Attack at the Midnight

Dogion took a deep breath. Unlike many spirits, he had a physical body. It was functioning quite similar to humans' as well. And the situations like this made him nervous and excited.

"So this is Jumsall. It's unfortunate but this city will cease to exist tonight."

He stood on the roof of a tall building. He was looking at the city beneath his feet with cold eyes. His pink hair fluttered with the wind. There were still some humans walking at this hour. They were carelessly continuing their lives. Thinking that he will end those lives in a few minutes he felt nothing.

In Spirit Realm, life was hard. Before the Council, the realm was almost ruined by the constant wars. Small disputes grew and turned into large wars where everyone killed each other. Dogion was born in this era of war. He fought for ages without rest or thought. Just to live another day, he sacrificed so much. But these humans, what do they sacrifice? How come they have better lives compared to spirits who are suffering for millenniums.

"I will end it quick. At least you won't suffer much."

He levitates to the sky. In the night sky, no one couldn't see him. He brought his hands together and between them, a white sphere appeared. It was as big as a human's finger but enough to wipe out a large city. Sphere suddenly expanded and swallowed all of the Jumsall.

It was so quick that no one realized anything. They suddenly crushed to death with unbelievable gravitational force. Buildings become piles of debris, parks become pits, many people's favorite stores become nothing more than junkyards. It was complete destruction. No one could recognize the city now.

"I go easy on it but, it's already destroyed. Just like their life, everything they built is fragile."

There used to be grand buildings on Spirit Realm. But in the era of war, they were destroyed. Still, in the eyes of Dogion, they were still better than those of the Human World.

He looked at the remains of the city. Its population was over a hundred thousand. Now if not all of them most of them died by the crushing force. Several explosions started to happen right after. Fires rose and swallowed the remains of the buildings.

At least half of the city was on fire. Even if some people survived the wave destruction, giant fires would kill them. There was no hope left for the people of the Jumsall.

While he was concentrating on the city, a sudden attack hit Dogion's back. He fell onto the ground while letting out a groan.

"What was that!? I was sure that there was no one who could attack me up there!"

A white wave came from the debris and it was aimed at Dogion. He dodged the wave and jumped sideways. The white wave hit the ground and exploded creating a large hole.

"Space magic?"

Dogion raised his brows. This was unexpected. Spirits who can use space magic are almost extinct at this point. So who could use it? A human?

Suddenly, Dogion sensed movement behind him and he created a barrier to stop any kind of movement. When he turned his head he saw a man who is caught in his barrier. Well, his barrier is more like a field where he has absolute control.

The man was wearing black sports pants and a white t-shirt. He had an oni mask that was covering his mouth and nose. And he had single-edged curved sword in his hands. A katana.

"A devil?"

"Oni."

"What's that?"

"...a demon."

"... isn't it the same?!"

"Nah. Oni is cooler."

"I really don't understand humans."

His eyes glowed grey and he vanished from where he was. At the same time from the opposite direction, another white wave rushed at Dogion. This time Dogion stopped the wave with his barrier.

"You humans are quite surprising. Unfortunately, in order for our race to survive, you will have to perish."

Dogion opened his arms and with him being center another wave of destruction spread through the remains of the city. This time it was even stronger than before. His goal was to eliminate this human who has space magic. This human wasn't too good with space magic so eliminating him earlier would be great.

Everything around Dogion turned into the dust. He obliterated everything and everyone in his surroundings. But before he can analyze, the remains of several buildings appeared right above his head. With a loud noise, they crashed on him.

Not even a second later they shattered like pieces of glass. Dogion had an annoyed look. The human was alive and he dared to kill him. But before he could search for his group of spirits appeared around him. They quickly encircled him.

"Tch! He has a stroke of great luck to survive this time."

These spirits were from the Rebellion and they were the main reason why Dogion attacked the city. But seen them this... vulnerable Dogion was puzzled. They were supposed to have Odin's Eye. But the ones encircling him didn't even have decent weapons.

[Geo Humorin]

A huge face made of earth rose from the ground and tried to bite Dogion. He barely dodged it.

The one who made this spell was a high spirit. She had a body similar to humans except for cow ears and horns on her head. Her eyes glowed with a fiery glint and she pointed her staff to Dogion.

[Geo Humorin Troumor]

The huge face of earth rose from the ground and he had half body now. Arms as big as skyscrapers, torso which is wider and bigger than anything. It was a half body of legendary golem, Geo Humoriom. Even in this state, it wasn't any shorter than twenty meters.

The cow girl was panting hard. Her mana and abilities only allowed her to summon the golem up to stage two, which she just summoned.

Golem punched towards the Dogion with a terrifying speed. He once again barely dodged it. From the power behind the punch massive force of air appeared and crushed and destroyed everything in its path.

"I hate this! First that human with space magic and now some cow girl who can summon Golem Geo. I should have directly destroyed everything instead of going easy."

Dogion gathered all of his power and directed it to the giant golem. Under the terrifying effect of the gravitational force of at least thirty times the normal gravity of Earth, large cracks appeared all over its body.

Dogion sends an energy wave inside the golem from the cracks. When inside energy wave changed and quickly expanded. Golem was swollen in a few seconds later and it exploded with a huge explosion.

Dogion knew the special ability of the golem. It was the sealing effect of its body. Even if it manages to bite you, you will lose all of your mana. Everything will be sealed forever. But the worse thing is if you get caught and it locks you upon his torso. Then even your consciousness will be sealed and you will simply be lost everything and become part of the golem.

Because of its danger, anyone who has an affinity with it is killed off. No one in the Spirit Realm wanted to face this freak of a golem. When it was in its full body form it was almost impossible to defeat. The last time it happened, it could only be stopped by the sacrifice of a Deity Spirit.

After he was done with the golem, Dogion looked around and he wasn't surprised. Spirits were already escaped. But he still learned something good.

"It turns out that the rise of magical energy we noticed was because of this damned golem, not the eye."
