Chapter 13 The sun keeper arises

The war was still on going as Liana was being observed by the Thamali soldiers from her skills in fighting. The dawn break is over as the blue sky and the sun's blurry light cleared the battle ground, Liana look around to see a wounded Thamali soldier pinned on the ground as the evil soldier is ready to stab him.

"Ahh!" Liana shouted fiercely as she run towards them and slit down the evil soldier's head. She help him stand up and to her surprise it was the general she then bowed down.

"Young soldier thank you for saving me" he said as they continued fighting the evils around.

The atmosphere inside the castle becomes colder as Niffa keeps on sobbing, she felt a sudden sting in her palms as she look on it. She saw the tattooed-like wounded by a scorch, it keeps on stinging her hand as she closed her eyes and felt an unusual energy. She saw her mother standing in a meadow as she smiled towards her.

"Mother?" she ask then her mother raised her hand as if she was collecting some radiant fire from above, she was so amuse by the radiant light then her mother suddenly struck the radiant fire towards her as she protect her eyes by his hand, then she saw her palm as the tattoo becomes clearer it was a tattoo of the sun. She felt powerful than before as the radiant fires entered her body and into her eyes as she was the sun herself.

The ceiling was destroyed by such strong wind cause by Niffa's empowered energy she stands up looking above while lifting her hands receiving such radiant fire. She was stunning and looks so powerful as her eyes were full of radiant fire. Seres stands up from his seat as he was amazed by Niffa.

"Wow… that was so amazing!" He said as he clap his hands when suddenly Niffa run towards him in just a seconds and grab his neck as he looks terrified by Niffa's radiant eyes.

"How dare you!" she said and even her mouth was filled with radiant fire. She lift Seres as he keeps on wiggling while catching his breath while his Niffa's raging hand traced a burn around Seres' neck.

"Stop… stop now" Seres said as he catch his breathe.

Maru has his eyes widened while watching Niffa, when suddenly he saw Merfoy catching his breath also and he remembered what Seres said a while ago that he and Merfoy's lives are connected.

"Niffa stop!" Maru shouted as he keeps on wiggling from the chain, he was full of wounds and burns from the fired chain but still he keeps on loosen it, when he suddenly tried to double up his flame and the chain breaks. He quickly walk towards Niffa as he touch her shoulder to stop her but Niffa's Radiant fire was too strong as he sting his hand. She was so untouchable by her power, she look at Maru with his radiant eyes.

"Niffa if you will Seres, Merfoy will die too!" he shouted but Niffa was expressionless as he look back at Seres for a while and loosen her grasp as Seres fall down the ground while coughing and catching his breath feeling the burned around his neck.

Niffa ignored everyone around her as she just walk outside and look down the battle ground, her body was surrounded by a radiant light that strucks the eyes of whoever sees her. She pass through the evil sorcerers as they burned down into ashes. She walk in the battle ground and slowly raise her hand as she created a ball of fire then she quickly put her hands down as the ball of fire creates a massive number of flame striking the evil soldiers to death while leaving the Thamali soldiers untouched. The Thamali soldiers was shocked from what just happened realizing that they just won the battle. Liana and the rest of the soldiers were so shocked to see such wondrous power.

"Niffa? The queen of Aldon?" Liana gasp in surprise as they look at her standing in front. She didn't say anything, she suddenly raised her hand as the radiant light went up the sky as they watch a ball of light created by her power.

"The sun keeper" the general of Thamali said as they watch the sun completed its light.

"The sun! It's back! It's not glim anymore!" shouted one of the soldier as they cheer in joy.

Niffa returned back to her normal state as she suddenly stumbled on the ground unconscious.

"Your highness!" Liana said as she tried to wake her up.

Niffa opened her eyes as he can see the birds from the sky, she heard soldiers shouting as she look sideways to see that they were carrying their fellow Thamalians who were killed during the battle. She seats as she wonder what happened, she realized that she was laid down in the platform as she saw Maru helping the wounded soldiers.

"Your highness! I'm glad you're awoke!" Liana said as she approach her and handled her a cup of water.

"Thank you, just call me Niffa"

She drink the water and tried to remember the events after this, she hold her head as she remembered some of the details like the battle, suddenly Rico comes across in her mind as she widened her eyes remembering how Seres stab him.

"Rico!" She gasp as she look around in panic. She quickly stands up and run towards the castle.

She saw Maru with such a sad face like he was in a deep grief sitting near the burned door.

"Niffa?" Maru gasp as he look up, she saw him crying in silent.

"Where is Rico?" she ask with a cold trembling voice.

He gave him a sad look as he stands up to show her the way inside.

Niffa's heart was pounding so fast as they reach the dark corridor where she saw many rooms sideways and some of them are occupied by the town people, kids are crying while the others are playing.

"We decide to let the town people live here for a while after we will built their houses back."

Maru said as they keeps on walking.

"Niffa, this is the last room Rico is inside" he said while his face was looking down as she look at him like something is really not right.

"Thank you Maru"

"I will go back outside to see the soldiers" he then leave her alone standing in front of the silent room. She slowly opened the door as the cricking sound was heard, she saw Rico lying unconscious while his body was wrapped in bandage. Her tears started to fall as she slowly approach him.

"Niffa" a voice said as he look at Merfoy sitting on the ground with his legs crossed. He was wounded as well and his right shoulder was wrapped in bandage.

"Merfoy?"

"Rico is…" Niffa wait for Merfoy to speak up as she felt her body trembling.

"Rico is fine, I healed him a while ago but he needs to rest, his wounds are too hard for me to heal it all, Seres power had become strong."

Niffa sigh in relief as she fall on her knees while looking at Rico and started to burst out into tears.

"Niffa?" asked Merfoy as he watch her crying uncontrollably.

Maru get out the castle as he saw Liana wrapping bandage around the soldier's arm. He approach her and get the rest of the bandage.

"Can you teach me how to do that?" he ask as Liana look at him in surprise.

"Sure, let me finished this up" she finished it as they approach a soldier with a wounded leg.

"Your highness" greeted the soldier as they all look at him and bow down. Maru was surprise as he look around him.

"Uhm… no need to greet me that way" he said as he scratch his head, Liana look at him and chuckled a bit as they kneeled down to wrapped the man's leg.

"'Like this?" Maru ask as the man groan in pain.

"Oh I'm sorry… I wrapped it too tight" Maru said as he loosen it.

"It's okay your highness it's an honour for me that the prince of Thamali wrapped my wound, that's why I'm thankful." The soldier said.

"You're welcome… it's my intention to help my town people" he answered.

They walk in the battle ground as they help the others carry the broken debris scattered.

"By the way Maru you seems not the type of a Royalty that some of us expected"

"I'm really not the royalty type I'm just an ordinary man you know" Maru said as Liana chuckled.

"Well why did you ask that kind of question?"

"Because you don't like to be called your highness"

"Exactly, I'm not used to that besides I was raised by Seres and not the royalties"

"Seres?"

"Yeah… it's a long story though"

They continued to help the soldiers around until they finished cleaning up before dark.

The night was silent unlike yesterday, the town people can finally sleep peacefully. Merfoy walk outside his room as he silently entered the dungeon, he walk inside as the silence makes the place creepier. He stops in front of the invisible wall he made as he entered and saw Seres sitting while reading an old book.

"Why did you came so late, I'm hungry" Seres said as Merfoy handled him the bowl of porridge.

"Porridge? I never thought Thamali was in a crisis state"

"Just shut up and eat it or just starve yourself to death, your evil sorcerers destroyed their farm as well even the rice crops remember?"

"I know I know I get it" he said as he eat it.

"Why did you do that?"

"Do what? I'm the one who's defeated here"

"Liar I know you're moves"

"You are really smart big brother" Seres said as he smirk.

"I know that you can defeat the sun keeper! Tell me are you planning something?!" Merfoy said as he grab Seres and pull it infront of him.

"Woah… hands down brother I know I can't pass through your white flame it's burning me"

"If you ever dare to kill one of the royalties or even the people here I will finish you!" Merfoy said and loosen his grasp as he walk out the invisible wall.

"Why don't you finish me now… until it's too late?" He heard Seres as he saw him smirked.

He just leave him behind.

Maru entered the room and saw Niffa sitting in the ground while guarding Rico waiting for him to wake up. He was shocked to see a green sparked when Niffa touch Rico's hand.

"Niffa did you see that?"

"See what?" she ask as she look around, she doesn't seem to know it.

"Nothing… by the way Niffa you need to eat here take this" he said as he handled her a bowl of porridge.

"Thank you" she said as she take it and place it in the table.

"But I don't have an appetite to eat, I still can't remembered what happened after Seres stab Rico."

"What? You mean you can't remember what happened to you?"

"What happened to me?"

"You unleash the sun's power, and everyone is afraid of you even Seres surrendered"

"The sun keeper" she said as she quickly run towards the window and opened it, the darkness in the room was lighted up by the sun. She was shocked to see the sun's radiant light was back.

"You're right, it's now brighter than before."

Maru said as he smiled.

"I hope Rico sees this" she said as she was amazed by the sun.

"He will Niffa… I know Rico will survive this" Maru said as he approach her and look at the sun.
