Chapter 14 Powers Awakened

Five days later, Seres was still hidden in the dungeon while Rico was still unconscious. They decided to live in Thamali for a while as Merfoy tried to analyse his evil brother's next move.

"Thank you for letting us stay here in your kingdom" Niffa said to the royalties as they invite her for some cup of tea.

"It's a pleasure for us to help the other royalties in need" Queen Rui said as they finished their tea. Niffa get out of the room and walk straight into the corridor, she opened the door and look at Maru and Merfoy cleaning Rico's wounded body.

"How is the meeting Niffa?" Maru ask.

"We just talk about the sun keeper and how Rico becomes the violet sorcerer."

"That's great, I'm glad Thamali's royalties are aware of that" Merfoy said as he tied the bandage once again.

"Will Rico wake up?"

"Of course Niffa, we still need him"

"Merfoy, I want to kill Seres" Niffa said as he stared at Merfoy, they gasp when they see her furious raging eyes.

"But I learned that you are connected with him, and I don't want any of my colleague to die either." She added as she look down.

"It's true that were kind of connected, but I believe that there is a way to defeat him." Merfoy said.

"Defeat him? I thought it's over?" Maru asked.

"I caged him up in the dungeon with my white wall where he can't manage to escape."

"Are you saying that he is still planning to declare another one?" Niffa ask.

"I'm not sure but I will keep on investigating him."

Niffa stared at Rico's direction as she felt an urge to revenge more.

"Niffa, follow me for a while we will discuss something important" Merfoy said as they leave Maru and Rico in the room, they walk straight to the dark corridor where they suddenly bumped a young boy.

"Oh sorry mister!" the boy said as he hid his face from the red cape.

"Red cape?" Merfoy asked himself as he tried to look closely at the young boy in his waist level.

"Where are you going young man?" Merfoy ask in such a light tone as he smiled. The young boy look up to his smiley face as he gasp wondering why he is standing in front of them.

"I was just…" the boy said as he look down again and felt something strange as he was being controlled.

"Nothing mister… I was lost and trying to find my parents' room" he respond as he smiled back.

"Okay go find the room then" Merfoy said as he tap the boy's head.

"See you mister" the boy said as he touch Merfoy's hand and walk past them.

Merfoy felt a strange energy from the boy's touch as he watch him walk behind them.

"Merfoy? What's wrong?"

"Nothing Niffa, let's proceed" he said as they walk outside the castle, they past the Thamalian soldiers resting from their tenth and to their relief most of them recovered but some of them are still lying unconscious.

"I want to heal them all" Merfoy said as they keep on walking.

"Then why don't you do it?"

"My healing powers are too strong for mortals"

"You mean it's the opposite from Rico's?"

"Yes, I can only heal those who have royalty bloods"

Niffa felt sad about that fact as she look around to see wounded Thamalians trying to recover.

"If Rico would be here, he could help you guys" she said to herself. When sudden;y someone stopped them from going out the gate of Thamali kingdom.

"It's forbidden to go outside" said a familiar voice, Merfoy removed his white cape covering his head as well as Niffa.

"It's me Merfoy we need to settle things outside"

"Oh sorry Merfoy I thought it's the Thamalian residence" said the old man in a Thamalian soldier outfit.

"General Malta?" Niffa gasp as he was surprised to see her grown up.

"Ni…Niffa?" the old man widened his eyes when she saw her in a shocked face.

"You're alive"

"I'm sorry I didn't manage to save your mo…"

"She's fine"

"Niffa…I"

"General Malta my mother is alive in me, you don't have to apologize something I'm glad you're alive"

"Yes your highness, King Devion save me as he makes me the general of Thamalian soldiers"

"I'm glad to hear that, General Malta let's keep on fighting for freedom" Niffa said as she gave him a furious smile. Malta was shocked to see such furious eyes in her as he smiled back.

They went outside as they walk inside the forest of Thamali.

"General Malta is an Aldonian like you?"

"Yes, he accompany my mother in going back to the war as they left me with Rico it was 10 years ago I never thought he aged that much"

"He is a brave soldier of your kingdom, Thamalians are honoured to have him as their general"

"I see, by the way what are we going to do in the woods Merfoy?"

"We don't have time left Niffa, you succeed in becoming the rain and sun keeper now it's time for you to be the storm keeper."

"Storm keeper?"

"If you manage to release the storm against Seres, you don't need to use the great light that you and Rico produce the last time"

"So we have two options in defeating Seres? Is that what you are trying to say?"

"Yes" Merfoy said as he look down.

"Then let's do this! I want to be the storm keeper"

"Tried to meditate as you call for the energy buried down your soul"

She felt motivated from what Merfoy said as she inhale and exhale and tried to relax herself closing her eyes. She could not see her mother nor feel any energy that used to flow from her veins like the way she felt before when she controlled the power of rain and sun.

While in the kingdom, Liana helps the soldiers to wash pieces of clothes as well as to clean the swords that are left behind.

"Hey lady in a warrior clothe over there can you help us fill this jar into a clean water inside the castle?" ask one of the wounded soldier.

"Yes sir! I will!" she said as she quickly grab the jar and walk inside the kitchen as she saw Maru fetching another jar.

"Liana!" he greeted in surprise.

"Maru! How is your friend?"

"He's fine, but still he is unconscious I'm fetching water to distribute it to the town people, how about you?"

"For the wounded soldiers"

"Good, you are a big help not just in fighting"

"It's a pleasure for me to help the Thamalian soldiers"

"Liana, do you wanna be one of them?"

"What?"

"Registered Thamalian soldiers, I bet you want to be one of them"

"Yes! I would like to join them! But… seems like they won't allow me"

"Of course they will I assure you" he said and smiled as he leave her behind carrying the jar of water.

"I hope so" she mumbled while waiting for the water to fill up the jar's space, when suddenly a young boy covered in red cape caught her attention as he run down the stairs going down the dungeon.

"Hey young boy! The way to the corridor is on the other side!" she shouted as she take a glimpse on the boy's face as his eyes sparkled in red and continued to run down the dark stairs. Liana gasp as she remembered the evil soldiers' eyes they fought.

"It was the same… the eyes" she said to herself as she left the jar behind and decided to follow the young boy downstairs. She quickly grip her sword as she slowly step down, she can hear the growling sound of the wild boar and alley cats that was locked in the dungeon.

"Damn it! I'm pretty sure that young boy is an evil one" she said to herself while the growling echoed which piss her off as she step closer and closer.

She was shocked to see the huge wild animals caged side by side as chains were tied around their neck they keeps on growling while she grip her sword tighter.

"Where did that young boy go" she said as she continued to walk straight then she saw a light on the dead end she walk closer to see the boy standing in front the white wall then she was shocked to see the red-eyed sorcerer inside the wall talking with the boy.

"So he was Seres?" she murmured when she suddenly hid herself behind the cage near her as she covered her mouth upon seeing the cheetah trying to get her as it keeps on wiggling from its chain.

"So did you do what I just told you Norman?" Seres voice echoed in the place as Liana eavesdrop.

"Yes your highness, I touch Maerfoy's hand and collect some of his white power."

"Good… now all you have to do is to touch this white wall with that tiny bit of white flame you collected". Liana take a peek as she saw the boy touch the wall and in just a second it broke and Seres step outside as he yawned and stretch his hands.

"I know this will work, thanks for your help buddy" he said as he tap the young boy's head and the boy went back to his normal state.

"What happened? Why am I here? Did you use me again mister?" the boy ask as tears fall from his eyes, Seres just look down on him and burst out an evil laugh.

"You evil piece of meat!" Liana shouted as she showed up while pointing her sword towards Seres.

"Wait, a Thamalian warrior? Tss you think you can beat me?" he asked as he smirk.

"I know I won't because I'm just a mortal! But at least I can save that boy's life!" she shouted as she should supposed to attck but Seres raised his two fingers and release the wild animals from their cages. Liana gasp as she watch the animals turned into a monstrous evils, Seres laugh as he watch Liana froze in fear.

"It's time to shine!" he shouted as he flamed up and red fire came across the dungeon.

It was almost an hour but Niffa was still meditating as she sweats and breathe heavily trying to feel the energy she is longing to feel. Merfoy watch her with such curious face as he eagerly wait for her to open her eyes. He suddenly felt pain in his chest as he groan and fall down on his knees. Niffa opened her eyes in surprise upon hearing him as she run towards Merfoy coughing while holding his chest.

"What's wrong Merfoy?"

"Huh… this is bad" he said as he suddenly look back in the kingdom as they can see the birds fly in surprise above the castle from afar. Niffa felt a sudden spark on her head as she look down and touch the ground. She was shocked to see herself sparking in green in such unusual way that she can't control. Merfoy widened his eyes as he crawled backward while looking towards her breathing heavily while looking down the ground, she suddenly saw her mother from her eyes wide open.

"Niffa… don't be such a weakling" her mother said as she felt such energy running from her veins as she shout furiously while standing with a clenched fist.

Rico quickly opened his eyes as he felt a spark that awakens him, he seats in the bed and look around as is nothing happened to him.

"Rico?!" Maru said as he was shocked to see Rico flamed up in blue.

"Blue flame?" Maru ask as Rico look at his hands raging in blue flame. He tear up the bandage around his body and watch his wound disappear.
