Aiken Rextert

"Do you have any idea about what you just did?!"

Middle-aged teacher, John Green yelled at Oscar. He was furious with Oscar because of him trying to strangle Joseph. Teacher Green pulled everyone to the nearby empty classroom. He was yelling at them nonstop. Even the victim of the bullying. Peter was already hurt psychologically by the bullying. And now he was being yelled at because someone tried to save him from bullies.

"You tried to strangle Joseph Ferbend! Do you know how much power and money his father has?!"

"...What?"

"He is one of the richest businessmen of the Daxhoull. By beating up his son you ruined the reputation of our school! We lost too much because of you!"

"Are you saying that we have never should intervene?"

"Of, course!! Some rich kid bullying no one isn't worth ruining everything. You should have let him."

Oscar was once again boiling with rage. He was about to jump onto the teacher but Lydia held his hand to stop him. And it worked. Oscar was barely restraining himself. The others weren't much different from him. They were able to restrain them. Lingard was staying close to Ted in case he loses control.

"Money is power. In this life, everything can be bought with money. And you enraged one of the most powerful men in the Daxhoull. You will apologize to Joseph, no beg him forgiveness then you will all getting kicked out of this school."

"It's all my fault. Others just followed me."

"I don't care, Oscar! You are lucky that I am not humiliating you before everyone's eyes."

Oscar tried to take to blame to himself but the teacher didn't even care about his words. There was a smile on his face now. The furious teacher was grinning now.

"Maybe I should just send you to Mister Ferbend. I wonder what would he do to you? Hahaha!"

"What did you say, Teacher Green?"

The teacher froze with the unexpected voice from behind him. When he looked behind he saw the Principal and his son. Aiken Rextert.

"Teacher Green, did you just threatened the students of our school?"

"B-but they-"

"They stopped a bullying incident. Although their way of doing it was not good the outcome was acceptable. Bullying other students is not acceptable."

Teacher Green's face was turned pale. The principal was smiling with cold eyes at him. Aiken was talking with a genuine smile, clearly enjoying the demise of the teacher.

"You were talking about the power of the money. Let me show you the example. You are fired."

"Y-you c-can't do that!"

"I can. Right, dad?"

The Principal nodded his head. The smile on his face got even bigger.

"Although it's not the same thing this is still power. You are fired, never again step inside of my school. Get out!"

After the words of the principal former Teacher Green fell on his knees. His world was crushed. Just a minute ago he was imagining things he could get if he gave Oscar and the others to Mister Ferbend but now he lost everything.

"And don't imagine Mister Ferbend could help you. His son will be expelled too along with his henchmen. If he tries something, I will crush him too. This is the power of money."

Teacher Green lost all of his hope. He gets up and slowly walked out of the classroom. He knew the power of the Rextert family. They are one of the strongest families. Not the likes of the Ferbend could go against them.

After the Green has gone out of the classroom principal turned towards Oscar. His smiling face was vanished and replaced with a cold expression.

"I don't want an incident happening in my school by your hands."

"Y-yes, sir."

The Principal left without another word. When he left the classroom the tense atmosphere faded. Only Aiken and Oscar's gang was left. Aiken was still smiling genuinely. When Oscar pay attention to him fully he remembered him. He was the one he met on the night of the forest fire.

"We met again, Oscar. But something terrible happens every time we met. Are you perhaps unlucky?"

"I might be."

"Ah! We haven't met with the rest of you. I am Aiken Rextert. nice to meet you!"

"I am Lingard Kingovic. Nice to meet you."

"Ted Crest."

"...Peter..."

"Jason Murphy. Nice to meet you."

"We have already met. I am Lydia Haller."

Aiken's eyes stop on Lydia for a few seconds before they lit up as if he remembered something.

"You were the girl with Oscar, in the forest that night."

"!!!"

Lingard, Jason, and Ted's heads snapped towards me. In their eyes was a strange glint, eager to hear about it. Lydia was momentarily panicked thinking about the mess they caused.

"You guys, are you dating?"

With Jason's words, Lydia's face becomes crimson. Even Oscar blushed because of the question. Seeing the two of them blush others looked at them suspiciously. Oscar coughed the shake off the embarrassment.

"No, we are not dating."

"Yes, we aren't dating."

Oscar thought that there was something different with Lydia. He thought that there was a slight disappointment in her voice. But he quickly shook the thought away. 'It's not the time to think things like this.' he said to himself.

"Then what were you doing at the forest?"

This time a difficult question came from Ted. This question put Oscar and Lydia alert. Oscar looked Jason in the eye and he noticed what Oscar trying to say to him. It was about magic.

"Now that I thought about, that night a comet was supposed to pass. It should have been visible from the forest."

"Oh! You are right! I totally forgot it."

Lydia and Jason relaxed that the situation is solved. But Oscar has become even more alert. He made eye contact with Aiken. He was still smiling, albeit there was a calculative glint in his eyes. It was unsettling for Oscar. Especially so since a large amount of mana was leaking from Aiken. This shouldn't suppose to happen. Normal humans don't have mana after all. And the mana leaks from Aiken is spirit mana, all of this makes Oscar tense.

"Thank you for what you did-"(Ted)

"No need to thank me. What he did or that idiot and his friends are simply unforgivable."(Aiken)

"You are right."(Jason)

"Let's talk some other time. I think we would have a nice and long conversation. Right, Oscar?"(Aiken)

Aiken extended his hand for a shake. Before Oscar answered him, he saw something on the palm of Aiken. It was a piece of paper. Oscar focused on paper a moment then act as nothing happened.

"Yes, you are right."

They handshake and Oscar took the paper piece from his hand. Aiken said farewell to everyone and left the classroom. After he left Oscar to read what was written on the paper.

'I know something you will want to know. It is about Nora.'

There was a dangerous glint in Oscar's eyes. He was reminded of the rage he felt previously. And now that rage returned, even intensified. Lydia looked at Oscar with confusion. She sensed something but couldn't understand it.
