did teach her a lot about the human families, did you?"

Zeus asked Aphrodite with a smile

"So what if I have?

She's of the new generation anyway.

She deserves to live a little different than we did."

While they talked, Fortuna had already fully opened his eyes, revealing black eyeballs with a red iris.

The view of the wings, which alone were unnatural for a god to have, alongside the bizarre eye color, left nearly all the gods without words, all gods except Aphrodite.

"The humans see wings and eyes of an angel as a type of beauty, so of course, he would have at least one of those two, but having both of them, that shows an outstanding...luck?"

Nemesis started to laugh and wipe the tears away.

"He's already showing his ability without even realizing it!

He's perfect!

That means I've already made my influence on him!"

"As a big sister?" Aphrodite asked with a smirk on her face.

Nemesis started to blush and realized she actually said all the things she told Fortuna out loud.

"I... I will be the caretaker of him... that's like the sibling-thing... you told me about, so basically... like a big sister."

Fortuna still didn't stand up.

Instead, he looked around, first to the spectators, then to the gods near him, and last up to Nemesis.

"Big... sister?"

"Yes!

I am your big sister!

My name is Nemesis!"

She responded with a big smile on her face.

"Neme... sis"

He looked at the floor as he spoke and up as soon as he finished.

All of the gods didn't say one thing, yet they all had the same confused look on their faces.

They all thought the same:

"Why is he speaking like this?"

"Can't he speak normally?"

"Did the birth fail?"

Everyone except for Nemesis and Aphrodite was silent in fear that they failed, but then Aphrodite stepped in;

"This is no natural birth, so of course, this will be different than what we know.

For instance: Fortuna isn't born the way I was.

He isn't born with an already fully developed body and mind.

Instead, he was born with a body that resembles a child but a mind like an actual newborn."

Nemesis stepped up and tried to pull Fortuna up as well.

"But he should be able to walk after a few minutes, am I right?

You told me this is like a foal that can walk nearly right after the birth!"

Said Nemesis, a little worried.

Aphrodite went to Fortuna grabbed him on the wrists, slowly and carefully picking him up.

"He should be able to walk precisely from the start.

It's a matter of body and not mind.

You just have to show him more carefully and not a rough as you tried to do it."

She let go of his wrists as soon as he stood up.

His legs were a little shaky, yet he immediately stood up and walked towards Nemesis.

Standing next to her showed that he was only barely shorter than her, even though he was just born, which seemed to make Nemesis a little embarrassed.

"Zeus, we will take him for the time being.

Until he can be on his own"

Said Aphrodite, who again was holding Fortuna by his hand.

She didn't wait for an answer from Zeus.

She just took Fortuna and went off with Nemesis following her close.

Not a single god tried to stop them, instead they all left, still kind of cheering for the little gods birth.
